Hello,
I've been interested in this classic and it's more recent counterpart for some time and I've been wondering if I could have any details on what these two series are about.
Thanks :)

Exploding men and bad dialog
I SUPER Hate You! <----- Actual line/episode title
I haven't seen the old series myself, but from what Voltron has told me, it's quite possibly the best anime ever made, with the exception of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, but that's just my stupid opinion that doesn't even matter in the first place.
The new series doesn't have that kind of shine that the old series has. It's more violent, but that doesn't make up for the bad story.

Now I know this is a bit off topic but why do people like Ghost In The Shell so much? I cant stand to watch it. I rented #2 because I heard it was really good and I couldnt sit through it. The animation was really good but the CGI backrounds with Cel-animation looked weird and I didnt like it. The dialog was fine if you could understand what the heck they were talking about. Half the lines were them quoting someone. The action was fine but in small doses. I turned it off after the two cops fight the crab claw robot dude. I couldnt take the horrible dialog anymore. I tried watching the first one and the same thing happened. But i heard the 2nd one was better. Guess it wasnt...
But thats just what I think, Im still wondering why so many people like it since Im not the only one I know who thinks it's just too odd
And on topic I havnt seen the new series but I know the old one is really dated and has that sterotype anime thing going on with it

....and that's not a translation error? That's the original title?!?
It's hard to explain its beauty and application to what the future holds for us, but to be a jerk, it's because it's not Devil May Cry. But seriously, it's really not for everyone. Some people just want violence, which I find kind of stupid. Some people want a good story, which isn't so bad. Ghost in the Shell provides both. While each episode is a sort of stand alone episode, similar to Cowboy Bebop, each tells a story and you get something out of it. I'm a sucker for technology, and I find cyborgs and AI fascinating. That's why I like it. Go ahead and not like it. Whatever you want.

I didn't say that I didn't like it. I just thought the episode title sounded funny. Anything with Cyborgs and AI has got to be cool.

I never saw the show I was talking about the movies actually. And DMC doesnt have a anime and if it did I wouldnt watch it because after seeing how bad the Viewtiful Joe anime was I dont trust Capcom. Lol not everything is DMC with me anyways I havnt played that game in weeks....but anyways I was just wondering why so many people liked it. I guess I missed the messages but Im not the only one because I watched it with some friends and they didnt get it either. Maybe the show is different. Might as well check that out too
lol TMB I dont know if its bad translation or what but it's still funny
Well, if you like the Matrix, then you should like the first movie, because a lot of influence came from that movie alone. The concept is almost the same, and there's even a direct quote from that movie that can be found in the first Matrix movie.
Anyway, let's get back on topic.

To sway back off topic slightly... I don't know anything about the Viewtiful Joe anime (in fact, could someone PM me a link to some place I could check out an episode or two?) but even if that one anime is bad Capcom's had some damn fine shows. All of the Street Fighter anime are decent, even though SFIIV has some serious canon issues, then you've got Nightwarriors: Darkstalkers Revenge, and Megaman Wishing Upon a Star (not NT Warrior, the ORIGINAL Megaman.) Anyway, I'm just sayin' if a DMC anime comes about, don't be so quick to turn the other cheek. It could be fantastic. I'd definitely check it out.
Anyway, getting back on topic, I saw a LITTLE bit of the anime, and a LITTLE bit of the live action American movie. It was a bit hard to take seriously when there was this very much caucasian man named Kenshiro.
