East Meets West is a serviceable opening. Putting aside the impact of Venus' existence has on the turtles mythos I'd actualy say it's a good story.

I also liked the first two Dr. Quease focused episodes. I think it played around with Don wanting to believe one of his idols to be a good person quite well.

The only thing I did like were the Foot Soldiers in the first two episodes resembled the movie. As soon as Dragon Lord comes into the picture everything goes downhill.

It at least took a shot on trying a live action series where we could see live action fighting. I have nothing "against" CyberCubed, but his oblivious attitude to just how annoying he can get is hysterical. Despite the numerous signs of his off-putting and contradictory behavior, he still isn't aware of it, and he continues:

1) One of the most memorable was his partial contribution in having Ciro Nieli leave this forum (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=39758&page=6).

2) His oblivious contradictory behavior:
A. CyberCubed complains about others griping about the trivial details (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showpost.php?p=1140951&postcount=415) of the Nick Turtles dancing, yet he spent pages over debating (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=43160) about who the "real" Krang was.
B. He pridefully states that "others" take these forums too seriously (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showpost.php?p=1139642&postcount=34), then less than 48 hours no surprise (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showpost.php?p=1140204&postcount=70)...

3) It certainly indicates something if even a poll (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=43934) has a "Shut up, Cybercubed... :P" option and it's already in the lead, despite its humorous intention.

4) I don't think I have to remind others here that whenever anybody posts an opinion that CyberCubed doesn't agree with, he immediately replies with a personal insult that they "obviously haven't seen the show at all" or says they're delusional rather than merely disagreeing.

While I respect CyberCubed's vast wealth of TMNT information and without a doubt contributes to some thought provoking threads, his antagonistic strongly-opinionated viewpoint can irritate some. It's hard to take CyberCubed seriously when he states one thing, yet his behavior contradicts it consistently, and add strong pride to the equation... well it's no wonder some find him off-putting. So Leo656, normally I understand where you are coming from... but there's a reason why a significant proportion of users find him annoying, it's not his opinions, it's his behavior.

To me, I realized it's just the way CyberCubed is and to just enjoy the comedy show. :P

Not really. I never said Next Mutation was better than the '03 series. I simply would get more enjoyment out of re-watching it on DVD than I would the '03 series. That said, if, or rather when, they release the '03 series in a complete series box-set, I'll probably get it. Not before getting the OT's box-set (which I still need to do), but definitely eventually. Also, getting the complete NM series would be much cheaper to do. In-fact, if the two volumes are still available at retail, I'll probably buy them with some b-day money later this year.

Chef Boyardee needs to make a comeback in general. The world has become ridiculously ignorant of the good Chef and the bounty of oddly-shaped canned pasta noodles he delivered, many of which had nothing to do with TV characters. I haven't been able to find a can of RollerCoasters since like 1987. It's like ABCs and Dinosaurs are all that they pump out anymore. Shameful.

1.) The Dragon Lord- the most interesting and awesome villian on this show. I loved the potential this guy and his rank army had, potential that was squandered. This guy was so cool, he made it back into the Mirage universe (in the form of Go Komodo and King Komodo)

2.) Bonesteel- this crazy big game hunter was just fun to watch, and I'd love to see him come back, and go after Letherhead.

3.) Silver- a yeti gangster... what more do I need to say?

You sure it wasn't promoted as a continuation of the movies? It actually was loosely that. From the one time I ever plan to watch it, I remember Shredder saying he'd cut off Splinter's other ear. Add that to the fact all Foots were human and that it was given the same title as the movie series in France, "Tortues Ninja: Nouvelle Génération". The only bump in the road was the ep were The Turtles stated that they don't know any humans worth helping. :tconfuse:

Uhhh...I liked the design of the Wick puppet, until it started talking. That's all I got.

Cf: hair on non-mammalian mutants. Eh, it works if they started out as human, but otherwise it looks a little off. Of course, we all know it's done because some people can't accept a character as feminine unless she has bosoms and a full head of hair.

But because Mona Lisa and Venus are popular female mutants (or almost the only ones, anyway), fans use them as a template. I haven't checked to see if all these OC turtles with hair are mutated humans, but I'm betting not all of 'em are.

I liked homeless Shredder and the little subplot about if the TMNT could ever forgive him. That was probably about the most "worth exploring" concept in the show, I think.

That, and the fact that they did not feel the need to have them fight Shredder and only Shredder all the time forever like far too many other incarnations do.

Both the hair and the breasts do make sense for Mona Lisa, since she was once human. I'd argue that Venus having the shape of breasts on her plastron doesn't make sense, though, since she was never human at all to begin with... unless I'm remembering her origin story wrong?

And since I'm finding myself now falling into making a complaint about Next Mutation, I have to think of something nice to say to make up for it. Hmmm... well, crap, I can't think of anything new, so I'll just repeat what I said last time and say it has a catchy theme song. :lol:

Probably already been mentioned, but I do kind of like their individual mask designs in addition to the colors. Makes them stand out from one another all the more - though with that, they probably could have nixed the belt buckles.
