View Full Version : March 8 - the Women's Day!
03-08-2002, 11:51 AM
Hello everyone! I congratulate all the girls and women on the 8th of March (if this holiday is celebrated in your country).
I hope I'm not the only girl in the forum
03-08-2002, 12:41 PM
Hello Deskjet Shredder!
No, you are not the only woman on the forum. I am one also!
Sadly my country doesn't celebrate Women's Day. Though it really should. I mean, come on, we hold the world together!
03-08-2002, 12:44 PM
Hrmmm... I never been aware of this day. Is it an American traditon...? *checks calendar*
I haven't heard of it either! I couldn't find much info on it.
03-08-2002, 12:59 PM
Sounds cool to me...
03-08-2002, 01:03 PM
That holiday is celebrated in Russia. As far as I know, in America there is also such a holiday for women, isn't it? It is called Mother's Day or something like that...
Yes, Mother's day. Hey, cool, I love learning about customs and holidays of other countries!
03-08-2002, 01:13 PM
I love to learn that kind of stuff too.
03-08-2002, 01:18 PM
Ooooo Oooooo Mothers Day on Sunday here! I have already got a card from Ana. She made it a play school. All together now Awwwww.
03-08-2002, 01:20 PM
I cant wait til St. Patricks day!
*runs from off topic clowns armed with sillystring and squeezecheese*
03-08-2002, 01:47 PM
And there's also a Secretaries Day, which was started back when they were predominately women. ;P
But I'll take Women's day, since I'm not either a mom or a secretary.
03-08-2002, 04:01 PM
No, I am NOT a woman, in case you're wondering  You speak the truth, Deskjet. It is, indeed, women's day here. How do I know? There was a table set up in front of the student union today, and volunteers were passing out tiny flowers to celebrate women's day. So I guess it is recognized in America. Well, at least it's celebrated at my college...
03-08-2002, 04:14 PM
Happy Woman's Day to me! Happy Woman's Day to me! Oh, and yeah, happy Woman's Day to all of you other chick types.
03-08-2002, 04:18 PM
Gee thanks!
03-08-2002, 04:24 PM
You're welcome! Heh heh heh...I'm feeling fiesty today! Look out world!
03-08-2002, 04:31 PM
Too bad there isn't a national holiday celebrating mutant turtles. Ah well, I'll eventually have my time in the sun
03-08-2002, 04:35 PM
Reptile Day, Azure, Let ALL the wild Reptiles of the world celebrate their herpetologiness!
03-08-2002, 04:39 PM
Herpetologiness? You know, I'm sure they have medication for that!
*prepares to duck*
03-08-2002, 04:43 PM
*bap* Herpetology, the study of Reptiles?
03-08-2002, 04:46 PM
I know! I'm just being evil and fiesty! If its any consolation, I'm a taphophile!
03-08-2002, 04:50 PM
YOu sicko!!!

Taphophile: One who loves cemeteries and funerals. This and not necrophilia is the proper name for the condition exhibited by Harold in Harold and Maude. Taphophiles show an interest in the trappings of death: necrophiles want your body, cold.
03-08-2002, 04:58 PM
And thus ends your vocabulary lesson for the day! Any questions class?
03-08-2002, 05:14 PM
*nervously raises hand*
Can't we just have a Reptile Day instead of a Taphophile day??
03-08-2002, 05:21 PM
 Its scaring Azure. It sounds a little odd to me. Were you a mummifier or something in a past life?
03-08-2002, 05:40 PM
*shrug* Sure beats cloning!
03-08-2002, 05:44 PM
 if the clones were here, i'd let them bap you!!!
03-08-2002, 06:00 PM
03-08-2002, 06:03 PM
YOu too, Tatsu!
~where's casy jones when ya need him?! hmm... caseyClone??? ~
03-08-2002, 06:29 PM
I'm sexist, I'm sorry.
03-08-2002, 06:30 PM
i know that women should be our servants. Stick to the teaching at schools and make food for the man that is working hard.
03-08-2002, 06:34 PM
Bad thing to bring into this thread buddy!
03-08-2002, 06:36 PM
Just kidding! lol! People are so serious.
*raises eyebrow* Honestly... better be jokin', dude.
03-08-2002, 06:39 PM
03-08-2002, 06:43 PM
Good, cuz if it was, i would NOT be happy. We want the technodrome to be a place for everyone, no matter what race, gender, religion, nationality, favorite turtle, favorite pizza topping, height, weight--
wait, im getting ahead of myself...
03-08-2002, 06:45 PM
ok ok. Fine by me. I won't do any jokes no more. Just to be on the safe side.
*smacks her forehead* Geez, there goes my guilt factor. We're dropping this. But any good comedian knows that you have to know your audience.
03-08-2002, 06:49 PM
ok great advice. Are you Splinter??? You sure sound like him
03-08-2002, 06:52 PM
We know him... and act like him in more ways than others.
03-08-2002, 06:57 PM
WOW! Really!? Like what ways?
We get all wise and stuff. No physical similarities I hope!
03-08-2002, 07:01 PM
Kali, you got some fur on your upper lip, but other than that... *flees from bappage*
Grr... *runs after Machias with Anime mallet*
03-08-2002, 07:06 PM
I sure would be scared if you look like him. FREAK ME OUT!
03-08-2002, 07:09 PM
*climbs a tree to avoid the mallet-wielding psycho*
Cant get me for that comment now!!
03-08-2002, 07:11 PM
I sure can't, your to high. I can't reach you.
03-08-2002, 10:36 PM
Dang, I need Kali to teach me how to manifest an anime mallet out of thin air.
There is much for me to learn....
03-09-2002, 07:08 AM
The same for me also.
I'm not sure, but I think only girls can generate mallets. For smacking baka upside the head.
But I'm not an expert. *gets all teary eyed* I need more anime!
03-09-2002, 10:43 AM
hrmm... or they sick their pokemon/digimon/medabot after 'em.
(has no idea where this thread is going)
03-09-2002, 02:53 PM
 I don't know where it's headed too, but it looks like it's going in the anime direction. Now that I think about it, I've never seen a guy manifest an anime mallet to nail someone. It's usually the girls. Gah, I need to buy some anime when I get back home....it's been weeks since I've seen any
I'm lucky I guess. The International channel (check your local cable listings) shows some un-dubbed DBZ and another anime every Sunday. They're showing Slayers now, and it was Earthians before.
And then our local public station shows dubbed and subtitled anime sometimes.
03-09-2002, 03:10 PM
Ah bummer. I don't think I get the International channel. I remember someone telling me that it shows all kinds of anime. My only real source of anime right now is the Anime Club here, but I haven't been able to go the last four weeks. I can't wait to get back home and start watching anime on Cartoon Network again. Oooh, and I'm planning to buy some anime DVD's, too.
Ha, I forgot about Cartoon Network. I watch that all the time too.
03-09-2002, 03:25 PM
I use to watch Cow and Chicken on CN. I kinda wish they'd play the TMNt Anime. It needs to be dubbed or Close captioned, but it looks really good.
03-09-2002, 03:32 PM
Ya, I wish someone would put subtitles on the TMNT anime. I'm curious as to what they're saying. I love how Shredder looks in the anime, though. I think it suits him quite well.
03-09-2002, 03:38 PM
Yeah, that and Splinter and the guys sound hot!
Im new to anime, su i never understood sweatdrop until i saw the shows, and the way the faces go beserk are a riot.
03-09-2002, 03:40 PM
Anime. I wish we had more of that over here. Sadly all I have seen is Tenshi and a few Manga flims.
03-09-2002, 03:43 PM
Anime is really awesome! I love it. The animation is (usually) very good, and the zany antics that go on are just too funny! And I enjoy the facial expressions, too, Machias! They're a riot!
03-09-2002, 03:46 PM
Yeah, i saw the TMNT anime on the ninjaturtlesnetwork website. krang sounds like a lil squeaky toy!
03-09-2002, 03:48 PM
Hey wha? How'd you do that then Machias?
My computer is pobably too slow to cope anyway!
03-09-2002, 03:49 PM
what? the anime? you just click on the two pics and they should start right up.
I saw those too. Too cute. I wonder if I could talk my anime-obsessed friend into tracking them down for me.
03-09-2002, 04:01 PM
It Would be cool to see more of thoes eps. Its interesting to see how the Japanese writers see them and write them in the stories.
I think there were only three ever made, like a mini series.
03-09-2002, 04:04 PM
Well, we better find number three then! :eyemouth:
Actually, episodes two and three were on Ninja Turtles Network. Number one is the elusive one.
03-09-2002, 04:09 PM
Indeed! I'm still curious about the background of the anime series. There seems to be no info on how/why the TMNT were loaned to Japanese writers and artists. I've checked the official site about a month ago for info, but there wasn't any
03-09-2002, 04:12 PM
ah, okay, the third seemed a lil' odd since they had those vest things on and the pagoda they were standing on was about to collapse. We will have to definitely look for the first one and see what their version of origin is like.
Last night I played a blank tape at full blast. The mime next door went nuts.

There was a site based around the anime, but it's disappeared.
03-09-2002, 04:15 PM
I remember seeing some thing about that. you clicked on the link and it showed to girls talking about the site disappearing. strange...
03-09-2002, 07:52 PM
Hmm...I've heard of that site too and how it disappeared, but that was a few weeks ago. I wish I rediscovered my fandom for the TMNT a lot earlier.
03-09-2002, 07:56 PM
NO kidding.... I went back home during spring break and found my COOTS tape missing! My brother wouldnt help me, so now i dnot have it! grr...*shakes angry fist at brother*
I had seen some of the action figures, like Splinter morphing into the turtlevan, and some screwed up Donatello. Im wishing i had gotten them now...
03-09-2002, 08:00 PM
Yep, I regret not getting more TMNT merchandise now that I'm older.
You should use your talons to threaten your bro into submission. Maybe then he'll give you your COOTS tape back. I wouldn't be too happy if someone stole my COOTS tape.
03-09-2002, 08:06 PM
Nah, if he knew about my change, he'd probly go after me with a shotgun. Ive hid this thing for as long as i could remember. Only the Turtles and you guys know about it.
03-09-2002, 08:10 PM
That's too bad. I hope you find the tape soon! It's a rare piece of TMNT history. If my cousin's husband has finished making me a CD copy, I'll try posting the MP3's somewhere, maybe on Audio Galaxy. Then all turtle fans can rejoice while singing to their favorite Turtle tunes
03-09-2002, 08:13 PM
Sounds good.
I was able to find Enter the fly on some x-entertainment site, and it also had a review on the very first episode. I liked it, it was really detailed and was hilarious to read. I actually found the link on the UnderManhattan Forums, where many of the folks here visit as well.
03-09-2002, 08:15 PM
Oh ya! I read that article! It was definitely entertaining! Ah, the nostalgia of it all.....
03-09-2002, 08:19 PM
It was great. the guys looked about twelve, Splinter looked-well, ratty, and April looked like a hooker!
03-09-2002, 08:21 PM
Woah, I don't remember April looking like a hooker! Maybe I should take another look...
03-09-2002, 08:25 PM
The way her face and hair were done, she looked lak' a ho' !
03-09-2002, 08:49 PM
 Never thought of it that way!! Heh heh, poor April.
03-10-2002, 10:13 AM
I know. Sorry April
