View Full Version : TMNT Archie Series "Year of the Turtle"
Yo dudes and dudettes,

I think I might have a copy in a really bad condition. Dunno where it is though (assuming I'm thinking of the right series). Did it come out around 96 or 97?
OMG! DEMUTATED SPLITNER *AND* MIKEY? *whines* nooooooo!!! NOT RATBOY TOO! Yeah, it's that one.. the one where that guy is telling the little boy a story, I think it came out in 1996

Okay, I DO know the ending!!!!
Well, Splinter and Mike Both got demutated. Splinter for a few days, Mike for a few minutes. The stone had done the demutations.
Well, in the last few pages of the last part, it turns out that it is actually Master Splinter (human form) telling the story to Michaelangelo, who's sitting in the bed.
Splinter finishes and goes out to see the others. Mike's body is mutated again to mutant form thanks to the stone, but his mind is that of a young child's and would undoubtedly take time to return to his former self. Splinter told them that he was also going back into his rat form. He showed his *incredibly sexy and well-muscled* arm, showing the rathair growing back.
That was the last comic i had ever seen until the past few weeks. It made me cry in the shop n' save...I had never been so sad over a story.
OOOOOOOOHHHH!! ME WANT!!! poo.. mandy was right on the end of it.. it sound TOOO FABOOOO! ME WANT! If anyone has an extra copy, I'd pay for it! (and mach, I'd pay for kinko copies of that comic, as well as some money for your trubble if you'd be willing)
~Mica (ME WANT! *whines and goes back to making turtle dance*)

Oh, I dont have it, but ive remembered it all these years. It was to most powerful piece of writing ive ever read. I remember more about that than the Hamlet stuff we did in high school!
I would love to have a copy of it!
Hehehe, MONEY?! *evil glint* Well, i DID have to put myself through some emotional pain to remember it...

Oh yeah.. this was a comic Lisardo had. She let me read it one time. Yeah... and SPlinter's telling Mikey about how they defeated the Power Rangers and then go on this trip to Mongolia and surf in the snow. Very unusal plot indeed!

That series is the fourth i had read of the Archie series. I also had read the moon-eyes series.
I think one of the moon eyes saga was one of the first archies I read... Then I got a BUNCH of them after a bit and read a TON of them at once... hee hee... if anyone could get me a copy of #3 of the year of the turtle trilogy tho, it'd be GREATLY appreciated...

I have the Blind-Sight Series, and then the first early ones that were based off the cartoon. Then somoneone got me a special run that had Stan Sakai do most of the art.
oohhh a run where Stan Sakai did most of the work?? Tell me more about!! Please!! I want to read!
I loved the blindsight series, it just soooo well written and is really emotional. That Mikey jumps into the water and saves that guy is just so... Mikey! And Raph saying something along the lines of "let him drown" then in the aftermath with the reporters saying "say something, Mickey!" and he turns, and in a very mikeyish style, smiles big and says "Cowabunga"... *sai* it's a series I never tire of reading  Nyar Mikey!
~Mica
Man, I seriously, seriously need to get my hands on more Archies. The only ones I have are early ones, from just after they branched off from the cartoon, in collected books. Oh, and issue #50.

*happily reads her Archies and awaits her Motherlode in the mail*
I love Blindsight. THe first time i read it, I bought the one with mike's pic on the front.
For some strange reason, Im thinking that there were an issue or two that had mike reminiscing about stuff that had happened in their childhood. Something about a Broken vase and the color diferentiation, and The boys working together to cheat on some tests, but Splinter finds out and sets it up to look like Mike had flunked all the others on the spelling test, and the y all eventually get caught.
Does anyone else remember, or am i losing some more of my sanity?

*blink* *blink* (wonders if this one comic store still has any Archies left)
broken vase? I don't remember that part, but yeah, blintsight had the reminising of Mikey on when they were younger and how the differnt colored masks came about... I love that one! Such good lines, like "If we're a singing group, I'm the cute one" "but which of us is the walrus?" (refranceing beatles 4 those who don't know) and wittle raphie running away on all 4s from the bad guy is BEYOND adorable! wierd thing is it's mike reminicing, but master splinter is telling some postlog of the story during it. That issue also has a pinup wit the little archie tmnt
Come to think of it, that wasn't in blindsight, it was right BEFORE it. I still don't know what FULLY happened and how mike got caught, I'm missing part 2 of the terricide series tho.. DANG IT! want more slash!!(the turtle, you dirty minded little forumees!)

I want those ones SO BAD!!!!!!!!!
Well, Mike got blinded by a molotov cocktail while fighting some evil demon thing in Jerusalem. Mike jsut happemed to be at the wrong place at the wrong time...I hate the US Government!
I want to get those So much! Especially the poster!
Slash...he was killed according to Don when he told the story in the second issue of the Blindsight series.
Hey, Anyone ever read the Black hole trilogy?!?!?! I heard that one looks bck at their past as well...

Well, i *AM* going to the comic book store today, I could take a notebook along and write down what archie backissues they have... then if anyone wants them, I'll only charge you the comic book store price plus shipping (usually about $1 bookrate within the US)
hmmm...
The black hole trilogy has them looking into thier past? I don't think so.. but I think I'm missing one comic of that series... What about the future shark trilogy? That ones cool because it's the first one with the future TMNT woo hoo! I *LOVE* the look on future Don's face when he says that he just plugged the time portal in to power it this time and he can't wait to see this month's electricity bill... *G* hee hee. Now if I had only read the archie series, and nothing else, I think I would be a Don/Raph fan because of all the good scenes with future Don and Raph. (Not to say Future Mike isn't cool, but they don't show him much)

There were two entirely different runs of Turtle Soup #1. I forgot the whole story behind it, but the first one was run as a special in 1987, then some time went by and they ran Turtle Soup as the 4 set series in 1991.
And yeah.. usually it takes 7-10 days for something form one side of country reach the other side... unless they sent it the super cheap, super slow book rate.
Ok, good. that's what I thought, HT. ANyway, I visited my comic store today, and I picked up Grunts #1! Wooo! haven't read it yet, been busy reading my new X-mens... anyway I wrote down the archies they have, and most of them are around $2 (some less, some more) I will be willing to buy these for anyone who wants (machy?) and ship them to them and I won't charge any fees beyond the comic book store price and the price of shipping (not handling, i have plenty of leftover envelopes ) Here's the list:

#45...is that a "Splinter's view of the turtles when they were growing up" kind of story? This remembering of the color story(it involves a vase somehow) and the cheating on the schooling lessons is driving me bonkers!
you were right, machy, i re-read it. The broken vase is at the very beginning. I forgot that part! "Mikey doed it!" "and which one of you is Michealangelo?" *all little turtles point at the others*

Then I suggest checking out your college PC labs, and see if they have Photoshop. You'll be amazed with the things you can do in there when it comes to photo manips!
*one of these days I'll get that preteen Mikey pic done...*
Oh, but Azure has more pics? Cool! The one Loolaa did for your pic is neat too. I also liked the paintball painting Kali did. Very good elements of contrast, for such a 'dramatic' situation. Gee... want me to draw something for ya now?

I've drawn ya, azure, and many of you other peeps in the forum (got a whole drawing pad filled that's not online or on my computer) but my scanner's busted *growls* EVIL HP THING! maybe someday when I pound the sh*t out of it and get it to work I'll scan some stuff in for you.
PhotoShop, ey HT? I've never used that... I use Paint Shop Pro... I think you might even be able to get it off http://www.shareware.com ... But I'm a hardcore MSPaint addict. It's everywhere I tell you! I get so fed up with other programs, they never look quite rite, so I end up fixing it in MS paint, only thing I use PSP for ever is layers and color changes.
