Ghostbusters is one of my favourite toy lines of all time, and I know that there are other people that collect and love Ghostbusters as much as I do, so I thought that id start a thread for them. Here we can discuss all the different Ghostbusters lines, such as the classic Real Ghostbusters from Kenner, Extreme Ghostbusters from Trendmasters, the NECA line, and even Filmation's Ghostbusters made by Schaper. I have most of the Kenner Ghostbusters line, I got all the figures, vehicles, and the fire station. which in my opinion was one of the best playsets ever made for a toy line. Im only missing a few of the role play items. Ghostbusters was the second largest line that Kenner produced and one of the best toy lines of the 80s. so lets talk about your favourite Ghostbusters toys.

The only ghostbusters toys I ever got were Fearsome Flush, Green Ghost, some red Banshee thing that puked green slime and the lifesize proton pack. I loved running around with the proton pack as a kid.
I had the Ecto-1 car, Pete Venkman, Egon Spengler, Bug Eyes and a scary mailman bloke.

I have the Ecto-1 and a color changing Egon and I use to have a few other figures. I still have my Ecto-1, but for the life of me I don't remember where it is (I'm thinking my closet...the horror!)

Count me in as a fan, loved this movie since i was 3 in 1985 when my mom bought the tape for me. My two brothers Neil and Mark saw this movie in theaters in the summer of 1984, i've been a fan since then watching the Real Ghostbusters (I own it on DVD, don't have to watch it on Youtube anymore), eating the cereal, collecting the toys, i had the firehouse with Ecto-Car for christmas in 1986, i had pajamas, coloring book, and even saw the sequel in theaters.
This year is the 25th anniversary of this movie! there is gonna be a third movie in the works.

yeah, I wish they made one too but I guess they felt that a character in a wheelchair wouldnt sell too well.
heres a pic of a custom Garrett that someone made. it's funny cause no one knows who made it, not even the website where I got the pic.

and Cropsy, it seems like we did alot of the same things growing up. :)
and I cant wait till they make part 3, but at this point I still don't know if it's going to be CG or live action.
mailman bloke
Isn't that redundant? :P If 'bloke' means the same thing as 'man', you'd call the letter carrier a 'mailbloke', eh? :goof:

More likely, I think, that they determined it too costly to produce.

Yeah, they would have to make the wheelchair a vehicle, but they can't include a figure, so Garrett's figure would have "Wheelchair sold separately"
Btw, I had completely forgotten about Extreme Ghostbusters. I think i watched a few episodes and then found out they didn't make Garrett figure, so I never watched again (That, and I think it came on a channel/time I didn't watch).

yeah, Extreme Ghostbusters wasnt the best version of the Ghostbusters, but I still liked it. the last two episodes called "Back in the Saddle" were great though cause they brought back Peter, Winston, and Ray for one more adventure. you can probably find it on youtube.
as for the toys, I thought Trendmasters could have done more for the figs. but at least they gave us a awesome Ecto-1.

I never understood why the hell the Ghostbusters toys did those Tex Avery cartoon double takes, especially since it's grossly out of character (even for Peter) and they never actually did that in the show (unless they did it in the Slimer segments... man, I gotta save up and get that box set...) Maybe that's why I never got any of them. i do have the Ecto 1 vehicle, though.

That hasn't stopped like 10 Prof. X figures from coming out.

He has 5 figures total. It took forever for Professor X to get a toy, and then he had a hollowed chair where his legs went (1993-4 or so). It wasn't until Patrick Stewart played him that he got a new figure. They made three off of the Patrick Stewart Prof. X (though I think all of them are the same figure, so you might say it's only one). Then they made one for Marvel Legends after they started build-a-figures. He came with Galactus' head, so people had to get him for the BAF. I think I'm one of the few that got Prof. X just because it was Prof. X. Btw, anyone need a Galactus head? :P
One of these days, people really should stop saying, "well, DC and/or Marvel got away with it. Why Couldn't this much smaller franchise do the same?" It really calls your intelligence into question...

you're right. Extreme Ghostbusters wasnt that popular to begin with, and if a franchise doesn't do well then it's not likely that a company will put further effort into the products. Trendmasters did have more stuff planned but lack of interest killed the line.
