Did anyone else watch the Award ceromony?
The Aviator got screwed...wow...I thought it had the award won. ("Million Dollar Baby" beat it for "Best Movie")
Jamie Foxx's speech was moving, "Ray" deserved the award in that catergroy the most, it was a performance worthy of Charles in every aspect.
"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" won original screenplay, which is a blessing, the film has such deapth and emotional dissarray, if the Incredibles had won like they did earlier with "Best Animated Movie", I would've been p*ssed.

I'm glad "The Incredibles" won for Best Animated Feature. It truly deserved it.
And "Million Dollar Baby" almost swept the main Oscars :o (except for "Best Supporting Actress. That was won by Cate Blanchett for The Aviator)

Yeah, I watched the Oscars. It was ok. I'm glad the Million Dollar Baby won most of the top awards, cause I think it was the best of the bunch, well, maybe that and Sideways. I liked the Aviator, but it's not Scorsese's best movie, and I don't think Ray should've been nominated for best picture. Hotel Rwanda or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind should've been nominated instead. And the best animated picture category was a joke. I love the Incredibles and I'm glad it won, but come on, Shark Tale was nominated for best animated picture? :|

I watched a little bit of it. I wasn't all that interested in many of the "top" movies this year, so I kept my viewing to a minimum. I'm glad The Incredibles won, but like Dark Knight said, why was Shark Tale even nominated? I guess there weren't very many good animated movies this year.

That was the only moment that I actually smiled. It was great to finally see Charlie Kaufman holding an Oscar.
Otherwise, it really didn't hold my attention, in part because I hadn't seen any of the big winners, save for "Ray" and "Eternal Sunshine". Most of the rest never got released out here. The Aviator only just hit our English-speaking theater here last week.

I watched them, but just as I expected they weren't very good. Ever since Halle Berry won best actress, and LOTR swept last year, I don't have very much respect for the academy.
Chris Rock's opening monologue was hysterical, as was Robin Williams. And as I expected, Scorsese was robbed again. When is he going to get the recognition he deserves? :|
I haven't had any respect for the academy since Russel Crow (Gladiator) beat Tom Hanks (Cast Away) for best actor. Whether or not I liked the movie, I can honestly say that preformance by Hanks was some of the best acting I've ever seen. He honestly made me feel for a freaking volley-ball and that takes talent.

Same here... only I do live in the US. We get crap movies around me, so...
I mean, Finding Neverland and Phantom of the Opera FINALLY came out around here. Oh, Phantom's gone already, and Neverland is on one show, late at night... so I still haven't seen those... But, gosh darn it... we had BENJI on 6 shows a day here. By the by... Fat Albert is still in theaters, as is other movies nowhere near Oscar level.
Anyway, I think the Oscars are too 'high school'. They pick 'safe' choices. Like, come on. Eternal Sunshine and Jim Carrey so got screwed for Oscar nods. Eternal Sunshine was too 'indie' and 'off' they said. Watever.

Agreed.
When I saw that movie, I forgot that Jamie Foxx acted the part... I could've sworn I was watching Ray Charles himself in that movie. He was born for that part!

I was dissapointed that Million Dollar Baby took best picture as I thought Aviator deserved it. Tho I haven't yet seen MDB yet. Nor have I see Eternal... yet. Ray also looks interesting.
