James Avery Annouced dead on new years eve at the Los angeles hospital since he was undergoing a surgery cause he had an illness,but it became worse....we'll always remember him as the shredder and the funny but lovable philip banks.

I hated hearing this news. He was a great father figure as Uncle Phil on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He was also my first favorite cartoon villain as The Shredder on the original TMNT cartoon. He will always be my favorite Shredder voice on t.v. and I will never forget the way he said some of Shredder's quotes from the series. You will be very missed James Avery.
