Generally the same as TNM version, except she doesn't use/butcher slang, and she refers to herself as a mystic, not "shinobi". A bit of a "darker", mourning personality than she has in TNM, intent on proving herself as a mystic though her sheltered past is quite an obstacle to overcome. Knowing evil exists and actually encountering it are two entirely different things.

Same history, though I tend to take vast amounts of liberties with it since they never really proved anything about Venus in the show. And since this RP isn't based on TNM, I have to alter her history a bit. I'd say she knows vaguely about the TMNT, and only has a confusing message from her father on his deathbed about New York to go on. I won't really know for sure until things start.

The Shredder Elite were Shredder's elite 'special guard' within the New York Foot Clan branch he led. They were the best of the best of his ninja--and he hand-picked and personally trained them himself. They were supposedly destroyed during the City at War storyarch. This RPG would apparently take place around half a year after City at War--right in the middle of Volume 2 of the Mirage series.

My name is heretic, not heroic. And I don't see any way how Mike could know those characters (although they could know each other)---as he has an entire history that they were not a part of. They would be 'new characters' to him.

fair enough. but the fact that the turtle's origion story has changed in different mediums...or that krang was/wasn't a utrom....chalk that up to artoe as well...like april being and not being a reporter....(basically you change some things so it fits better into what you're doing...like the first movie...april wasn't a reporter in mirage but she was in the cartoon...so they took most of mirage and used elements from the cartoon...blending them nicely together.

Anyway! lets get back to the rpg!! (which hasn't really started yet! or has it? LOL)

Okay, let's see... BTW, if anyone has a problem with starting and continuing this RP in this thread, I can split it to it's own topic. Also, if you don't like how I started it, we can compromise and start again. I'm gonna "start" it right in the middle of this big conflict. Flashbacks are fine (even encouraged) but please be careful NOT to contradict any previous flashbacks or what others have set as the present. I know this seems tricky, and I don't mean it in a "the turtles killed Shredder so how can he be alive" way. There will be plotholes, but most of us nitpick them out anyway, so try to work with them the best you can. Consider it a challenge.

Venus took one look at the place she would be calling home and nearly got right back on the boat. Having never even heard of New York before her father's last words she had no idea what to expect, but this... was not it. She'd picked up rumors and news on her trip over here, that it used to be a great city, one of the world's biggest and finest. Now, it was slowly falling and no one knew exactly why.

One story said that aliens had taken over. Another said that the aliens were peaceful, but humans started a war with them anyway. Another said that the very pits of Hell had opened up and that the end of the world was upon them. Yet another claimed it was all part of some elaborate tourist trap.

Venus shivered beneath her cloak. This place was filled with so much negative energy it nearly overwhelmed her. It took her several moments to put up a mental shield strong enough to allow her to function normally. How was she supposed to search out "those like her" in a city like this?

Enshrouded in a billowing cloak and hood, the 18-year old Michelangelo stood perched upon a high rooftop, alongside a stone gargoyle somewhat resembling his own visage. He could feel the wind pulling his red mask and steel nunchakus in the cool night.

I can't believe what's happened. Mike thought to himself. I thought the Ultroms were peaceful. There has to be some explanation for why they are doing this...

But no rationalizing or explaining would bring back the lives that were already lost..... death, it seems like Mike's life knew nothing but death. It had been over five years since they first slain Oroku Saki. It had been two years since they had faced him a second time and Leonardo had beheaded their foe. And it had been a year since their feud with the Shredder Elite, ending with a treaty with the new Foot led by Karai. That whole year was a time of peace. They had all felt at ease.

The Ultroms put an end to that. Or was it the Ultroms???

Mike wasn't sure anymore. All he knew is that he was a ninja... a shinobi. And it was his duty to protect life whenever he could. And a find job we've been doin' so far.

Suddenly, Michelangelo sensed the presence of another 'power', that is one with a strong ki. He swooped down silently from his rooftop vigil to check it out....

Again the 17 year old turtle had to ask herself exactly why she had chosen to come to Manhattan, was she really trying to get herself killed? There was nothing but war here and, well, Randi had seen enough of that to last any one a life time!

But curiosity egged her on.

A part of her--a strong part--wanted to know what was dearly going on. She want to know what was the real deal with these Ultroms and who had really started the fight. Ha! She thought as she jumped from a higher roof top to a slightly lower one, Its most likely humanity's fault.

This thought amused her some but also made feel all the more distressed. Seeing as the way things were going, earthlings didn't have a chance against this alien race... and then there was that problem with that metal-armored maniac. What was his name? Randi wasn't so sure.

She stood on the edge of the building and adjusted her black English Driver's cap as she looked onto the city. She had a lot of ground to cover...

Some times Randi hated how curious she could really be...

Mike moved towards the second presence, as it seemed to be closer. Better keep my guard up, I dunno if this is friend or foe.....

Despite the carnage caused, there were still many minds within Manhattan. Too many to sort out... too many t-- She blinked, Wuzzat? She could detect--one? No, two--distinct Psi energies coming from her right. She stood there for a moment, singling them both out even more hoping to memorizing the differences between the two and their current location... One was close to the docks and the other...

Randi suddenly felt panicked.

The Second Psi energy was coming her way! Shite! Shite! Shite! She didn't feel like getting into a confrontation THIS soon! No, not today! With out a second thought she leapt off of the side of the building and... seconds before she hit the ground, her fall slowed letting her land softly on her sandled feet.

From there, she ensured that her long coat was fully covering her before she sprinted down the street, away from both energies.

Casey grabbed hos hockey mask, and his golf bag full of weapons. He had to do everything he could to prevent New York from turning into hell. Casey jumped on his motorcycle and sped down the street.

Venus pulled her cloak around her. It had suddenly gotten very cold. And her stomach was complaining the fact that she hadn't brought enough food for the trip. She realized that she'd never really appreciated what her father did for her, raising her, teaching her, keeping her safe and fed, and now she felt guilty for taking him for granted.

She shook her head. No time for self-pity, she had a mission, and she had to accomplish it soon before things got worse.

Venus suddenly looked up as someone approached her location, coming close enough for her to get a somewhat clear reading. Definitely not hostile, and it seemed familiar but she couldn't figure out how. It seemed that she would find out soon enough.

Venus felt herself calm as she spotted someone. She hadn't seen a trace of anyone since she got off the boat, and the sight of another living soul was comforting.

She shyly waved back. "Hello," she replied, though wasn't even sure if her soft voiced carried over the distance. She was still cautious about being seen, after all, she'd been worried about being seen by other her entire life, and the habit was very hard (and fairly dangerous) to break.

Michelangelo continued to walk casually up to Venus, as if nothing was irregular at all. He could tell she was trying to hide her appearance, but he could tell from her posture, physique, and so forth that she was another mutant turtle. Its hard to try and hide things from a ninja master.

Another turtle, neh? Mike thought to himself. It certainly has been and odd day....

"Hrn... curiouser and curiouser... Again I blame h-... the government." She wasn't sure what thier take on humans was. "Well, I might as well go next..."

She seemed rather, tenative when she spoke, really wishing that she wasn't telling them all she did. She told them how she ended up with the mutant militia at six and was that time mutated into what she was now - well, a smaller version of what she was now. She told them of the training that she went to right up to mention a few of the covert wars that she had been in. She didn't get into much detail with these and seemed to want to hurry through them. "Hmmm." Michelangelo recalled he and his brothers' encounters with the DARPA organization, which he hadn't told the other two. Of course, they didn't work for the government, they were a rogue group. But... wait, that was a dream, wasn't it?? In any event, it's unlikely DARPA had anything to do with the Ultroms here....

She seemed rather, tenative when she spoke, really wishing that she wasn't telling them all she did. She told them how she ended up with the mutant militia at six and was that time mutated into what she was now - well, a smaller version of what she was now. She told them of the training that she went to right up to mention a few of the covert wars that she had been in. She didn't get into much detail with these and seemed to want to hurry through them. "I see." Mike replied with a calm, reassuring smile. "It sounds like you've led an interesting life, Randi." He chose not to sound too sympathetic in his reply, as that would probably just make Randi uncomfortable.

He then turned his head toward Venus. "What about you?? You acted as if you knew who I was before..."

"I do... somewhat. You see, up until a short while ago, I lived in China with my father. He was a powerful mystic but the last of his family. When he found me, he raised me, and taught me a great deal, though I am still a novice at the mystic arts.

"He passed away recently, but before he did, he told me to come here, to New York, to seek out others like me. I do not know how he knew, but I trusted him."

Venus turned and looked out over the city with a sad expression on her face.

"Chung I... Splinter..." Randi repeated more to herself than to anyone else. She assumed, of course, that Splinter must have been Michelangelo's master. Funny, she thought he would have been named after an artist too. "Advise that I usually am too dumb to follow: It never hurts to ask."

Venus snapped out of her mild state of mourning. "Splinter? Actually, I think my father mentioned someone by that name at least once."

Venuc closed her eyes in thought. "I remember him refering to a friend from the Dream Realm named Splinter. He didn't tell me much, only that his friend was wise, and caring. I had the feeling that there was something else he was meaning to tell me, but he never got to before..."

Randi had been quiet during the whole conversation, feeling that it had nothing to do with her. But when she heard Dream Realm she looked at them curiously, "Dream Realm? Don't you mean, Realm of Dreams?"

"Yes, Realm of Dreams. It goes by many names."

Michelangelo nodded. He had been to the "Dream Realm" on occassion himself, although Splinter preferred to call it "Dreamtime". It seemed to be related to, but distinct from, the astral plane --- which he had also been to. Neither are a very fun place if you're not careful.

"I see." Michelangelo said, contemplating Venus' words. "And, what tradition were you trained in, exactly??"

Mike nodded. He was hoping for something more specific, that may have actually indicated a connection to Splinter or give some hints about her master. Venus' answer really didn't give much to go on, though.

"Feh." Randi replied, "Find out what the real reason for the attacks are? You sort of know them, maybe they still remember you? We should use that to our advantage in figuring out what's going on."
