Now available for pre-order on amazon and other e-retailers. Street date is around Oct 1st when you'll be able to find them in Target, Toys R Us or wherever you prefer.

So, what do you think? Saddest part is I'm not sure these look as good as the Lord of the Rings figures from Toy Biz, yet they cost A WHOLE LOT more. Correct me if I am wrong but I think those figures were 6.99 or 7.99 right? And that was for the 6". Now they are DOUBLE that in less than ten years time. I think that's quite a bit greater than inflation should dictate -__-

So double the price for figures that don't even look as good. Fantastic.

Anyway, here we go. I'm still probably going to pick up some of these.

Thorin Oakenshield (http://amzn.com/B0086489LE) - Image (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/91yYGTA8UtL._AA1500_.jpg)

That appears to be all of the ones revealed.

Buying these is kind of tough. The 5 figure box is a nice deal, but doesn't come with the entire wave. If you want every figure in the wave, you are forced to buy duplicates no matter how you slice it.

I still have all the toys from the Fellowship of the Ring. But stopped a the two towers, was costing too much and I had no room to store it all.

These look nice, I may have to pick up one or two.

Yeah I was not collecting figures when the LotR movies were coming out... I regret it. I have been thinking about picking up some used figure lots on ebay... you can get them at pretty affordable prices.

Anyway, I think the 5 figure box set is a good deal, but the problem is, if you want ALL of the figures, it is not necessarily the best way to get them. The price-per-figure on the box set is the cheapest, but some of the figures, like gollum or balin, are only in the 2-packs which means you are forced to buy doubles no matter how you slice it if you want them all. Because 3.75" Thorin is only available in the box set... for now...

Well, as it stands I think I will pre-order all 3 6" figures, the box set and the one that has frodo/gollum. After that I will see if I think it is worth buying more.

Frankly I'm not terribly impressed with the 6" sculpts, but when I see them in person maybe I'll change my mind.

the 3.75" figures look good for their size, but they still suffer from the usual problems of smaller figures such as (obviously) reduced detail and often sloppier paint apps. However I must say the accessories look really great for small figures.
