I Loved The Mighty Mutanimals and have all 9 issues as well. They should have never died what a bad story to kill them.

It wasn't so much their being killed that bothered me, just that they could've been brought back to life.

Yeah, it was pretty tragic. I can just picture Mondo's girlfriend Candy about a decade later living by herself while raising a bunch of pet geckos because she never got over what happened.

Damn...thats messed up, seein' it was an Archie comic book. Wonder why when Mondo Gecko got mutated, he kept his hair? Wouldn't it have fallen out as he became half-gecko? :-?

Yeah, I thinks thats all of them.

Hey, weren't Wingnut 'n Screwloose actually aliens & not mutant animals? I seem to recall Wingnut being the last surviving member of his race of bat-like aliens & Screwloose helped them sleep by biting them or something.

He's not the only mutated character who didn't go bald. When Bebop got turned into a warthog, his mohawk stayed, wheras Rocksteady went completely bald.

Thats right, I had forgotten about that. Maybe he kept his mohawk because boars have hair that can grow in that way on their heads? I do know his mohawk got shorter, as I remember when he was human it was a pretty big mohawk.

I guess Rocksteady went bald, because rhino's really don't have alot of body hair, so naturally it just fizzled out? Mondo Gecko should have lost his hair, being a reptile as they have no hair. Leatherhead lost his hair when he mutated, but that was the comic book, not the cartoon version who was mutated from a normal aligator.

Were there any other mutants that kept the way their hair looked when the first mutated from a human? I know a good number of the mutants were mutated from normal animals, so it wouldn't apply for them.

It's fiction, hair or not depended on the writer who invented the mutant.

Mona Lisa had hair in the cartoon. Yeah, it heavily depended on the writer/artist whether hair was present or not. Though regular reptiles don't have any (but I'm finding some neat alternatives with characters) there is that matter of aesthetics. Hence why Venus and Mona Lisa both had breasts.

Who is Mona Lisa? i feel like should know this one...
On the TMNT website what comic series does the profiles relate to?

Kali

The comics relate mostly to Archie, it seems, though quite a few can cross over to most any universe. They're basically "melting pot" profiles.

Oh, and Mona Lisa was the Lizard Mutant in the episode "Raphael Meets His Match". She seemed to have a thing for Raph, but she was never seen after that.

This much...::pause for dramatic effect::....is true. :)

Yeah, whats up with that? What purpose whould breast under a shell serve? I had this same conversation with a friend of mine like a few months ago & we both agreed it didn't make much sense.

It doesn't make much practical sense, but art is rarely ever practical. They have breasts because that's the easiest way to make them recognizable as female. There's no way they're useable in breastfeeding and such. They have no purpose but to make the character look good. (And face it, logic aside, the two do look good.)

There's lots of places in fantasy art where you'll see something that doesn't "make sense". Because it's fiction and fantasy and they can get away with it.

The mutanimals died??? HOW?

Mondo_Gecko
02-07-2003, 08:23 PM
Null got the Gang of Four to kill them. Its really sad because in the letters section of Mutanimals it said the series was let go because of bad sales. Which was sad enough it made no sense for Archie to kill them. I don't think they should have. Like if they didn't like the Mutanimals thats fine don't use em but don't kill em.

Jeph wrote this awesome fan fic where the Mutanimals faked there own death so they never died. It was great. Thats the way the story should have been.

Glad you like it, Mondo. I wanted to have an illustration to go along with that fic, but it never worked out.

What did Slash do? The Mutanimals series was cancelled but they had small min-chapters in the last pages of the regular TMNT comics. The last one I saw, the aliens whupped the Mutanimals' asses, and then Slash noticed crap going on near his island and set off to investigate. What happened from there?

it was so sad....
:(
slash thought the tmnt had killed his only friends.
but they explained it wasnt them and they were from the future...slash is presumed dead also in the archie world after helping the tmnt defeat Maligna & The Wyrdwing Slash told the turtles to go and he would finish the job the last thing it showed was him cryinging and the Wyrdwind crashing into the sun. I remeber that was one of the sadest days in tmnt history for me.
long live SLASH!

Yea, but it was no excuse to kill those guys off! I would've loved seeing Cudley try to go back and save the Mutanimals. Although Slash was definitly meant to die, considering he sacrificed himself.
