I just thought I would share my meager collection with you guys. Growing up I was a big fan of the Turtles. As I grew older I began to fall away from them but I always had fond memories of growing up with them. I loved watching the original series on television and had more than my share of the action figures. Most of my figures are in pretty rough shape. I must have played rougher with them then I thought I did.

Recently I began reading the original Mirage comic series and my passion was relit so I decided to begin recollecting the figures that I had growing up. I am working on getting them MOC. So without further ado I present my slowly growing collection. :tgrin:

My main idea for the collection changed as soon as it started when I saw this piece on ebay. I don't think the seller knew what it was say it was a toy prototype. He said he had 2 of them and hadn't seen any others. I am not exactly sure what it is but I thought it was too cool to pass up. The piece stands 11" tall and 7" wide from fingertip to fingertip. The piece is made of a soft rubber and has foam inside. It is signed "John Michaels" on one foot and dated 1990 on the other. If anyone knows what it is can you please clue me in. Whatever the case it is a very cool piece. :tsmile:

So far I have purchased a set of all 4 1988 10 Back Turtles, a 1988 10 Back Foot Soldier and a 1988 10 back April O'Neil. So far the April is the only one that has come in so I will go ahead and share her. I think I got a pretty good deal on this one getting it for $15.50. :tsmile:

It looks like the mutating turtles who say, "Pizza pizza!" when splinter tells their backstory. From the first movie.

Thanks for the comments. When I saw the piece that was the first thing I checked. It does indeed look like the turtle from the movie but I wouldn't think I would get that lucky and it actually be a piece used in the movie. The piece didn't come with any paper work or anything so I know nothing about it other then I thought it was way to cool to pass up. It might be though, with a much detail that is put in it I don't know why someone would put the time into making it unless it was being made for the movie. :tgrin:

The rest of the pieces that I purchased so far came today. I purchased the 4 Turtles as a set on ebay for $150 shipped and they included the Zoloworld Cases so I think that was a pretty good deal. They all look great. The Donatello has a chunk missing from the punch hole to the top but presents nicely. I can always use it as trade material to get a nicer one at a later time.

http://imageshack.us/a/img18/7886/raphaelmoc.jpg

The foot soldier arrived and the seller had poorly packed it resulting in the card getting a large crease at the top left going from the foot soldier's knee up to the punch hole. It presented very well until it received that crease. I contacted them about it and they refunded some of the price making the piece $25. I will use it as trade material towards another piece.
All in all I am very pleased with the collection thus far. And now to find a Splinter, Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady before I begin working on the 1989 series. :tsmile:

Thanks everyone. Yes the zolo cases are great. Will definitely have to pick some up for the others. I noticed the Mike had the club info on the back but unfortunately there wasn't a paper with him. Would have definitely been cool. :tsmile:

I purchased a set on ebay that consisted of Michaelangelo, Donatello, Splinter, April, Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady. They came in today so I thought I would take a group shot of all the keepers. Decided to keep the extra April since it is a different card. I also included the Leonardo plush that I had as a kid since I found him in a box stored away. Will be posting the figures individually. :tgrin:

And now to the individual figures.
The Splinter has a tear on the bottom bubble but presents very nicely.
http://imageshack.us/a/img411/4454/splintermoc.jpg

The April is a different card then the April I already had.
http://imageshack.us/a/img9/2109/aprilonealmocv2.jpg

The Shredder has a light crease on the top left corner but presents nicely. I might upgrade this one at a later time but for now I am satisfied with it.
http://imageshack.us/a/img802/2747/shreddermoc.jpg

Both the Bebop and Rocksteady look fantastic.
http://imageshack.us/a/img839/5127/bebopmoc.jpg
http://imageshack.us/a/img33/4652/rocksteadymoc.jpg

The Michaelangelo was a little nicer then the one I already had. The one I had has some glue residue on it so I think I will be keeping this one even though it doesn't have the fan club back.
http://imageshack.us/a/img195/5425/michaelangelomoc.jpg
All in all very pleased with the collection so far. Will probably hold off on buying anymore for a while unless I find a deal a can't pass up. :tgrin:

I agree with you. Just having them brings back so many great memories. :tsmile:

I already posted these in the art thread but thought I might as well add them here as well.
The first piece is by my favorite artist Josh Howard (Creator of Dead@17). I asked Josh to do an April O'Neal piece since I had never seen him draw a piece featuring her. Josh asked if I would like a turtle or two thrown in for good measure and of course I couldn't resist. Being the great guy he is, he ended up adding all 4 of the guys to the piece so I was really surprised and thrilled to see them all there when I opened it. :tgrin:

A great Ken Mitchroney Leonardo. When I saw this piece on ebay and saw that it was from 1989 I just had to have it.
http://imageshack.us/a/img833/3241/leonardobykenmitchroney.jpg

And a great Leonardo Vs. Shredder by forum member Pedro Lajud (pl212). I thought this piece was just too cool to pass up.

Thanks guys. Haven't purchased much lately. I have a few upgrades coming in and some commissions from Pedro Lajud (pl212) arrived recently.

After purchasing the Leonardo Vs Shredder piece from Pedro I decided to commission the rest of the gang as well. I then had to decide how I wanted them paired up. I decided to have Donatello with Splinter, Raphael with Casey and Michelangelo with April. I then had to come up with a background for all of the pieces. I knew immediately that I wanted the Raphael/Casey piece to have them in an alley like they were picking up a pizza and were attacked by the Foot. The Don/Splinter and Mikey/April pieces were a little harder. For the Don/Splinter piece we came up with them both being at home. Don is tinkering with a new machine and in another room Splinter is meditating. For the Mikey/April piece we came up with a cute piece where April has snuck up on Mikey in the sewer and is giving him a hug. I love how everything came out. They are even better then I had imagined. And to top it all off Pedro even included an extra Michelangelo piece because he thought he made me wait to long for them. He didn't have to but he did and it is greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend getting a piece by Pedro if you haven't already. He is a great guy to work with. :tcool:

The upgrades arrived today and I am very pleased with them especially for the price paid. :tcool: I am not going to tell what I paid but lets just say I doubt I will ever find a deal that great. The set included all four turtles, April and Splinter. All were unpunched and in fantastic condition expect for the Michaelangelo which was very mangled along the left side. To make it even better the turtles were all Fan Club Back cards. Too bad the Michaelangelo wasn't in better condition. Glad I still had the punched Fan Club Back Michaelangelo so now I have a full set of the Fan Club Back cards. :tgrin:

It's been a while since I have picked up any Turtle stuff but I had been looking for a Ross Campbell Turtle page for a while so when I saw NSN Art posting pages from Ross' run I couldn't resist picking up a couple. I am very pleased with these 2 pages. :tgrin:

Yeah. I loved the very last panel so just had to have it. I figured it would have a lot of interest so I sent my request pretty quickly. I would have been tempted to have purchased all of those pages from that scene if I had the funds. Alas I had to narrow it down to just this one. Oh well you can't have them all. I'm just glad I was able to snag this one. :tcool:

Cadence Comic Art recently listed some of Mateus Santolouco's pages from Issues 24-28 so I ended up picking up Page 18 from Issue 28. (http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1118654) What sold me was all of the action as well as having as many characters as it does. :tgrin:

I ended up scoring this awesome Kevin Eastman splash from IDW's TMNT issue 21 (http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1125674) during CAPS (Comic Art Professional Society) latest auctions for Stan and Sharon Sakai. It's always great when you are able to help a great cause and add great art to the collection. I have to say I am surprised I was able to get it as cheap as I did though. I was able to get it for half of what it was listed for on Kevin's website. :tgrin:
