Is there anyone who can scan some high res pictures, of the few cards from the old set that showed the turtles mutating, there were 3-4 of them.

Thanks

Are you referring to the old animated series card set? If so, I'll see what I can do.

EDIT: Okay, these are from the set I got in an auction a while back. Card 11 is Yoshi reading with the turtles crawling around, I just thought them in their bowl was cooler. Surprisingly in this set, Leo, Raph, and Don have individual cards, but not Michelangelo.

Here it is really big:

You got the Hero Turtles set, dude. It has like 66 instead of 88. The Mikey transformation showed his chucks, so the UK had it deleted. That makes me wonder how they handled it in the ep... Anyway, I've always wondered what the extra 20orso cards in the US boxed set you could order directly from Topps were about.

Yeah, they say Hero Turtles on the back of them. I forgot about the Michelangelo in the UK thing. What the heck is wrong with showing nunchucks anyway? I mean, they are showing freaking katanas, weapons used to slice people up!

I had read about that (changes in the UK for TMNT back in the '80s).

Very odd stuff -- like "Hero" replacing "Ninja" in the title due to the TV standards over there having issues with "Ninja". And scenes with Mikey's nunchucks being removed. Along with some other stuff.

Thanks man, for some reason I always have had a thing with the actual mutation sequences in the turtle mythos, any one have the pictures of the comic transformation?

Any one have any freeze frames from Mondo Gecko? Wasn't he in the show and supposedly was there as well( at the cannister breaking"?

I may be remembering things incorrectly here, also does any one have pics of that mutant bull creature?

Yes, Mondo Gecko was in the Season 5 ep, "MICHAELANGELO MEETS MONDO GECKO", and the Season 7 ep, "DIRK SAVAGE, MUTANT HUNTER". Only the first was officially released in the US thus far (on DVD or even VHS from back in the day). I'd get you get you some screen-caps if I wasn't in the middle of a computer turnaround... :ohwell:

They're cards that feature artwork by Mirage artists. I think you've probably seen all of the art in other places, but I could dig out a set and give my favorite new scanner a workout if people are interested.

20 extra cards? So the UK set is only missing the Michelangelo card, not including extras?

As far as trading cards go, I have the first movie set too, minus the stickers. I got the trading card game starter set as well. Now I wish that they'd do a TMNT set for the superhero game VS System.

The US factory set had 88 standard cards, 11 stickers & 20 or 22 bonus 'can't get them in packs' cards.

No, the 20 cards (actually it's 22) gobo speaks of were in addition to the complete US set of 88 cards. The UK set was 66 cards (basically removing every Michaelangelo card).

Speaking of the extra cards, here they are:

They used alot of those images later on in the magazine and on folders and other items.

I know a lot of them look like they were used as both covers of the comic and on the graphic novels.

I have a copy of issue 2 that uses the pic where April is in the blue jumpsuit, and like her cartoon counterpart is very...gifted in the chest area.

Actually, all of them were used for covers except for the one with Don and the turtle by Dooney, which is from one of the portfolios.

Neutrino has made a ton of screencaps. Here's a link to the ones of the Mondo Gecko episode. The first two images show the mutagen:
