Tempting, but 24 pages is a little much for me in that span of time.

True 24 pages is a lot, but one of the things to take out of this is to get as much done as possible. I am thinking I will do the first couple of pages first, then the last pages, then work on the middle... That way I at least have a beginning and end, and if need be I can shorten how I got from point A to B...

At least that is how I am envisioning it...:ohwell:

The "Eastman Variation"?

I seen that too... Wikipediatrics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/24-hour_comic) says this...

If the cartoonist fails to finish the comic in 24 hours, there are two courses of action suggested: Stop the comic at the 24-hour mark, or continue working until all 24 pages are done. The former is known as "the Gaiman variation" after Neil Gaiman's unsuccessful attempt, and the latter is called "the Eastman variation" after Kevin Eastman's unsuccessful attempt. Scott McCloud calls both of these "noble failures", which he will still list on his site as long as he believes that the creator intended to finish the project within the specified amount of time.

Shoot, I've spent nearly 5 months trying to make 12 good pages!

24 pages in 24 hours would probably look like complete dog doodoo. But kudos to the real talents who are willing to go without sleep and little sustenance to pump out 24 decent pages in a day.

Update 11:35PM - Got page 10 and 11 penciled and inked, I am beat, probably won't get 24 pages but I will pick this back up in the morning.
Update 10:15AM - I am starting on page 15 & 16 which will probably be my final pages. There is no way I am going to get all 24 pages done so I am finishing up the story so I can now letter and finish everything up.
Update 2:24PM - Here are the final results from my 24 hour comic, didn't make 24 pages but still a neat story nonetheless http://bit.ly/p0dk9A

Right now I have an idea of my story but I haven't written the entire thing yet so I am gonna just wing some of it and just see what happens. My main characters name is Eric and from the first page of the comic you will learn that he is just moments away from being killed, as that is what exactly happens. But it is on the next page where you start to learn the path that Eric had taken to get himself killed.

I did my own thing. I don't think there is an actual event you compete in per say, but some places setup tables where groups of people can work in the same room. Anyone and everyone is recommended to give it a shot. I believe the official day is the first Saturday in October.
