Hello Dear Tmnt Fans, back in 1994 this “spin off” vehicle was featured in the Playmates toy catalog as part of the Hot Roddin Ninjamobile series.

You may know by now how much I love the Foot Clan vehicles and how much I regret that there weren´t too many of them to compete with those damn Toitles.

We have witnessed the falls of Foot Vehicles like the 1988 Technorover which I have already talked in this thread http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=42039 and the 1991 Turtle Tenderizer 4x4 http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=41968, that woundn´t be all cause we have a third victim: the 1994 Macho Mutant Module.

Like, I´ve said above, the Macho Mutant Module was supposed to be a part of the Hot Roddin Ninjamobile series alongside with the Party Hearty Wacky Wagon, that also didn´t make into the toyline.

I believe that, despite being spin offs of already established vehicles, the vehicle new design were very original just like the features that it were offered (the pull back motorized action and the hub weapons pop out).
Besides. I love the original 1990 Mutant Module, as you can read here http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?p=1067845 and of course here http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=29431, so It was nice to see a “heir” of this family. I also prefer this unproduced vehicle over the 1991 Shreddermobile http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=41675 by far-

The Macho Mutant Module never appeared in the original tv show, but I think it could have been very easy introduced.

So why wasn´t produced? We really don´t know, maybe because we already got the 1993 Road Ready Shredder that was able to transform into the Mutant Module, so Playmates didn´t want more of the same stuff?

I honesty don´t find any good reason and we´ll probably never know. If only we knew someone that worked for Playmates over that time (hope that the upcoming Turtledoc can fill those blanks).

I could imagine that it would have had a nice toybox art with the famous Foot Clan purple sky and 1992 Toon Shredder version driving it.

All in all, I truly believe that Playmates lost another chance not doing this vehicle and I would have definitely prefered this version of the Mutant Module and the Turtle Party Wagon over all the 1993 Road Ready Series.

Anyone knows more about this Vehicle or got it? If anyone got the original prototype please let us know and also show some photos.

Thanks for reading, for your comments and support.

Yup have to say i don't think either of those vehicles will be missed. If they were released they would be one of those pieces that just bug people, like the ninja grappler.

I find these toys unimpressive overall, but I'll admit the Party Hearty Wacky Wagon was the initial inspiration behind my Turtle Fink figure/statue.

I doubt many people would have purchased these. I do not like the colors for them. The Road Ready Mutations figures would have sold better over these. You can't beat Splinter driving the Party Wagon. I do not think that happened on the show. In my opinion, the toy line was last great in '92.

There are several:

Knight Mike (Warriors of the Forgotten Sewer)
Spell-Caster Splinter (Warriors of the Forgotten Sewer)
WarCat (was Raphael in the comic, the toy was going to have a blue mask/blue pads like Cave Turtle Leo's Dingy Dino, to match the Leo figure that would have came with it, same from that line that WAS released on card alongside Dwarf Don, Warrior Bebop, and Gate-Keeper Rocksteady).

Michael Dooney did concept art for several more Universal Studios Monsters turtles (I believe he designed the eight that were released, the card art four the first four is clearly his, and the card art for the second four may very well be), but whether or not three dimensional prototypes were ever sculpted, I do not know.

I'm sure there are more, but that is all I can think of off of the top of my head.

The 2007 series was supposed to have Jaguar, but he was NEVER planned for the vintage line. Nor was Rex-1, to my knowledge.
