"Caught in the Act" Art Contest

Calling all artists!

I am pleased to announce yet another TMNT fanart contest for your artistic pleasure. This is a themed contest for both "all ages" art, and "adult" art. The entry deadline is April 30th and full details can be found at

Basically I'm looking for entries that fit the theme of "Caught in the Act"; TMNT characters doing uncharacteristic things (one of the big bad ninjas collecting stuffed animals), or doing socially unacceptable things ( ie nose picking).

First and second prizes will be awarded for both "all ages" art, and "adults only" art. A booby prize will also be awarded for the worst artwork.

aw, Nick! don't be that way!! i think it's a neat idea. I mean, sure... the turtles are these big, bad-ass heroes, but they put their pants on one leg at a time just like us! (or they would if they wore pants.)

it's a neat chance to show the "at home" side of the guys. what they do when they're NOT being kick-butt ninjas...

don't you have a secret hobby that people wouldn't necessarily guess that you have? or a secret LOVE of something that your friends or family wouldn't have BELIEVED you enjoyed?

late at night... in the dark... in his room, when no one can see him induldge in the JUNK FOOD, the ninja master succumbs to his RAT-LY LOVE for SALTY, CRUNCHY things... AND STUFFS HIS FACE WITH SALT AND VINEGAR POTATO CHIPS-- the LIGHTS come on!

Splinter has a MOUTHFUL of chips, and cannot answer w/out spraying crumbs. the bag will crinkle if he moves. as it is, his face fur and whiskers look dusted w/ salt and crumbs. He's frozen. THere's no way to make this dignified.
Leo turns off the light and leaves the room w/out saying anything....
...in the dark, the crunching resumes....

Awwww! Thanks for the sweet write-up Kya! :goofygri: No offense intended Nickokapo, but your enigmatic "No Thanks.." post did hurt my feelings a wee bit. I didn't want to say anything though because I know you weren't trying to do that. I do want to say that I totally understand the fact that I am encouraging adult art is offensive to some people,this is why I've got separate sites and prizes for all ages and adults only entries.

I don't want anyone to be discouraged from entering the contest just because I am personally adult-riented in my interests. I LOVE G-rated art too! I'm just trying to encourage everyone to come up with some different ideas about our favorite characters.

I admit at first this kinda discouraged me but i've never been to a contest before and it seems like fun so i still wanna submit something...it might as well end up getting the worst pic prize as ive only started seriously practicing drawing some months ago so im not picasso :P but what the heck i'll give it a try.
I'll also try to change my anime-inspired style for another in this ocassion as i figured there was some biased people who hated it...just to show i can do better than that :evil:

it can be INTENTIONALLY bad or otherwise.... but yeah... the "WORST" award will NOT reflect on anyone's skills as an artist.... it's the boobie prize for the worst JOKE.

Absolutely! Who am I to judge artistic skill? Well, aside from one of the judges. I absolutely encourage everyone to do the best they can do, but if you have a good idea and not a great deal of skill, share it anyway!

I wish you guys would actually read ALL of what SC said, here and in the rules on her site, before making these types of comments.

Nope, there's five of us. Couple guys, couple gals. We're each assigning a score to every image, then I add the numbers up, and whoever scores the highest wins. If I get multiples with the same score, we'll have tie-breaker voting.
