Alex Deligiannis (aka Big Toon) style Raphael

I've been following Alex's work for about a year now and have thoroughly enjoyed his sketches - particularly his TMNT sketches. The most recent batch of IDW cover blanks he did blew me out of the water. I love the vivid colors and tones he used to bring his drawings to life. Those pics inspired me to make a turtle in his style. Overall I really like how it turned out. *I do kinda wish that I resculpted the mouth to a smaller, off to the side smirk only because it would have added a little more originality to the head as appose to keeping the figures regular mouth (which is still suitable).

*This is pretty much what it would look like with the smaller off to the side smirk I referenced to.

Alex, if you're out there, I'd like to hear your preference.

Nice work!

Wow, Raph's put on some weight around the legs:lol:

I wasn't familiar with Alex Deligiannis' work, so looked him up, and found this:

Based on that, I'd say you nailed his style pretty darn well!

Looks great as usual. Compared to the artwork posted above, if I had one critique it would be to make the head a little larger.

I follow Big Toon on Instagram and really enjoyed his work on the IDW Covers. You captured his style spot on if you ask me! As with all your customs, great job man!

Great work as usual. His legs seem a bit bulky but it's obviously part of the design.

Don't know if you've already started on your next project, but sometime I'd like to see you give Future Donatello (Archie comics) a go if you're open for it. Also, Slash from the IDW series would be cool, it would be a step away from the usual characters as well. :)

I'm really just blown away that you'd do this at all, man - to say nothing of how awesome it turned out. I absolutely love it! As far as preference goes, I'd probably say you're right that the mouth should be off to the side (especially based on that raph drawing), but it still looks killer as is. Honored to see this, man - thank you!

Plastroncafe, mousesi2k- thanks!

TV'sRobLowe-thanks. a little girth to the head would look good, but in the end the risks outweighed the gain. There would have been a high probability I would have messed it up for a minor improvement...not to mention all the work to do it.

filespit- thanks! the future don is kinda cool. Gotta admit though, I'm not much of an archie fan, so I'll probably never get around to him. However...i am working on my next project and you guessed it! I am almost done my Santolouco (IDW) style Slash! I only have his left hand to sculpt and then I can move on to paint!!!

Toon- thanks alex! I'm very pleased that you like it :) I went ahead and redid the mouth to resemble the moc-up I did. I'll post updated pics tomorrow.
