View Full Version : It'd be fun if we had an Eastman comic and a Laird comic at the same time

It'd be interesting if there was a little, "friendly rivalry" between Eastman and Laird.

With Eastman working alongside the IDW writers, and if by some miracle Peter Laird decides to finish Vol. 4, we could have both creators working on two opposite TMNT comics at the same time.

I honestly wonder if Eastman working on the series again would give PL a little, "push" to get back into Vol. 4. A little friendly rivalry never hurt anyone.

If this kind of rivalry happened... the real winners would be the readers.

Yeah, and then Murph would feel the need to finish Forever War! And they'd ask Tristan to do that other War....

Man, if Laird/Mirage continued to do Vol. 4 side-by-side with this IDW book coming out, I'd be so happy. http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

Its not unreasonable. PL will probably take a look at the IDW series, and if it starts progressing and sells well, he may just get the old, "spark" back in him to do comics again. I am sure he'll get back Jim Lawson, Berger, etc. to help him put it together.

PL is 56 now, isn't he? Its far more likely for a Vol. 4 conclusion in recent years than it will be when he's 60+ years old.

If this were to happen, that would be amazing. Even more amazing would be if Eastman and Laird were to get back together for an issue or two...

That would be totally rad but he seems pretty "over it". I think we've already seen the last TMNT comic from Peter Laird.

I wouldn't say that, dude. I bet at some point Laird will want to finish Volume 4 and give the original comic book universe a proper ending.

As a fan, I don't want to see the universe "end". Give the current storylines a nice conclusion and leave the future unknown. We all know how the Mirage Universe "ends" - the Turtles grow old and die.
