View Full Version : Technodrome Custom Homemade Eye Spy Radar

A few weeks back I picked up my first ever Technodrome at a local convention. In fact, I'd actually never even seen one in person until that day! I was very excited and got it at a very good price. Of course some parts were missing, but I was able to find some right there at the same show. The one part that has proven to be difficult (and expensive) to get has been the Eye Spy Radar. So I finally decided to just make my own.

The Eye Spy Radars are made from street hockey balls that can be found in a 4-pack at TRU for about $10. I coated them with vinyl paint first, otherwise the actual paint would never completely dry and the ball would be forever tacky. I did the rest of the paintwork using Krylon Fushion spray paints. I did all the masking by eye so they're not identical.

I drilled a hole on the bottom so it sits perfectly on top of the periscope mount, you can "steer" the eyeball with the steering wheel and when you pull it downwards, the eye rolls down the ramp just as the actual toy part would!
