This is a response to the 'Most Overrated Songs' thread

One of mine would be 'Burning Heart' by survivor.

Just as good as 'Eye of the Tiger', yet very few people mention it.

Mostly everything on Dark Side of the Moon is underrated.:tcool:

Of course, out of all the Pink Floyd songs, "Comfortably Numb" is my favorite.

The Beatles have a song I have seen ranked high on thier own list as well as greatest songs list but the only reason I even know of it are these listings and I went to youtube to hear this masterpiece of reflection called "In My Life". Why is this classic piece never played on the radio if its commonly listed as great yet it is never heard?

Another catchy oldie that is underrated is The Association's "Windy" as people just remember it from a brief segment from The Drew Carey Show.

"Longtime" a wonderful instrumental from Boston. It gets some airplay but its hugely under recognoized. Some instrumentals don't get the deserved attention.

"She's So Cold" a Rolling Stones song that I would not know if not for youtube. Great lyrics and tune.

Due to the Holidays being upon us once again the most underrated Christmas tune is Snoopy's Christmas, a Christmas version of The Royal Guardsmen's "Snoopy vs The Red Baron".

Agree or disagree with any of these choices?

I can't believe you're posting that in seriousness.

Queen's "Innuendo" album-the last one before Freddy Mercury died.

"Headlong" from that album did get radio airplay though.

"Headlong" is one of my favourite Queen songs. In fact, I'd put Innuendo up there as my second favourite Queen album, after Sheer Heart Attack.

A very underrated album is Searching For The Young Soul Rebels by Dexy's Midnight Runners. Outside the UK, they're pretty much only known for "Come On Eileen", but their debut is one of the best albums of the past 35 years, a righteous mix of Northern Soul & Punk, just gorgeous horns & fury all the way through.

Seeing how 'Dark side of the moon' is the 2nd best selling album of all time, it isn't really underrated.

It's been long established that many people here don't know what under- or overrated means.

Actually, that song is titled "Christmas Bells", and it's the "sequel" to Snoopy vs the Red Baron". Both songs are off the Royal Gaurdsmen's "Snoopy's Christmas" album. I had it as a kid. I think my mom might still have it somewhere with all the other old records we've kept. I loved that album as a kid, and listened to it year-round, just because the songs were so good!

My list of most underrated songs includes ELO's "Fire on High", which I think is one of the most amazing instrumental tunes EVER! I also love Queen's "Princes of the Universe", which I've always felt was one of their best songs, even though it was for a movie/TV soundtrack.

Should be number one on all charts and on mtv etc, lmfao.
Certainly wipes the floor with eveything else on the charts imo.

I was listing it by its shorthand Snoopy's Christmas as its commonly called opposed its full name Christmas Bells (Snoopy's Christmas). That was a nice touch on a little known fact about WWI,the Christmas truce of 1914.

Another song that is overlooked is There's A Hole In The World Tonight by The Eagles. A wonderful harmony in tribute to the events of 9/11. Not being apart of one of their albums but individual release caused it to chart around 70. It deserved top 10 of the year.
