View Full Version : New TMNT episode captures

Is anyone interested in captures of the new TMNT toon?

I am already going to capture them for myself and encode them with Divx5.
I was thinking of making 60Mb files that could easily be downloaded, say through IRC or Direct Connect. I don't like using Kazaa for file sharing.

If interested, please post so I can get a feel of how many people would like to get a capture so I know if I should do this or not.

I have heard about a TMNT Direct Connect hub. If you have info on it, please share.

Thanks
DR

I don't remember the direct connect hub adress, But a guy named holm runs it. I think he is a registered member here.

IRC would ofcourse be great, but please make them a bit bigger. The Anersyeum encodes where also around 60 MB

And I want the new TMNT in a much better quality (say like the He-man eps)

SO maybe a fairly 90Mb at least

Is there any other way of downloading the files? My university blocks all the various file share programs such as kazaa and IRC. There is a file share program that is operated inside the Uni's network which I would share the episodes if I could get them (I've currently got the intro on it) but that's useless for getting the episodes unless someone within Uni already has them.

Well If you can't use those programs you should out a ftp up and ask someone who has the eps to upload.

OK Raph. I could do that. Everyone agree that 90Mb would be better?
If you want ones like He-Man, those are about 120Mb. LMK

For those who, like me, aren't that good with computers could you be a little more specific please. I've heard of FTP, even tried to set one up myself about a week ago to share the new eps on, but since I had no real idea of how it works I gave up.

Well basicly you run a sogtware on your computer, with wich you sgar a folder on your HD. Then people just connects to your ip. On the program you can set username password etc.

Can someone download the episodes and upload them to kazaa? I can't use direct connect, and don't understand IRC

Yah, I'd love to have high quality episodes of the new show on my comp. The He-Man episodes of the new series are a good example of high quality.

Hope your encoding goes well, you're going to be doing live capturing right?

90 megs is a bit much to me. I want to be able to burn a good number of them on CD...besides, just as long as they're not like those God-awful .rm rips where you can't see or hear a thing, then I can live with that.

You can always recompress episodes yourself if you want smaler size.

actually it's quite good, i was wondering, would you like to join the tmnt channel on autobotnation and help distro your encode? There are a few other capturers in the channel, plus the awesome 80s-cartoons which has more than 200 memebers, to really get your encode across.
to get onto this server type
/server irc.autobotnation.com in any mIRC window.
Then /join #ninja-turtles
It's a new channel so it's fairly small but it's getting there.

But yeah, screen caps. would be cool. If their good grabs I could make some desktops with them if people would be interested.

I was thinking, maybe the the 90 meg eps will be worth it. Looking back at the Aneurysm encodes, they're not exactly the best, so I'm hoping that the 90 meg encodes will live up to their quality. And the best part....NO SUBTITLES!

PWDESAI

there are now 20+ people in /server irc.autobotnation.com #ninja-turtles

it's really easy to join guys, we gots a lot of people, and nickokapo is hanging out in there as well as thekolkster etc... so there will be people you know :)

I'm looking forward to high quality encodings. If I had a TV In on my video card (if only I knew of the uses when I was selecting my card) I would be encoding them too at high quality.

160 megs is a fine size. And I have seen the quality, it is good.

Raphael
02-08-2003, 03:47 AM
160mb... I could get that. I guess it'd take like an hour or so, but that's cool. What sort of res would it be in?

And also, when it's up, could somebody please post the IRC trigger? I'm sure there will be a lot of people serving "New TMNT eps" and I won't know which is yours, DarthRaphael. :(

Thanks!

160 megs is a fine size. And I have seen the quality, it is good. Not if

1) You have a craptastic computer like mine and

2) You have less than a full spindel of CDs, which is true in my case

Besides, something tells me that less than 30 minutes at a good enough quality will be less than 100 megs.

Come on, people, they don't HAVE to be perfect, just better than the Aneurysm encodes...

Karpo_007
02-08-2003, 08:46 AM
Well I don't think there is any idea of loosing quality for size, but if you want to do decrease the quality, you can do it with virtual dub.

Ok, tell you what. I have it already worked out with Karpo and he gets my 160Mb file first, and he will put it on #tmnt-files. It takes 3 hours to get it to him. If I have time after that, I'll try out some 60Mb files. Maybe you can convince me to share smaller files on #tmnt-files. Make your cases here.

At any rate, the 160Mb files are definate and will always get uploaded to Karpo. If I end up doing smaller files, they will be done when I have time.

No problem dude. I'm the guy who runs the TMNT dedicated hub @ kohn.ath.cx. I wish many more could join and SHARE their eps. For a couple of weeks there were like 20 people online but not that many shared. However, I'd really like this hub to grow, so if you yourself could join it, I'd be really glad. Thanks for your awesome rip of the new cartoon by the way! :) Do you have several versions of it? I saw your post in the forum of #tmnt-files and you said something about having changed the "encoded by" screen.

So, guys... PLEASE join kohn.ath.cx and if you have any TMNT related stuff, be sure to share it with the community! Right now, I'm sharing 129 episodes of the old cartoon, the "TMNT tips", one of SeVen's rips of the old cartoon and the new 160 mb version of the new cartoon.

Please spread the word about this hub, it can be a great alternative to IRC. See you all there!

Oh no...american dubbed dragonball...can't...resist...censoring...ugh...BL EH :dead: *dies*
Oh that was for judging quality eh...it's fine :P if you want my opinion, make it a file between 90-120...y'know, something high quality ;) the size's worth it imo.
That's just my opinion tho do what you wish :D
Go 120 Meg! It's all about the quality! :D
Exactly...I know the files are big but geez people they're worth it  you can fit like 5 episodes in a cd, a 26 episodes series (so far) wouldn't take so many cds.
I think darthraph's first episode at 160 mb was fine quality, so i'd say go for encodes like that :D
You can get higher resolution at that filesize tho, but i'm not sure how it'd affect framerate and such.
Oh and i prefer IRC to DC anytime...i'm happy ya got a dc hub going on tho holm, darthraph used to have one but it has gone down or something, this one seems to be surviving, it's a great alternative to people who prefer DC so keep it up (no pun intended :p )

Yes it is, but dude...that's what the 60 mb/15 mb encodes are for, 56kers.
We should think about users with lower speed connections, but if the point is archiving the series, highest quality is a must have...they're airing it on tv, so we might not get the chance to get such a good source from where to encode again, so i don't think letting this oportunity pass only to please some people would be right, what about us? :p
Don't worry tho, there are many encodes, you can probably find the version that suits you better...i could send you the 15 mb version actually.
And i agree, 160 mb will do :P
