...To bad desicions? Think about it: All those pointless toys that had nothing to do with the cartoon and what not. Example: The army/air force/ marine turtles? The Hockey Leonardo? Soccer Raph? Desert Storm Leo/Don. I really don't want this to happen. It'd be awesome if they can keep it to the toon and comics, maybe a set of 2 packs, Comic book and cartoon versions, but please, no Super Hero Mike, no Frito Bandito Mexican Mike, No Cowboy Leo, no junk.
Sure, the Ninja Turtles with the Mech suits were cool, and still would be, and the coil action ones would be awesome. But no pointless crap.

It doesnt really bother me. If you dont like 'em dont buy 'em, whats it matter. The kids will probably like 'em and thats who the show is directed to.

I don't want them to, but then again, you can only make so many figures the same when the show only has about 5 main stars... :D

Any pictures? Maybe they won't be as stupid... But I need to see them first. I'll probably buy anything with Casey, because he can't change too much.

If you watch the new intro, you can see the Turtles riding skateboards, bikes, etc. I firmly believe this is what the the "Extreme Sports" TMNT meant. :| Of course, I could be wrong but I doubt it. :P
Well, the extreme sports ones won't stray to far from the cartoon. They'll probably jobs have helmets on and stuff, plus in the new intro it even has them skateboarding and stuff anyways, so its cool.

Are you guys trying to say that you won't be buying "Mountain Climbing Leonardo" anytime soon?

I want any TMNT toy wether it be X-treme sports turtles, Special Forces Turtles or Stoner Turtles  there no toy to off topic in my eye

Hehe, but there's a line where you'd start getting reluctant to buying them. I know for myself that there is no way that I'd buy a Mountain Climbing Leonardo figure for a higher price than the original Leonardo. Its just a complete waste of money.

Hm.... back when I was a kid, if an item like that ever got released, Parent groups would go nuts, telling other people how they should raise their kid, and telling them not to buy this product! Haha...
Sad but true I'm afraid...

Ok...while I collected the original TMNT line in the 80's, I soon became extremely fatigued with the out of hand variants and themes. I mean Elvis, Star Trek, Dinosaur themed TMNT? Please. I dont care how big a TMNT fan one is, I just cant see how anyone could like all those endlessly goofy a$$ and horrible spinoff theme lines.

Elvis-themed TMNT? Sorry, I don't believe there ever was any. Playmates may have made lots of variants, but they're not that stupid. There were, however, figs that came with musical instruments (electric guitars, etc.) and that could be what you're thinking of.

Don't try and justify how stupid Playmates is. I believe they are plenty stupid enough to think an ELvis Mikey would sell.Hell, a Brittney Spears April would probably be made if the new toon had come out a year or so ago. Maybe even a Fred Dirst Raph.

They have only one goal: To make $£€. If they think there is any chance that some stupid kids will buy "The back street manhole Turtles" They will produce them.

I hated the original variants! Why? because when I was growing up I never had a normal Turtle, they were all "Olympic Athelete Leo" or "Davy Crocket Raph" I did have a normal Mike, but unfortuantely I left it outside and it was destroyed by our lawnmower
However now that thats all said and done I now have all four "normal" Turtles so I'm all for SOME varients. Only things that happen in the show, Raph with his motercycle helment, the Turtles in their trademark trenchcoat, fedora desguises. ect.
"Q: Are there going to be billions of variants in this line? Not so much different versions (ie old comics, new comics, cartoon, etc.), but as ones that serve no purpose (ie Cowboy Mike, Basketball Don, etc.) ?
A: As far as I know, there aren't a lot of variants planned, but it's early yet and we have a long way to go. I'm not a big fan of variants, but we have to gauge what is selling in the marketplace"
Taken from the interview I did a while back.

Ooo.. *shudder* Stop scarin' me! Though, that reminded me of the Star Trek versions they had one time. Eessh...
I doubt they will go as far as they did with this line like the last time too. Of course, that also depends on funding and marketing interest too. It seemed that the TNM toy run only had a couple variants aside from the regular line too.

Yeah but they only had time for two series of figs and one came out after the show
So where did it say the there would be "Extreme Turtles"? And will they be seperate from the regular line?

Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Ever since 1998 everything has to be "EXXXXXTREEEEEMMMMMME!" This has to be the sillest and lamest media marketing ploy in recent memory. "Ok dude, Im gonan go watch some exxxxtreme sports and listen to some heavy exxxtremmme music, then Im off to eat an extremmmme burrito at Taco Bell and go for some exxxtreme snowboarding!"
Tough guy rap metal, 'extreme this, extreme that', boy bands/solo pop artist girls, cellphones, crappy extreme movies(XXX, Extreme Ops, Resident Evil, Fast and the Furious), etc...why are we still living in the late 90's when its 2003?
Man, I can see it now:
Leo "Mikey, what are you doing?"
Micahelangelo "Yo, Im just gettin' hella sick, kickin with with my bro, eatin some extreme pizza man...late!'

Man, in all of your posts it's either "horrific earlys 90s" or "still living in 1998"! Maybe you should find a way to transmogrify time back to 1988 where you can live in harmony.

Yeah I think the extreme sports turtles will be ok. I'm trying to recall what each one had. I think Mike had a skateboard, Raph had roller blades, Leo had a scooter, and Don had a bike. Maybe they'll come with turtles with more accurate cartoon looks.

All depends on how they go about doing them, if they just do a slight teek to an existing TMNT fig and put in the gear then screw it, same goes for just over doing the look if the extreme version. I can deal with a bit of Extreme gear but if its over board forget it. It they look like the Biker Raph the next mutation line then I'll be beating kids over the head for them, just enough to be cool, but not enough to over shadow the fact that they are utrtles
