I figured I'd start a thread for these figures. I'm really surprised by what all you can do with the same old base figure and new head sculpts. :P As it stands, I have series 1,2,3,and 6 and a few older figures they released before they "borrowed" from Toybiz (and now Hasbro) the concept of the Build a Figure wave of figures. Need despritly to find waves 4 and 5, as they have Wonder Woman, Terry "Batman Beyond" McGinnis, and the Riddler.
As I said despite basically being all the same body type, the series does a great job producing tons of DC's biggest stars and more obscure characters.
Here's hoping they keep it up for quite some time.
A little *too* Raph

My target is currently selling the wave with wonder woman and batman beyond. If I run across any shall I pick them up for you?

Thanks for the offer, Jest. I'll consider it and shoot you a PM.
Are they really any good? every time I've seen them I've never liked them, they look too bulky and bad sculpts....
i don't know..
I really want a good Flash toy, probably after Batman he's my favorite superhero.

I love this line, I'm not even a dc comics fan and this is where most of my money has been going.

Only ones I have are Clayface (because I learnt of the wired arms, which rock) and the KB's Unmasked Batman Beyond (who I refuse to open and I can't find the normal one!). I really hate the look of most of these figures. Their to overly muscular to be humans. I hate that in about comic books. Btw, Clayface doesn't have muscles and Batman Beyond is a teen (though the muscles make him look more like his the adult Terry from "Epilogue").
Still, their better than JLU figures.
These figures would be a whole lot better if not for the terrible QC. Of the last seven that I've gotten, I think six of them had stuck joints -- and poor Hal and Riddler had fused hips that refused to budge even after multiple heating and freezing attempts. With Hal I just twisted the darned leg off, used the extra leverage to pop open the crotch, and glued the peg back on pretty stiffly... and with Riddler I just gave up and left him with no hip articulation. Couldn't return him for another one, either, since DCUC distribution is so terrible that I've never seen a Riddler figure since that day (and Riddler was the only figure in the Wal-Mart wave that I ever encountered). I've never seen a Batman Begins, Harley Quinn, Aquaman, or Red Superman either.
So I kinda hate the DCUC line. And Mattel. I do think that Hasbro's MLs don't look nearly as good as the old ToyBiz ones did, but I've also never had a Hasbro Marvel figure break on me or come with super-stuck joints. Point for Hasbro.
Also, did I mention that Riddler was covered in grease right out of the package? It was like someone at the factory realized he'd glued the figure's legs together and dipped it in oil to try to fix it. So nasty.

I think it's funny you guys are complaining, I can't even find these figures in PA, not a single Wal-Mart in my area even got their own exclusive series and the scalpers eat these things up so quickly I'm lucky if I have a chance to find them.
I'd be happy to find a Riddler with stuck joints or no at this point.
I guess i'd complain also though if I could find these things easily, but I can't so I guess it's sort of a you don't know how lucky you are till it's gone sort of thing or in this case never had in the first place.

I have tons of DC direct figures and the only one that I ever got defective was Armored Batman from the Alex Ross Justice line. His wings came with one of the snap on holders backwards and his right leg ripped when I moved it. However he still stands perfectly fine. I bought another one and he was perfect so no problems.
Honestly these "toys" are meant for display purposes. Even if you open them you can't get most of them to stand unless you leave them the way they were in the package. The Riddler I have is from the Hush line and his legs don't move just his arms.
I don't have as many from the DC Superheroes line as I do from others but I do have Batman Beyond, Killer Moth, and Black Manta. I also just got Harley Quinn but she hasn't come yet. So far I was fine with how they moved and had no issues with them. They are easier to pose in different positions but I prefer ones with bases that are easier to stand up.

lol oh man that is bad hahaha:lol:
Hahaha! I'm not surprised though, Jester -- I've seen so many misassembled DCUC figures it's not even funny. In fact, I've never seen an Ares figure that didn't have the biceps and forearms reversed. There are tons of Wonder Women with two right or two left thighs. It's ridiculous.
Spitfire: Yeah, I was talking about DCUC, not DC Direct. I have had a few DC Direct figures with stuck joints, but none of them actually broke on me -- the one that did break was Batzarro, and I think that's mostly because his arms were on so darned tightly. They're so tight, in fact, that I literally just stuck the broken arm back in the socket and it still holds fairly well. I do prefer my toys to have more articulation, so ideally I'd prefer DCUC, but the way it's worked out I have way more DC Direct figures (that I frequently find them on sale/clearance for $8 or less is also a factor).
VaughnMichael: Poor distribution is among my problems with DCUC -- it's not just that they're scalper bait, but also that Mattel is doing a piss-poor job of getting them to the consumer. Yet they have no problem clogging the pegs with crappy 5" Dark Knight repaints and repackaged repaints... ugh.

Sorry I've just grown tired of the attiudes around here I feel like starting to call this place the Negadrome.
Anyway that I can understand and agree because as you saw me say not a single Wal-Mart in my area got its own exclusive DCU series.
I really wanted that Amazo figure to, and I hate to buy these things online because:
1 it takes the fun out of finding them in the store.
2 You don't know how the paints going to be.
3 Shipping is always such a killer I'd rather waste the gas.

They're cheaper online actually and most people are nice enough to post pictures they took, though they're not always quality.
It sucks but it beats just never getting them. I never saw any of the Wal-mart ones either. In fact I tried getting The Riddler online from that line and they charged up the ass for him so my logic doesn't always apply. That's why I settled for the Hush Riddler.

Where have you seen them cheaper online? Even if you save a little bit per figure, the shipping pretty much puts the figures over the store prices. But then, it's possible I'm thinking of cases in which your logic doesn't apply. :)
Also, the Hush Riddler probably has roughly the same amount of functional articulation as my DCUC version. :x

EBay, in almost every case I get them for a few bucks cheaper, shipping included, or the same price they'd be in the store. Either that or the comic stores around me charge a lot but most of the figures I buy are 15-20 bucks in the store a pop.
I just picked up a brand new Deathstroke for 13 yesterday.
