Did anyone else notice that Shredder was mentioned with reguards to the 2008 cartoon season? Very interesting indeed.

I hope more people might consider the same, because it's quite clear that money is the only thing that talks for The Powers That Be. Not, you know, fan opinion or anything logical like that.

I doubt I'll be buying anything that looks like the 2k8 artwork...bleh, and as was said above, supporting a cheaply executed, what seems to be half-arsed series.

Nnngh...cell phone charms, one of my collecting fetishes! How dare they! <3! And such random, obscure crap like mirrors and pillows and plush dolls! ...(squee!!!) I can only hope they make turtle band-aids again...I had to use my next to last Mikey one today because I had a booboo on mah' toe. Sadface.

Well...yea...I need an official Donatello plushie. ATM I have an official Raph and a build a bear turtle named Raph (he has a red bandana), and a build a bear turtle (with a purple bandana of course) named Donatello.

*suddenly realizes something* Hmm... my build a bear turtle Raph is turning 5 on wednesday....*feels old* ô,0

But a mirror would be cool. ATM I have a mirror on my wall I've had for years...it has a Don sticker on it *well tucked into a corner anyways, not actually stuck to the mirror itself*...I think I've had that sticker for 16 years now. *lol* I need an actual TMNT mirror darnit!

If for the new and upcoming series they have TMNT varients with new sculpts, I could see myself buying them (ala the FF toys). If they just reuse the same molds, forgetaboutit.

Anyway, i'd love to have a TMNT plush, having been foiled on sepperate occasions. I never got the Bean bag Hot Topic plush beans, and I never even seen the playmates plush. Maybe the big ones once, just not the smaller ones. If we have TMNT plush, I hope they aren't those ones you can only win in rigged carney games. I'd rather see things like little collectable bean bags of the TMNT. If they were to make retro plush, and they have Bebop, Rockstaedy and Krang, I'll be extremely happy.

Exactly, it takes allot to make me buy the turtles..and I'm not a big fan of the lizard looking movie turtles so if they stay away from that and make toys that look like the cartoon and use new sculpts and outfits I'll be tempted to get them..but not to much because I only usually buy the other characters.
The only next set of turtles I see myself buying are the NECA ones.

What a bunch of money hungry people over at Playmates. They really need to pay attention to what the fans want before they loose all the "old-timers". If they are just making figures only good enough to pass off as another toy to kids, we got a lot more crappy toys coming. I wonder sometimes if people from Playmates are people who post right here in this forum. They must know the Technodrome exists, so why not get the information straight from the hardcore fans? How hard would it be for some toy designer from Playmates to sit down in front of the computer and read what we have to say? With that said, I will probably still buy some of the stuff that was mentioned but I am saving my $ for something super special.

i think my original turtles are 4 years old, i got them at the end of the run. I got lucky. The new ones are bigger. I just hate the removable shell.

The only thing wrong IMO is the nicole richie boobs. Everything else is spot on. I don't think her head would look so big if she had the rack she should. I've loved April since 88 and so far i've seen her put on a grand total of 4 things. Figures, Austrailian Crayon box, Contact Paper, and one kids shirt. I'm starved for my favorite cartoon character and have been for a very long time, i'm not about to complain about an 80's April being put on anything. Tiny boobs or not. Afterall i'm probably one of about 3 people that would buy it anyway lol. :D

But I'm more interrested in everything but the wrist bands. I still wonder what the plush thing would be? Would they be similar to the Hot Topic Bean bags (that I missed) or would they be something else? I really hope they're retro too. I want a plushy Bebop and Rocksteady.

That's what I'd like to know, myself. I have heard about the mythical creatures, but have never seen one myself. I think they were about 2001-2003. I can't remember quite when, but my Cousin told me about them years back. hell, I don't even know if they truely existed.

No they want to but Peter won't allow it.

yeah, Laird has been taking pages from the george Lucas playbook, concerning he's over protective with his idea, but can't really seem to do great things with them. I find it a total copout that he won't give PM permission to just have a limited release run of OT type toys... but whatever. Put him on the map, but that's behind him.

For the bazillionth time, Laird is nothing like Lucas, especially when it comes to toys. Lucas lets Hasbro make an action figure of any character they want to, including characters that aren't even in the movies! Lucas is also willing to poke fun at himself and Star Wars in general. I'd like to see that from Laird.

Hmmm... maybe he's a little thicker than Lucas. I'm just saying, he wants what he wants, and doesn't think that the fans who put him into the spotlight in the first place are worth pleasing.

I think, even reguarding the fact he wants to put the show that put him and his (co-)ideas on the map behind him, there's nothing that really should stop them from releasing a collector's series line. I can respect, admire, and agree with the fact he doesn't want to do the OT over again (I still say copying it will be just that), but a toy line seems that it won't shed his ideals. But hey. At least he didn't sell out and turn the TMNT into High School Musical. (thinks of horrible alternate universe where Hillary Duff did the voice of April in TMNT)

But then, how are they getting away with retro T-Shirts? It all seems arbitrary.

Make no mistake. I like the guy and all, but I think that he could just bend the rules a little with something like this.

Now, if 4Kids were in on it, I'd really be upset.

Yes, that's exactly the case with Laird. However, Lucas does listen to fans and does what he can to keep them happy (well, mostly).

You don't have to be Miss Cleo to see that this isn't going to go anywhere good... and I agree with Rose, Lucas is a smart man who enjoys making money and seeing his creation dominate the toy world. Lucas hates that Holiday Special horribly and refuses to let it be released on DVD but still let Hasbro make a Boba Fett figure from it so Lucas never deserves to be put into the same category as Peter Laird. Also, it's looking like I may finally be getting my most desired figure from Star Wars next year (Yarna D'al Gargan) so I loves me some Lucas. :D

It's 'cause Mike's the best!!!!

They were kinda hidden in my store. Look carefully.

Don't look at me, I never promised pictures of those. ;)

But if they're referring to what I think they are, they weren't beanbags, just weird little plushes. I used to have some, but I sold 'em. I'll see if I can find a picture, though.

Ok, found one:

I have a similar Raphie, it's from Next Mutation though...oddly enough.

I used to have a big one of those (I won it in a crane machine at a grocery store :D). It's not actually from TNM, although the similarities are striking.

Meh... at least it looks better than the old ACE Teenage Mutant Hero Plushes (yes. it was an American Product that had the British name),

I guess TMNT are not best suited in plush form. Still want one.
