The NECA Playmates Hybrid

I do actually prefer the NECA toys as they are, however I thought it would be interesting to make them look a little closer to the original Playmates toy-line. Such as orange/brown accessories and letters on their belts.

This is just quickly Photoshopped, be nice to see it done properly with the x-straps on Leo and Don's belts and the correct weapons holders.

edit- I'm partially colour blind so please don't moan if they're a little off !!

Sweet photo it really does have a Playmates/Neca hybrid feel to it. These would be cool to own. That reminds me........didnt Playmates plan on releasing their own version of the original comic style turtles. I remember seeing a photo of them at some point.

I made some accessories based off the playmates line as well.

If enough work was put on them I can see them being re-released. Maybe they'll re-tool them and make them the new movie turtles or new show turtles though I don't find that likely. But we could see them in a future wave of "comic" turtles, I mean they aren't based on the 2k3 show so they can easily release them in the new turtle toys waves.

I actually really liked them, people here hated on them but that was mostly because they thought this was the reason NECA was stopping their turtles line and not that it was because of NECAs own incompetence. Maybe if people had known that they would have been ok with them. Splinter and Shredder looked awful though, and I know they are comic turtles but I'm sure Playmates or I'd hope that they would have released them with different bandannas, I don't want 4 Raphs! If only NECA had done it, maybe the line would have made it to wave 2, then again we're talking about NECA so I doubt it, they have always been a terrible company, I warned you all to not get your hopes up when they got the license but you all ignored me.

Nice photoshop job. Personally, I wouldn't want to see a return of the all-orange weapons--molding weapons in one color without any paint aps is just cost cutting. I like the Playmates and NECA figures for different reasons, and think they'd be better off in their own niches rather than combined.
