Anyways, a new topic, while reading that cool posts over at the Xbox thread about crackdown with all the explosions you can do, reminds me of an old n64 title called Blast Corps.

Since rare isn't with nintendo anymore, it is kinda disapointing to not see such a wonderful and challanging game on the VC... this is the kind of game I would purchase off the VC. It is such a great and sastifying game and getting the medals are tough but worth it.

Yeah, I can agree with that. Blast Corps. was one of a kind.

Super Mario Galaxy is pretty much the only Wii title I'm actually very much looking forward to. What else is there, really?

Metal Gear Solid 4's a big one. I haven't seen many previews and haven't really read up on it, but give Kojima a system as powerful as the PS3 to work with, and I'm there.

I played a demo of Motorstorm and thought it was brilliant. Perhaps it was just the initial giddiness of playing a PS3 in person, but the graphics were absolutely freakin' amazing and the game had a wonderful sense of speed to it.

Other than that, F.E.A.R., Resident Evil 4, and Grand Theft Auto 4, of course.

Actually, the only thing he mentioned that's 100% for sure exclusive is Motorstorm. And after playing the demo a couple times, the graphics wear off and you're left with a pretty average racing game.

And the Wii doesn't get RE 5, it get it's own stand alone RE game, Umbrella Chronicles. Which promises to not only take us through the past games, but to let us play as various characters from the series. Also rumored it will tie up some of the loose ends in the storyline.

Now we get to do what Wesker did in the Mansion, what ADA did in RE 2, and what I hope Nemesis did in RE 3*But you know that won't happen* probably Carlos.

Yeah, you can do it. Push both A+B at the same time and hold it while your cursor is over a channel, but it's been awhile, so I'm not sure. If it isn't that, it's just B. Pretty sure it's both, though.

You know, LogicDonny? Running your sentences through SpellCheck would work wonders for you, it really would. Perhaps you mean well, but most of the time your posts come off as either moronic, bashing, or both. A little punctuation and correct spelling would go a long way, my friend.

And you know what's really sad? The graphics are worse than they should be. Take stuff like FarCry: Vengeance. FarCry looked terrific on the Xbox. The Wii is something like an Xbox 1.5 in terms of power, yet the Wii port of the game looked like it was on a PS2, in the first generation of games. That's just inexcusable. Honestly, if developers start pulling out stuff that looks as good as what the Xbox was doing in it's later days, (Conker L&R immediately jumps to mind) then the Wii is going to be fine. But if this kind of crap keeps up, there's going to be a problem.

Anyways a couple posts earlier about farcry and etc on wii, that is 1 reason why i won't buy the Wii, too many crappy ports of excellent games. I know I have been a little harsh on the graphics and I still stand on it but the games sure are fun with the wiimote.

I am very looking foward for that Sonic secret rings game and a few others.

If Developers actually sat down and took the time to develop much better ports or even good original IP's we wouldn't have to worry about any problems.. However I feel that won't happen.. We all look for a way to make a quick buck.

As the only f*cking person on this god forsaken forum who's played Viva Pinata, I can attest to the fact that the thing would sell like CRAZY on the DS. It's innovative, it's fun, and it's friendly to kids. It suits Nintendo a lot more than Microsoft. It's really a shame, because it's probably one of the best games of 2006 and easily the best Rare has made since Banjo-Kazooie on the 64.

If this does happen, consider it one point for the fanboys. While I have no problem with it coming to Wii (admittedly, it could be fun using the brush with the remote), I just feel that when a person would complain and moan about a game not coming to their system of choice instead of actually playing it on the system it was released for, they're being a little.........close minded. If it does happen, it'll be like those mothers in the mall that give their kids whatever they want if they cry enough. That's why I'd rather just leave it on the PS2.

Nah, of course you're not. Loads of idiots bought Sonic for 360, didn't they? And that game even had horrible demo's available for it. At least this one shows a little promise.

That being said, it looks rather weak and it's going to get released on the same day as Crackdown, so it's got very little chance of finding it's way into my library next week. We'll see how the reviews turn out. If there's more to the game than just following a track, I might look into it.

When you put it in terms of the classic Crash style of game, it really makes sense. I don't think Sonic atSR will be quite as open as that, but I picture the levels from Crash where you're running from a snow ball or polar bear when I think of the game. Except going in the opposite direction.

Crash used to be all I played for a good while back in the day, because I didn't have many games for Playstation. I was young and didn't have much money to buy games. I also believe the game started to be awful after the third game. The second Crash was my favorite out of them all. Such an awesome game.

this is just probably in the alpha stage and they haven't finalized the graphics for the Zorro game. Don't always presume games will look like this.

No game, for any currently available console, should look that horrendous. Even in the alpha stage. It's like developers are making the Wii look weaker than the PS2, and that's just wrong.

Developers shouldn't release 'alpha shots' to begin with, and certainly not when they look this sh*tty.
Hopefully after a few months people will realise no-one buys this shovelware crap and actually start putting some damn effort into their Wii games instead of adding waggle gimmicks and calling it a day.

A new interview (http://wii.ign.com/articles/765/765721p1.html) of Suda 51, the guy that made Killer 7, about his new game, No More Heroes. Nothing really TOO interesting, but at the end he says he'll try to make it as violent as Manhunt 2. Eh? Ok, kinda random, but whatever.

One guy likes it a lot, and the other one says he doesn't like the random missions, and would rather just play the regular stages. They both agree, however, that it is definitely better than the last couple of 3-D Sonic games.

Yeah, saw that on The 1up Show. As awesome and funny as Shane is, I very rarely agree with him on stuff. He tends to be the kind of person who's either obsessed with something, or just doesn't play it. He usually has an extremely positive outlook on things, which I'd love to have, but unfortunately that pretty much leads to having to take his "THIS GAME IS GREAT" comments with a grain of salt.

Most of what they said I was pretty much thinking would happen anyways. They'd get one thing right, then completely mess up in some way that would bring the game down from good to mediocre.

When I downloaded DKC I realized that the game hasn't aged all that great. A lot of the levels are simply boring, the game is pretty short and there's no real motivation to find all those bonus rooms. Personally I think both sequels (especially 2) are way better.

Is there a glitch in Super Mario World when you finish it? I did it just there on the Wii and it just stayed frozen on the Thank You screen at the end. I could still press the Home button so I don't think the ROM froze up or anything. Really annoying cause I had 99 lives and now I've five (not that I'd ever lose them but it still annoys me).

It never saved your lives, and when you beat the game, it just sits there until you flick reset (or in this case, hit home and reset). In fact, Twilight Princess does the same thing. It's nothing new. No biggie. I do know of a real crash bug in the game they didn't fix. Here's a hint. Choco Island 3's first goal post + Yoshi + real high jump and no autoscroll = crash.


DKC is more primitive than the sequels by far, but I love it for the style and general "aura" (art direction/music). Its just a great ride. DKC2 is the king though, and DKC3 is a world of its own.

Ahh Donkey Kong Country... I loved that game, especially the level where your'e in a mining cart, fleeing across the tracks... for some reason, this game brings back memories of listening to The Prodigy, of all bands! (I think I got a Prodigy album, Fat of the Land I do believe, around the same time as DKC, and used to listen to it whilst playing...)

contra 3 - insanenly hard.. this game is for men.. play on hard also.. BTW, no 30 man code in this game.. I only beaten the game on normal and got to the final level on hard.. It's a very tough game. play with 2 ppl and complete hard mode.

super castlevania 4 - remake of the original castlevania with 7-mode graphics, 8 way whip attack, cool graphics and awesome music.. the 2nd best classic castlevania. 9/10 worth buying.

Exactly, couldn't have said it better, and that's why the recent Sonic handheld games haven't been all that fun even though they're in 2D (which works much better for a game like Sonic in my opinion). While there is still potential for a new Sonic game to be somewhat fun, it won't be anything like the classics.

Not entirely true. The Wiimote does feel more and more gimmicky the longer I play with it. I probably would have gone through Zelda a second, or maybe even a third time by now, but the sh*tty Wii controls turn me off of it.

I'm looking forward to stuff like Super Paper Mario and Mario Galaxy...and uh...you know...those other Wii games.....but even still, I worry about the controls. Sometimes it just feels like an unneeded hassle, and you should never feel that way about any game you play.

And that's not even really special to games like Zelda, where the control scheme was simply shoved in, but even games like WarioWare, which was built around the controls, wears thin. After playing it for awhile, I really did get over doing weird things with the Wiimote, especially considering you could condense those dozen "forms" in WarioWare down to maybe 4 or 5.

The Wiimote control just continues to seem like a hindrance, rather than an effective and new way of playing games. I want to play all the great Nintendo games, but at the same time I just don't want to use the Wiimote to play them. At all.

That's actually Corey Barlog, (not Balrog) who was the lead on God of War 2. David Jaffe is the creator of the series.

I'll have a look at some online reviews for them and see if I want to have a look further into them (Though I'm on the edge of my seat awaiting the release of Ubisoft's TMNT :evilgrin: ). Good to hear you are still interested yet but there is something I have to warn you about Sphinx. There is a part in the game I got to and i COULDN'T get further it was one of those game-glitches where you can't contuine your game happened to me in Warrior within and this game.

Apprently I was supposed to go to this room in Sphinx but I went to this room instead but when I came back realizing I picked the wrong room the game wouldn't let me go any further. I can't tell you where it is due to spoilers.

On a side note, I'm considering trading in my 7 or 8 year old Game Boy Color and 3 of my 4 working Pokemon (Yellow has kicked the can a long time ago -_-; ) for a Nintendo DS. Maybe a lite? I don't know. The cheaper it is, the happier I am. I think it will probably cut the price of the DS and the game I'm getting by about...$50 max? Maybe less? Heck, maybe everything including my Yellow version could only cut the price by $25 or something. Who wants a crappy GBC anyway when things like the Game Boy Advance is considered a bit "old". My GBC must be considered a fossil by now...

SMB is more playable, but you already played it. It was necessary because I'm trying to build a digital replica of my collection. Kid Icarus is great fun, but it is also a total b*tch (extremely difficult). The "suspend" feature helps with that though.

Both are worthy, but I recommend Kid Icarus.

I'm getting a bad vibe that the game is only playable in "horizontal" mode, meaning we have to hold the DS like a book, limiting us to only touch screen controls. If this is the case, I'll have to relearn the whole damn game, thus throwing 11 years of pure unadulterated skill out the window. Once again goddamn unnecessary & wonky touch screen control ruins an otherwise already perfect concept. It also looks like they're once again going to sterilize the game of any character presentation (and any decent music selection) to save on localization costs. Dammit. It also looks like they are adding "items" ala Tetris DS into the multiplayer mode to throw the need for actual skill out the window in favor of random luck of the draw. Count me out. All I need

Ugh, I sure hope not. That might be an interesting option, but it would ruin the game for me if that's the only way you're allowed to play. I saw the screens as well, but I assumed that they only look split-screen because it supports up to 4 players online at a time, so there would need to be two on the bottom screen and two on the top screen (similar to Puyo Puyo 15th Anniversary for the DS).

Hopefully they'll have an option to use traditional rules without items. I think that's how Tetris DS is, although it's been a while since I've played it online.

Tetris DS does have that option, but if you go without items, for some insane reason they limit you to 2-player matches. It's probably due to their laziness on the online front. Tetris isn't Mario Kart. The items kill the whole game when someone with insane skills can be beaten by some random kid who got three mushrooms or stars in a row. If there is some option to flip/flip to the traditional two screen format and go D-Pad, then I'm in. I suppose the new visual style makes the game fall in line with Lumines and Meteos and the other New Age Puzzlers, but I would prefer the original style. I'd be willing to settle for the original music, but considering they went cheap and only included three songs in the GBA compilation, I have my doubts (they even managed to break Dr. Mario classic "Fever and Chill" themes). Come to think about it, Tetris DS only played the same damn Mario theme endlessly during multiplayer, with no options to switch it out, which is unforgivable considering the hefty amount of music available in single player and how the soundtrack has no effect whatsoever on multiplayer play.

I'm officially worried about this one. Here's hoping they don't cheap out on the D-Pad controls, because that's how I play the game, have always played the game, and don't intend to stop playing the game.

While trying to sell me a PS3, some of my buddies there told me about how they weren't allowed to sell any first-party Nintendo products, that includes games and accessories, not even points cards, until March 16th. They apparently need to keep everything in stock for some big thing that's going to go down.

Ai suggested that maybe a huge Wii shipment would be coming in, but that doesn't explain why the sale of first-party DS, GBA and Gamecube games was cut off as well. Anyone else heard of/know what's going on? I know we've got one or two people in here who actually work for EB, so maybe you can shed some light on it. Maybe it's just in Canada, or maybe even just my local EB?
