I'm not the world's biggest deadpool fan but he has a certain charm. I'm sure most if not all of us have seen the first Deadpool trailer which showed a lot of promise.
So there is a new trailer. Check it out.

Now to me this trailer represents the epitome of catering to the property's fanbase when it comes to translating a character from one medium (mostly comics in this instance) to gaming. It gets the character down very well, the tone is pefect, the humor is exactly what it should be and appropriate for the audience. Oh and graphics-wise it looks quite good.
Then you look at the new TMNT trailer released days ago (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbIjCxilbKU&hd=1) and wonder: Why can't that be us? Take eveything fans love about TMNT and put it into a finely crafted game. No reinventing of the characters appearance or anything, just a straight up faithful rendition built to be awesome. Just like the Deadpool game. Except maybe not Rated M (though I'd love that.)
Now we don't yet know how well this game will sell, or if it will even be good--but it sure has every Deadpool fan on the planet excited. Wish we were getting the same treatment.
I just thought these two trailers, both released so close-together, represented almost two different minds when it comes to creating a licensed game. If nothing else it's interesting. For the record, if you've seen my posts in the relevant threads, I plan on getting Out of the Shadows. But I'd be lying if I didn't say I feels lacking.
