View Full Version : T-Drome Role Call!

Alright, where the f*ck is everyone? Things have been dead around here lately, I want updates from everyone! NOW!

I've been doing a ton of digging through the forums, both through specific threads, as well as the archives, and I miss how many awesome people used to post here several times a day. What the hell are you guys all busy doing? I want to know!

Not much of a role call, but I guess that's better than nothing. :P

I'm glad you're all still here, it's just that at one point there was very little break in the Drome action. My trawling of the archives has left me grasping at forum nostalgia.

Present and accounted for. However, I'm building my new, epic website that will beat everything that previously was there.

Also, most threads just are boring these days. I know "Post a good one yourself, then" and all that, but I honestly can't be arsed right now. Maybe later.

08-28-2009, 08:24 AM
I've been busy making the most of my summer, and now I'm about to start my final year of college. I'll still be around, though. I know you miss me, Peanut. <3

I know I am not really known for being around in the good ol'days and really getting down in convos.

MAYBE it is because many things have been talked out on here, fans feel that they know all the history and have not much else to talk about...

THAT SAID, We are still in major depths of production on the Turtle Doc, and have some extremely cool tidbits of history and major possible outcomes that will have you all talking and posting like made I'm sure.

At fan expo there will be a short section of the doc screened, there is one small story as part of the toy history teaser section that should be pretty surprising to most of you. In fact, as far as I know no one knows most of these little treasures of the first days in the toy line, so we will be teasing everyone with one of those cool nuggets of gold we dug up.

Obviously as usual I can't promise anything yet, but crossing our fingers there's some cool shissnit coming!

It's rare that I post anymore though I'm on frequently. Very little of the stuff I feel I relate to anymore these days. I used to post a lot more when it was more old toon centered. Not that I don't like the other incarnations of TMNT it's just the universe I prefer for my own reasons. Very rare these days that you get anything more than a complaint about the DVD releases for the old toon.

I've also been doing research for a story I'm writing - mostly Genetic Engineering and Geologic maps of earth and other planets. I'm still debating whether to do a book or a graphic novel...

It's cute how you like to flatter yourself like that, but if I joined a Ninja Turtles forum for friendship or popularity, 1) I'd have to be insane, and 2) I wouldn't go around the General Board making vaguely inflammatory topics.

The thread that so incensed you, by the way, was made only to point out how f*cking ridiculous the Current Events section is when half the threads are about dead celebrities, from the major to the incredibly minor.

Not exactly, I haven't had a real place to live since last October. We stayed with Mary's parents til June when it just became unbearable. Bad enough we were having work problems, but her drunk-ass Dad calling her a worthless piece of sh*t every five minutes and threatening to kick my ass didnt help. Her mom was a little better, but like all pill-poppers she was dangerously, violently unstable. We finally got kicked out because Mary started having a nervous breakdown after her Dad told her to go kill herself, her mom blamed me for all Mary's problems, and I said "What about you? You had twenty-some years to raise her to be a stronger person, and you didn't. How is that my fault?" So she broke a phone over my head and called the cops.

Since then we were staying with a string of unsupportive relatives who all swear they have worse lives than us, and we just a couple weeks ago got lucky and got this place. It's only half an apt that we're renting from this old guy, but all the bills are included except half the electric, so it'll be good enough to save some money with until one of the places she's applied at actually hires her, then we can do better. I start my personal trainer certification course in two weeks, that ends at the end of October, so hopefully after that I can finally get the job I've always wanted, and hopefully make decent money with it.

So we're not doing perfect, but the last couple years have been lousy. Hopefully its all uphill from here.

Appreciate it guys.

Just to prove that life never wants you to get too comfortable: her brakes failed at a red light this afternoon and we rear-ended someone. We got the worst of it, front end is pretty well f*cked. Her dad's her mechanic, and actually just did the brake pads last week; apparently he didnt do very well. But of course they worked fine when she took it over there today, so now he doesn't wanna fix it, but apparently will, just dunno when. Sucks, b/c between getting my textbook, starting the class, her looking for work and other stuff, we have a TON of stuff to do this week, and now our only vehicle is out of action until who knows.

Ah f*ck it. This kinda thing happens to us too much for me to even get mad at it anymore. Just wish it didn't happen, especially at the worst possible time. But we'll make it work.

Again, appreciate the support.

Neck's a little stiff, and it's cracking in a spot it didn't normally, but no pain. I'm overdue for a visit to the chiropracter anyway. My guy's awesome, just can't really afford it. Maybe he'll spot me like he did last time, when a guy at work dropped a file cabinet on me. Good times.

I don't think too many 'Dromers can handle the air out here in Joisey (or the iced-tea textured tap water), so they tend to favor more inhabitable (read: soft) locales. J/K, guys. But nah seriously nobody lives near me that I'm aware of.

Mary's dad says he's gonna do SOMEthing to the car Monday, but I'unno what. Hopefully she can borrow his for a few days, b/c we gotta go food shopping, I gotta pick up my college text in Edison, I probably have work tomorrow and Tuesday, and Tuesday evening my class starts. Not to mention all the other stuff we got going on this week past that. So here's hopin'.

I didn't post b/c:

Quit my job. Boss had me doing potentially illegal $$ things and wanted me to clean hobo-poop out of the back parking lot. Not worth it. I draw the line at going to jail AND being asked to handle human feces.
Trying to launch business. On the road talking with local stores about carrying our comics. Writing out a business plan.
Gearing up for another batch of conventions. Small Press Expo in Bethesda, Baltimore Comic Con, maybe Big Apple Comic Con (we're wait-listed).
Finding a new place to live. 'Quitting' means not being able to afford our current home.

Best of luck, Leo. That personal trainer thing sounds like a good way up. Kudos for still tugging on your bootstraps. Lots of people give up, and you've got my respect for pushing ahead with those classes.

Ben, what's with the kid in your signature? The wrestler makes sense; the angry-lookin' teen in the audience of hundreds, I'm not too clear on.

Basically, if you're a fan of wrestling, preferably the WWE, you'll know that the former WWE superstar Jeff Hardy (who is controversially also my favorite wrestler) was the most POPULAR superstar on the card. Followed by the current World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk, who is the most HATED wrestler on the card. Punk, who is straight edge (meaning he doesn't drink or do drugs, which is the TOTAL opposite of Hardy), recently beat him in a Championship match a couple of weeks ago, which under the stipulations, the loser of that match had to leave the WWE.

Obviously, Hardy lost and said his good byes. The next week, Jeff Hardy's theme music starts, and the crowd goes nuts.

Annnnnnnnd... you pretty much know what happens next. The sig explains it all:

The most brilliant 'FU' to fans ever.
