Neil Peart of Rush

The dude handles time signature changes as smooth as a Benz on the Autobahn.

There is no better than Danny Carey of TooL along side the god of time signatures Tomas Haake of Meshuggah. There those are THE top two... can't beat em!

Dango from Amber Pacific is killer...plus he graduated from Belmont University (where I go)

Uh...it's hard to decide a favorite percussionist. I mean most of the celebrities in the percussion/marimba community are pretty much jerks. If I had to land on one, it would have to be Emil Richards. Recorded thousands of film soundtracks (was in Ratatouille, vibe dude in Sex and the City, xylophone dude in The Simpsons, pretty much everything). It'll take me a while to compile to great marimbists but I do love the works of Michael Burritt and Eric Sammut.

I'm gonna have to go with John Bonham, Steve Gadd and Steve Jordan. The drummer from Third Eye Blind is also amazing, but I can't think of his name.

Oculus Orbus

Dan Peters, probably. He's Mudhoney's drummer, wich probably makes him my favorite just for that, but also he's played in Nirvana, Feast, Bundle Of Hiss, Love Battery... to name a few.

Phil Collins. Ringo Starr might have been from the Beatles, but Collins knows how to make drumming sound cool. You should hear songs like "In the Air Tonight." It's awesome.:tcool:

Ive gotta second this, he is just amazing. Lars Ulrich is probably my favorite metal drummer, but thats factoring in his personality as well.

Another great one! and what challenges he faced!

In no particular order...
Tre Cool- Green Day
Andrew Dost- Fun.
Mark Pontius- Foster The People
Benjamin Thompson- Two Door Cinema Club

I wish that TDCC would make Thompson an "official" member of the band already, instead of him just being a touring member.

Keith Moon.
I'm not even a big fan of The Who. I just think Moon really knew how to live.
Hard & Fast. He lived in the moment. Something I think a lot of us wish we could do.
