View Full Version : I Really Can Not Believe No One's Talking About These Figures!?

These New fastforward figures look amazing and are what all of us have been asking for all along in this line but when Playmates actually does something good no one talks about? I'm sure there are some of you still out there who will still say they suck...but I just can't agree with that...the sculpting is great. The turtles look just like they do in the toon finally, splinter is amazing, and the dark turtles look huge in fact the figures actually look as if they could be size accurate as well!

I cant seem to decide if i like them. In some of the pictures they look really good and in some they just seem boring. I'll probably end up picking them up. Funny how the ninja turtle figures released so far really dont resemble the tv show characters at all.

These figures look awesome! I think it will just take some getting use to these future versions for everyone. After this next season maybe the turtles will be back to the present time again. This is promising developments though, that the 2007 movie figures will probably look incredible.:)

has anyone noticed that the weapon throwing turtles bases may reveal which dark turtle equals which turtle so if this is correct then that means that the tounge dangling dark turtle is raphaels equal and the finned one is dark donatello

I thought about this 2...and most of the time the turtle pictured with his tongue out is Mikey...are we sure which Dark Turtle is which?

BigApple3AM
02-18-2006, 09:35 PM
Underoath740: Yeah the turtles up to this point looked a lot like the original series turtles, so much so that if they just colored the pads, gave them pupils, and letters on the belt we'd have some pretty nice classic cartoon tmnt.

I think the new figures look cool, I'll get them for sure, might even get an extra set. There's still a lot to be desired but like I said before things are looking up.

The one with his tounge out is Dark Mike. You can see orange on him. There's purple on the one with the big arm pads, red on the one furthest to the right and blue on the one with the sword-like weapon.

The future turtles look quite a bit edgier than the first run turtles. Or at least taller. Kinda reminds me of Next Mutation in comparison. Perhaps this is a glipse at the modified art style. Though the turtles toys don't look much like their animated counter-parts all things considered.

Starscream

I don't know which one is which anymore. You would think the one with the bo would be Donatello but it says Dark Raph.

These images of the future turtles look far better than the static poses they had them in at Toy Fair. If wasn't for the sculpted crap they had they'd so be worth the money. As is, I'm a bit iffy.

The only thing that kinda ruins the dark turtles are the rather crappy head sculpts. I still can't get over how Buuish Leo's face looks. His coulda been stellar too :( . The tongue wasn;t really necessary but it does give a bit of flair to it while the one with the face gear looks alright. I guess they were going for a braindead look for the ankylosaur dark turtle? It works if that's what they were going for.

Ah, now these I like!:D Thank God the other ones that I hated were the action feature ones. The only thing I'd change are the heads on the Future TMNT, they look too small. Raph's pose is really cool, man I can't wait to get that figure!

How does everyone know that the Dark TMNT will even follow the traits of the normal TMNT? It's not like there's a turtle handbook that tells them "the turtle with the red bandana must have sais, the orange banadana turtle must stick his tounge out and be goofy" etc. Bear in mind I've only seen up to half of season 3, so if you guys know from episodes after that then my mistake:P

I like the looks of the dark turtles, I was really afraid that they will make them look the same way as the turtles, but with different skin/bandanna colors.

By the way, as already mentioned, I think the correct order is Dark Mikey, Dark Leo, Dark Don, Dark Raph.

I'm inclined to agree. I would like to see basic TMNT with their typical garp in this style...I think they'd look great.

Those dark turtles don't resemble the TMNT in any way. The skin tones aren't even accurate for which turtle they are. They shoul dhave all had different names. Anyways the desgins look cool but they still look as possable as a block of wood. And the lightsaber weapons are kinda lame -_-

I think these new action figures are bitchin awesome, which says alot from me because I feel that practicly all the TMNT toys from the new series are utter crap in sculpture.

I really, really like the way the future boys look. They look real lean and cool, and they're heads are actually shaped nicely. Their weapons are strange in shape though.

As for the dark turtles, I think they are in the order Don, Leo, Mikey, Raph. The thing is I think they mixed a few of the weapons up by mistake.

I do like the New sculpt too and they do look better than before bodywise....

now that I know those are supposed to be some sort of bad guys I think they are cool...

I don't think the dark turtles use the same weapons as the originals ;)

I think the first is Mikey because it has an orange detail. The second has blue, the third has purple and the last has red.

Besides, sticking a tongue out of the mouth is so Mikey!

when i first saw this i thought 'oh no O.o they look like the anime cartoon i heard of a few years ago...' but then again i like the faces and all....i like leo how his swords are well put away, raph is cool too, i wonder if he can store his weaons on his back belt or on the sides....i really miss the original where you could store his sais in the front, not only did it look neat but they dont bend like these new ones...then again the plastic wasnt soft like the originals...as for the cartoon---i'm a bit worried i mean they mention the show to be less serious and more comical....O.O they might just screw up mah fave show u.u agh...damn them for going on a new approch.  :dead:  :x :|

I read somewhere these figures are coming in July. I doubt they'll wait for a Fall release, since Fast Forward will have already begun. It's logical for these to come out by the end of Summer, before Fast Forward.

:o The only figure I have a problem with is that odd-looking "Sterling" character...I dunno, looks like something from a bad Japanese cartoon. (ugh.)

Yes, these toys look cool and are a definite improvement over the current 2K3 line, but the jury's still out on wether or not this whole "Fast Forward" thing will actually pan out, or ultimately bring about the demise of the franchise (Good Lord -- NO!). It seems to me they threw in that Sterling character just for the sake of -- err, I don't know -- throwing something in. In any event, I'm not sure fans of the franchise (e.i., all of us) won't be alienated by the upcoming FF season. Did the 'toon really need such a radical departure?

It's definitely shaping up to be another "Red Sky" fiasco...

shredder hasn't been in the show in some time his adopted daughter Karai is now taking on the roll of Shredder.....but no I do have a feeling Baxter Stockman, Bishop, & perhaps The Rat King may be in the future but who knows....but from what we've been told they are planning on a bunch of new villians for the future series.

Wow just look at that figure with the funky hair and goggles.....worst figure ever! Pardon me for a moment while I barf.

I really like the future Turtles but I think fully removable armor would make them more appealing. I doubt they'll go this way in the end, all that stuff seems sculpted on. The weapons... I love them. What can I say, I'm a sucker for translucent colored plastic. Dark Turtles look good though I'd change a few things here and there.

Too bad Toybiz looses Marvel Legends at the end of the year... then Hasbro picks it up.

*gulp*

Although recently I've been impressed by Mattel (I never thought I'd type that). Their DC Superheroes line is quite impressive.

Back to TMNT, I wish Playmates did more to please the older market but honestly, they've been pretty good concerning secondary characters and regularly shipping figures and consistent with their case assortments.

Then again, having four main characters does mean you can basically have four variants with each case. Either way, its not like they give us cases of 20 turtles and ONE shredder. Ugh... brings back memories of Batman.

I just want a little more useful articulation (actually, just make the articulation the biker don had standard) and an emphasis on scale. And maybe a little less on the whole random variants but then again, they ARE toys, I loved the original cave turtles line and love this version. I strongly doubt that the 20 year old college student is their target market.
