Hey there, I'm new to this forum as you can tell. Been a turtle fan for years and the new toon got me hooked again! Drop me a line, folks, just so that I know I ain't talking to empty air out there!
I do have a turtle question that's been bugging me all these years: In the old toons, they always go "heroes in a half shell"...now maybe people have talked about it before, but what exactly does "in a half shell" refer to / mean again? Or am I just being too literal?

Welcome to the forums! A half-shell is simply a half-shell. As in half of a full turtle shell. LoL, I hope that cleared it up

As in half of a full turtle shell.
Thanks Tokka...actually I'm more confused than before. All 4 turtles have a "full turtle shell" don't they?

LOL! I guess a "full shell" would fully enclose something, like a snail. Half-shell would only protect... well, half the body. So I guess that's why the Turtles are referred to as heroes in a half-shell. Of course, this is only my theory, since I've never thought about that phrase before. :embarass:
Anyway, welcome to the Technodrome, Vroomkid and J Legault!
*gives Vroom and JL mangos of welcome*
Enjoy your stay!

Thanks for the mango azure.
Finally, a solution presents itself - I have to thank both you and tokka for that. Now that I think of it, it makes sense about what you said. Thanks for clearing that doubt in my mind...it has been most frustrating (well not really, but still) for so long!
I justed wanted to say welcome, Vroomkid. Someone once argued me down that it was turtles on a half-shell and was supposed to be a joke for oysters on a half-shell. Of course i was right and its turtles in a half-shell. but i guess it could still be kind of a pun.

Thanks dukesdaddy.
Oysters in a half shell...hmm, it's surprising why the creators never came up with mutated oysters in the old toons amid the many different types of mutants.

Haha, doesn't matter, it works for me. It's probably some thing we're never meant to know anywho. Like Cowabunga, what kind of catch phrase is that?...I'll be surprised if that actually means something.
