Anyone on this board into the Shenmue series? To those who aren't familiar with it, it's a video game series found on the Dreamcast and XBox systems. I find it to have a very captivating and emotional storyline. The characters are interesting and the game play is as fun as it is unique. I'm crazy about the Shenmue saga. Anyone else play the games?

I Played thru Shenmue On the dreamcast, but then once i got to the harbor (2nd or 3rd disc) i stopped playing, nothing wrong with it but mt brother played it one day and i never seen the game since. and yeah ryo is a sweet character, but i would loose the jacket. the mini games are sweet, i liked playing darts, and the fact that the game is similer to real life was pretty sweet, i liked how you could buy pop out of vending machines and buy tapes and get litttle capsoles. and the fact that all the characters in the game had full names and details (i have the stradegy guide) that was awesome to. ........................

Ack! you stopped once you reached the harbor.. you missed out on TONS of awesome stuff. Disk 3 is so full of action, I won't say any specifics since I wouldn't want to spoil it for you. I recommend you buy another copy of this game so you can finish it. You'll then be able to carry your game file over to Shenmue II. :D

I love Ryo! He's beyond cool. I love his jacket too but yeah it would be VERY nice if he took it off once and a while.

Capsules collecting is one of my favorite aspects of this game. You'll be able to sell them in Shenmue II. S2 also has tons of new stuff to collect like more Capsules, Zippo Lighters, and Gem Stones.

I replay the games all the time, I also love interacting with the characters, they always have something interesting to say. The fighting is also fun too!

Go to: www.ebay.com

They always have copies of this game. Good prices for the first one. If you also plan on buying Shenmue II then you have two main choices, unless you're fluent in Japanese and can play the all Japanese version. The Pal version on Dreamcast is pretty pricey. It always sells for $60++, even used copies. This version contains Japanese voices and English subtitles. If you want the game in all English then you'll need the XBox version. Hope this helps you out. :)

This game is hella cool. Both Shenmue I and Shenmue II are available on the Dreamcast. I recommend buying this system, it has a lot of great games on it and it's cheap. You can get a new one now for around $60. If it's used even cheaper. :)

Here are a few screen shots of the games:

This screen shows the main character of the game, Ryo Hazuki. (Quite the hottie if you ask me. :D) He's the one in the middle wearing the leather jacket. (He's so cute when he's angry! Hee hee!) The guy in the blue jacket is Ren and the girl's named Joy.

This screen is of the main villain, LanDi.

These other screens show scenery and one shows Ryo getting into a fight.
