This is already being discussed in the other threads.
Anyways, not sure how I feel about this moving so quickly.

So the film that was announced in April 2009 just barely starting up 3 years + later is "moving quickly" eh?

I'm only talking how the director was hired three months ago, for a shoot tht could start in a few months. Compared to other movies, it's actually moving very fast.
To put it into perspective, Kenneth Branagh was hired to direct Thor in December 2008. It started filming January 2010.

It wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't hired sometime last year, but they just wanted to wait until Wrath of the Titans came out to make an official announcement. Still, it’s all about the script. PD and Paramount are obviously pretty happy with the state of the script to allow shooting to begin relatively soon after hiring a director. But yeah, this has been in development for a long time if you remember the first word that PD were set to make it.

I wonder if this movie will be locked in that dark room of tmnt things we don't talk about...with the next mutation.
But seriously, I'm hoping its good. I'm seeing it as a more sci-fi movie based on what I know.

There's no reason to think that it would be. & for the record there are tons of Next Mutation fans here who talk about it.

And what do you know exactly? The tiny bits of information that have come out like everyone else?
If you're going on that information then every bit of Ninja Turtles lore is sci-fi to you and shouldn't be a problem.
To be honest, TMNT has always had sci-fi elements in some shape or form.

They need a full cg bebop or rocksteady on steroids demolishing stuff...
Time travel counts too, chief. That's more fantasy than sci-fi. Also why can't they film this in New York?

Because it's expensive as sh*t. Most movies set in NY aren't shot there.

Nah, screw CG. Rubber suits are better, cheaper, and way more fun.
