Does anyone collect Lego here? I'm a big fan and I think I saw some Lego fans in another thread.
If this can get Stickied, it can become an official discussion for Lego.

The Lego key chains have the four turtles, I've seen them in a Lego store. They are pretty cheap.

Just take off the screw that holds the figure from falling and have the key chain part attached too, and you got a Turtle minifig. As long as you don't mind a small hole from the screw on top of their heads

If you don't want the keychains, I recomend,
Kraang lab escape- Mikey
The Sewer Lair- Leo, Raph
Shredders Bike- Donnie, Shredder

Plus you get extra minifgs besides those.

I used to be into Legos as a kid , I still have about 10000 misc pieces somewhere back home from the 2000 era of Legos .

The sets back in the day were cooler to me ,

Wild Wild West theme
The adventure themes with (Johnny thunder ?)
And the ninja theme and the knights. Those were pretty awesome sets back in the day. The new ones they have these days aren't the same.

Egyptian adventure and jungle adventure .. Epic !

Actually, the price of LEGO sets have steadily decreased since they were first made.LEGO just seems more expensive because they make more sets and bigger sets.

Well, back when me and my brother were kids, our country hadn't adopted the Euro as its currency yet. So that might affect my perception of Lego price.

Nevertheless, Lego is still pretty expensive.

Dang! Yeah I have all of the first wave LotR sets, most of the Hobbit sets, and a few of the 2013 LotR sets... but not Orthanc. At least not yet! It would be great to have.

I want this set... waiting on amazon do put it on discount though. LEGO drains your wallet very fast... have to wait for deals when they come :)

Oh and... yes... I will be buying some LEGO Friends sets. Why? Because they are making some awesome ones. Like this:

http://www.heartlakefriends.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/QO5C9926-640x426.jpg

Apparently LEGO did a lot of research on their Friends line and found that while boys like to play with lego on the outside of the sets, girls like to play inside, like a dollhouse for example. So they focused a lot on the interiors to add lots of little details, you will see this on all Friends sets. I like that about them.

As you can see, the top opens up. It's pretty neat

So what's everyone's stance on Mega Blocks and other clone brands? Personally, I hate them. Mega Blocks is bad with quality control. I have a few of their sets in my junk/extra piece bin. I found a single brick in there and pressed hard on it and I bent it!

Yep, I got all the 1st wave for both, pre-order Elrond, (two, actually, since I preordered for 3DS and Wii) Shire Bilbo from Target Blu-Ray, Orthanc, two extra Uruk-Hai Armies, and the Battle at the Black Gate.:D I think you should wait on the dragon set cause I'm guessing a Smaug set is coming soon....;)

i used to get a couple of Lego clone sets years ago. they were called BTR, which stood for Build to rule.

The plastic they were made from was alright, the colors were vibrant and stood out. The pieces also don't bend like you said mega Blocks pieces do.

The problem with them was the fact that the pieces when put together, start to slide out. This was annoying as it meant that anything you made with them didn't stay together for long.

as for mega blocks, the tmnt sets they made back in the day were alright. i only had one, and i lost the mini-figures for it.

I have a heap of Lego.

Ive got nearly all of the Pirate sets from the late 80s (except the Eldorado Fortress) which is probably my favourite line to this day.

A fair bit of Castle from the 80s too (Crusaders, Black Falcons and Forestmen/Wolfpack) and some of the stuff from 2006 or so.

The scary laboratory, vampires crypt, and werewolf tree thing from early 2000 studio line

The remnants of Space and Town stuff from childhood

The first run of Batman sets: Catwomans cycle, batboat, batmobile, batwing, the batcave and arkham asylum and also Harleys truck.

A fair bit of Star Wars from the mid 2000s: Millenium Falcon, Cloud City, Republic Gunship and AT-TE, A wing, TIE Fighter, TIE Interceptor, Mos Eisley, The original Jabbas Palace and the little kits, Ewok attack etc etc...also a 12'' Vader that is technic I think.

I haven't bought any in ages, its too damn expensive and I don't have the room.
The TMNT stuff sure as hell has tested my resolve though, dreamed of it as a kid.

I saw them available on Amazon and Lego.com this morning but stalled in the hopes I could find it in store at Toys R Us over lunch. No dice- so when I got back I went to order it off Amazon and of course sold out. Same with Lego.com (back ordered). So I was forced to order off Toys R Us. I don't mind the tax plus $6 shipping, but they've had a bad track record with me of canceling my orders as of late due to stock issues. So I'm not hopeful I'll actually get one :tconfuse:

Just drove an hour and a half to get the Back to the Future set for my husband, it's our wedding anniversary soon and it's the ideal gift. He's been itching to get his hands on it!
I called the Lego store first thing this morning and reserved one and its a good thing too, they only had one left on the shelf. The guy in there said people were coming from all over to buy it. No wonder, it's all 3 incarnations of the delorean in Lego! Who wouldn't want that? :D

I absolutely LOVE LEGO!!
I have collect/still collecting all Star Wars, Harry Potter, TMNT (have all of them, of course!!), Disney (Toy Story, POTC, Cars etc), LOTR... anything else that looks good!
I love the Christmas range especially (the one where they have a village and release a new one every year... can't wait for this years' one!).

Incidentally, I'm going to Brick Fair in Virginia this weekend! :D

I forgot they were doing Back to the Future, I'll have to track that down.

Just the other day me and my wife were in Target and contemplated getting some Lego kits, but even if they've come down in price they sure *seem* too expensive. Might pick up a few TMNT and Man of Steel sets if I have cash to burn, but it seems like to get anything of "quality", either a big set or several smaller ones, you have to spend $60-100, which is frankly more than I can justify spending on blocks.

Oh boy guys I have a problem I think :)

today I bought the Summer 2014 AT-AT... thanks to a 20% TRU coupon I had so I got it for $80-something dollars. Great deal.

So... after purchasing the AT-AT I now have *ALL* of the Summer 2014 LEGO Star Wars sets. Both Rebels sets, B-Wing, AT-AT, Imperial Star Destroyer, Jedi Scout Fighter (don't underestimate this set, awesome looking vehicle and minifigs), Snow Speeder, Mos Eisley Cantina, and several polybags...

On top of a lot of the Winter 2014 (from January) SW sets... well, most of them.

I am totally in love with SW LEGO these days.

Anyone ever build this set before?
The legs on the Lobster are very loose: the red part doesn't want to stay in the black leg parts
I loved LEGO's Aqua Raiders line. It ended too early. So did Power Miners and Space Police 3.

Bionicle is coming back!!!!!!!!

Is anyone else excited?

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!

Did anyone here collect the Bionicle line?

I remember that i collected more Bionicle toys than any other Lego theme.

I'm still annoyed at Lego for cancelling it.
So am I, but I love what LEGO has been doing with Hero Factory.

I used to collect Star Wars, Super Heroes, Bionicle, Power Miners, Space Police 3, and Spongebob Squarepants. Now I only collect Hero Factory. (Not this years line, but I never completed any of the others, so I'm buying what I missed secondhand.) I might start collect the TMNT sets...

I love this set! I built it this morning. The gun reminds me of the gun at the top of the Kenner Death Star Station Playset from the 1970s. What I love more are the figures! The Helmets are spot-on cool! And I love these non-main characters

How do you guys store your sets? I have 2 giant shelves for my Star wars, LOTR, and superhero sets. I don't display the Hero Factory sets as I build a lot of MOC's with them.

Big bookshelves, with every shelf being a big display. For example, I have two at the moment. The first one has three shelves plus the top that can fit stuff. The second has five shelves with room on top again. So you can accommodate what you want for each theme. I have 3 Lego Movie shelves (the Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! takes up a whole shelf), one Super Heroes shelf, two just Marvel shelves, a TMNT shelf, and three LOTR/Hobbit shelves. Plus on my dresser (I keep all my Lego in my room it gets really crowded) I have my Isengard setup and my Ideas sets. Wow, long post.
Does anyone else have GOTG sets? I got the Milano this week and it's probably my favorite SH set. It even has the boombox with Star-Lords mixtape!

Unfortunately I think LOTR is doomed...sad because there were so many unused ideas for sets in that theme.
I have a link to a bunch of 2015 prelims that were leaked. Here:

YAY, alternate RR print coming to TRU... how do you get it? who knows. Some think it may be a GotG dvd/blu-ray pre-order promo.

This print was from SDCC, so happy we are getting it reissued.

I think they're just doing The Hobbit line, since the last LOTR movie was a few years now. I only got the Gandalf Arrives, and Frodo's stove polybag. Would've liked to get more, but the sets I would've liked were big and spensive.

Yup supposedly Hobbit/LotR is ending now after these last Battle of the Five Armies sets hit stores it should be the end.

I'm sad but it is still awesome when you think about it: We got TOLKIEN LEGO SETS! How amazing is that...

So yeah I own every single Tolkien set except Orthanc (I need to get it very soon!) and the late 2014 Battle of the Five armies sets (Smaug and a few other sets), which I will also be buying.

Not only are they very valuable to me on a personal level but they are worth HUGE dollars on the secondary market. Same as my Harry Potter lego sets.

Played with Lego as a kid but didn't get into the sets until I got married. My husband is a big Lego nut and he's gotten me hooked on it. One of our family friends runs a business distributing Lego which does not help the addiction:P

My husband is a lot better at building than I am but I'm learning. I guess before we married, he was part of a Lego club that makes these massive sets for conventions and whatnot. Says one of his favorite memories is actually meeting one of the Master Builders. I've seen a few of the displays his friends have made and they are awe-inspiring. I hope to be able to help them with one at some point.

As for me, so far, my husband has helped me in pretty much all the sets we've done but it makes for a fun project to do together. We did the large R2D2, the Ghostbusters' car, and am currently working on the Simpsons' House.

And he surprised me with a freelance project of his own a few weeks ago. made me Scrooge McDuck's money bin

^^ Very cool. I really dig that.

Recently decided to get some of the Legos I built as a kid. I occasionally have kids around the house, and had one help build this bad boy with me... Its a set from the mid-90's.

I don't know if I'm allowed to post a link, so just follow my signature, and you should get there ;) But I will say this, they are all really awesome! Definitely worth the investment.

There's this documentary about Legos called "A Lego Brickumentary" that can be bought on either DVD or Blu-ray. Netflix even has it, and it can be streamed on places like Vudu. I thought it was rather neat. You guys might want to check it out.
