Very good, Paulo. Wish I were as skilled an illustrator as you!

This was my 2012 Holidays Wishes card.

This image took 12 years to be done, I have draw it in 2000 and was colored now in 2012, what do you think?

And more from Realm of the Underworld toyline:

If someone want some check this link: http://www.underworldfigures.com/

I like it! Vibrant colors, and a mixture of cartoonish and fantasy touch to the drawing.

01-10-2013, 07:37 PM
Wait a sec... Maybe I'm reading into this, but the figures you posted a link to, did you design those?

01-11-2013, 07:02 AM
Just helped the design process, they are some kind of REMCO knock-offs, and they were designed by Zoloworld, I just helped in some design choices.

Some examples of art commissions made for local newspapers, I would like to know your opinions:

in 2004 (is part of a series of 25)

Salesman -"Take this dress, its color fits very well with your pale skin tone..."
Costumer -"Im black, only went pale when I saw how much you ask for it."

in 2002

- "Is still a mystery why all probes that we send to Mars get damaged..."

in 2002

in 2000

Those all look like they actually came from a newspaper. :D I think they're awesome!

02-16-2013, 09:25 PM
agreed! they commissioned these from you? that's cool

02-19-2013, 05:58 PM
Yes from 1998 to 2004 I worked as a cartoonist for 3 different Local newspapers in Portugal, also made some exhibitions in art galleries.

Then in 2005 I stopped, got many request to work in Marketing and Sales developing for some brands.

Since 2005 to 2011 I worked for brands like Era Real State (http://www.era.pt/), Portuguese Yellow Pages (http://www.yellowpages.pai.pt/q/business), Mafirol (http://www.mafirol.pt/default.htm), Peugeot (http://www.peugeot.pt/), Coffee News (http://www.coffeenews.org/), Ticket Achats, Veigas Real State (http://www.veigas.eu/), and some other local brands but never done comics or cartoons again.

Now Im unemployed (yes economics got really bad here) and I have to do some freelance work to pay the bills.

So now I have time to get back to fan projects, comics, cartoons and any work I get.

Loving to make these, and I hope that my life now will be more about this geek stuff than going back to suit/office work :)

Thanks everyone for the kind replies it really is good to have good feedback :) Soon I will post more art because Realm of the Underworld (http://www.underworldfigures.com/) wave 2 is being cooked!

Looks like you're really inspired from MOTU. I like it.

Thanks for all the comments, wave 2 of these toys is almost ready for pre-order and I only need to color one last panel to have the minicomic ready.

03-14-2013, 01:36 AM
Very cool! I'd preorder if I had the moolah

03-14-2013, 05:02 AM
Well just for you (because here no one cares for these threads so only you will know about it lol) I can reveal that the minicomics will be sold also online via comixology, comixpress or a similar site/application for less than 3$ I believe it will less than 2$ but Im not sure, I dont market them I just draw make them :)

They will be first available carded with a weapons pack, that will have the minicomic and some weapons, limbs for customize the figures, clothes and pelts. When they get sold out (they will be a limited edition, but not so scarce so they will not be numbered) only then they will be available online.

Everyone can check here for more news... https://www.facebook.com/RealmOfTheUnderworld?ref=ts

Im also working on more commissions but the client dont let me reveal and share the art, but are just coloring commissions, not my actual draw "art" we just have to wait to have it published :( I can just say it is a revamp of some Golden Age characters that are now public domain :)

Something fun about these minicomics is that this is my re-learning to draw process, I was so much time without really drawing that this was an on the job process, is like some kind of athlete that was injured and now is coming back to competition.

Who ever read them will see progressive changes on each panel, is a fun journey that the concerned reader will appreciate, and because this is a collectible line of toys there is something fun to have this artistic rebirth :) of an author.

Cant believe I missed this thread! :tanime: :tanime:

Nice pretty work Paulo!!!

I like specially the Triton -man and the draw with title 2000 (what castle is it?) !!! Awesome!
Also asking....the only female draw is Sybil the oracle? I request more female examples! :D:D :tgrin: Maybe any princess???

Thanks Luz you really deserve that award on your signature :)

OK the 2000 is the when it was done, and it is Flor da Rosa, check here: http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flor_da_Rosa

About more females... well there is one more but her end is tragic and she will not have a figure... I also Im making an effort to get ZOLO to produce females, lets see if the line sells wave 2 and 3 and then some will be done because we need to cast a female body...

Wave 5 is being planed to have Amazons and Valkyries, lets see if we get there :)

03-15-2013, 12:13 AM
So I'll be able to get these on my comixology app on my iPad? And where to get the figures? I'm not on Facebook
