There should be a forum for comic conventions, meets, signings and tmnt related events across the nation to be shared. :) I looked for one on this forum but did not find one!!

There's really no need for it. There aren't many people on this board who actively partake in convention hopping & the sort. When something comes up, it's just made note of in the appropriate section, which is more often than not, for comics.

I disagree.

With a large and varied selection of sub forums like this http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/imgs/statusicon/subforum_old.gif Current Events (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/forumdisplay.php?f=25), http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/imgs/statusicon/subforum_new.gif TV and Movies (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/forumdisplay.php?f=26), http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/imgs/statusicon/subforum_new.gif Video Games (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/forumdisplay.php?f=27), http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/imgs/statusicon/subforum_old.gif Toys and Collectibles (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/forumdisplay.php?f=37), http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/imgs/statusicon/subforum_old.gif Music (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/forumdisplay.php?f=28), http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/imgs/statusicon/subforum_old.gif Books, Comics, and Other Literature (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/forumdisplay.php?f=29), http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/imgs/statusicon/subforum_old.gif Art and Design (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/forumdisplay.php?f=42), http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/imgs/statusicon/subforum_new.gif Everything Else (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/forumdisplay.php?f=30), http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/imgs/statusicon/subforum_old.gif Forum Games (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31), http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/imgs/statusicon/subforum_old.gif The Disintegrator Unit (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/forumdisplay.php?f=38) there seems to be a affinity on this forum for organized sub forums for specific topics.

It seems to me that when you say "There aren't many people on this board who actively partake in convention hopping & the sort." its because this forum does not yet facilitate that ability.

I travel a lot, and love to check out shows and conventions related to TMNT and other pop shows. Having a dedicated forum here to organize information on events would cost $0 for the forums admins to add, and could just be a great asset to the members of this forum.

I just learned on facebook that some guy in Michigan is organizing "the ultimate TMNT event" where is going for some sort of crazy Guinness world record for most people dressed as TMNT. I was like... why is there no thread about this event on the DROME, which ought to be the #1 online TMNT fans source for all news, info and discussion for all TMNT relatedness there is?

It's not a matter of opinion that people don't get hyped up about events here. I've been around long enough to know. Even threads for NYCC & SDCC get limited activity. Toy conventions are to be posted about in the toy section, comic cons in the comics section, and general conventions that include the turtles in some capacity in general discussion. That's about as much facilitation as needed.

Agreed.

No matter what sub-forums exist, threads about events won't exist until someone makes one. If you know of an event that should have a topic, pick the best sub-forum and create it.

I've known about the Michigan event you speak of for months and I have absolutely no interest in attending or promoting it. The guy is constantly spamming Facebook and Instagram about it and it doesn't know if it wants to be a martial arts event, an entertainment event, or a specifically TMNT event.

No, if he was, the stars that show his posts would be in yellow/gold.

I think this is a great idea. Maybe it could just be a calender style layout. Users could submit an event to a mod who could add it under a particular month. No harm in trialling it.
