I'm sure all of you out there reading Udon't Street Fighter book are reading their Darkstalkers title as well. If not then shame on you, it's beautiful.
Can't say what my attraction to Darkstalkers is. Maybe it's because I'm a crazy fan of horror movies and morbind things in general... and I just can't resist the lure of a break-dancing Frankenstein.
Yeah, that's probably it.
As far as the games go, I've only played the first one. I enjoyed it like crazy (Lord Raptor used to be my sig, if anyone remembers). Haven't been able to secure a copy of 2 or 3, I'm using eBay as a last resort.
The American cartoon was unspeakable garbage, the Japanese anime wasn't much better and the manga was pretty cool but much too short. Perhaps Udon's comic will be the Darkstalkers fix I need.
So far it's shaping up alright.
In Issue 1 we get a brief summary of the origin of the Darkstalkers Earth, Pyron's history, a glimpse at the cast and a quick look at Morrigan and her sluttyness.
Issue 2, which just came out today, was a major improvement. Donovan vs Bishomon, art-wise, was beautiful. I think it was the lighting effects Udon does, but the book is absolutely gorgeous.
And it appears that my favorite character to look at, Felicia, will be starring in #3.

Morrigan? Nah, not my type. I hate goths, and since Vampires are the basis for how all goths dress and act, I hate them too. Of course, she's a succubus, but whatever. "Slut" just isn't my thing.
As far as the Darkstalker chicks go, Felicia's my favorite.
Anyway, I picked up the first issue of Devil May Cry when it first came out, still haven't read it. I wouldn't comdemn every other video game-based comic on whether or not you like Devil May Cry, though.

Oh man... I almost forgot about this title. Thanks for the reminder. Haven't been to a comic shop in weeks, but I'm sure the first two issues are all sold out. I'll have to do some searching online.

I really want to read this. It looks beautiful. Alvin Lee is a god. But I do hope he doesn't end up being Darkstalkers exclusive.

I love anything goth. Don't know why though...It's just hot.
Shame on me. I never started reading the Udon Street Fighter Series. I stuck with fu*k*ng Archie Comic's Sonic the Hedgeog. NOw that they've gored that beyond redemption, I'm moving to Udon. Do they still backorder?

You can order the trade paperback at http://www.devilsdue.net. That's what I would suggest, otherwise you'll have to pay crazy internet prices for back issues.

Ive read other video game comics before. Like the Sonic comics and some Street Fighter comic
Lol Morrigan does dress like a slut. But shes not gothic atleast the gothic your talking about. Gothic people whine about how they wanna die and blah blah. True gothic is just a dark form of being. Kinda like a dark medevil look. No one is truely gothic anymore. Last time I saw someone who look anywhere close to true gothic was at a Cradle Of Filth concert. This girl was dressed very medevil it was really cool

A warning about the TPB, some genius at Udon decided to make it "Manga-sized". That means it's shrunk down to the size of your average manga graphic novel, as opposed to normal TPBs which are the same size as the comics when they were origially printed.
The problem? The art tends to suffer. When things get shrunk down that much from their original appearance it's hard to make out every detail (and there were a lot of them, the art is fantastic).
So try and find the back issues first, I suggest. Maybe someone on eBay has a set of them. You'll pay more but you'll get the better product.
And if all else fails then just get the TPB.

#2 came out yesterday so it is definately still at your shop. And #1 is going into a second printing which will be released with issue #3 next month. So you shouldn't have to go searching online for em. In fact, #1 might still be on the shelves at your store. There are a couple left at mine.
