View Full Version : Has Casey Jones in 2k12 gotten the "batman" treatment?

I am genuinely asking this for other views on such an idea.
Call me crazy, but I feel that Casey is a common BA and buddy to the turtles now (and hopefully will be for a while). "But is he too OP?", is what I sometimes ponder. Don't get me wrong, I love this new Casey portrayal, but I feel that from what we've seen in his ice rink fight ep (?), "TG, TB & CJ" and the more recent "Of Rats and men" episode, that he has an aura of our strong male human to relate to... hence he's made just as strong or stronger than mutants at times, yet still human.
Just like Batman managing "meta"humans as a mere human himself, making him at times seem...invincible?
Please respond I just had this thought and am very intrigued to what you guys think of this idea:tgrin:

I don't think that's exclusive to Casey, really. I kinda feel that's true of every character at different points.

Personally, I would say he's gotten more of the Xander Harris treatment. (Google it) he's not the smartest guy in the group, but he's serious when he needs to be and cracks a lot of jokes.
Oh, I thought you were going to bring up his batman disguise voice.

Me too. I mean you gotta admit that was one cool deep voice

If Casey does his vigilante voice, I hope we get some Eastwood quotes. :P

Nah, he's had his fair share of mistakes in this. It's still amazing the contrast between him and the Pulverizer LOL.

I guess that's kinda true (I watched a bit of Buffy back in the day :tgrin:) infact it is true that really any human to be worth thier salt in a show almost have to get on that "epic" level. But yeah it was just a thought

I hope to see more of this Casey. Let's hope he doesn't have to loose an eye.

I really like this version of Casey, but yeah, I think he's a little "too good" at fighting. He's a scrawny kid that I doubt has spent his life training to fight, yet he can hang with mutants that are ninjas and fight off villains with ease. I don't let it bother me at all, but yeah, I think he's too good to be so young and inexperienced. Being a good hockey player doesn't prep you for fighting mutants, aliens, and super strong robots. But, this is a kids cartoon afterall (even though us big boys and girls here love it!!). ;)

I do like his equipment, and how "Macgyver" it looks.

YeAh, I guess he's a a little too good at fighting, but it makes for one cool character. And I like how this Casey doesn't just use sports equipment, he makes his own stuff. The flip down skates is awesome and really shows his hockey skills, also adds a new kind of fighting style, other than just hitting with blunt objects. The electric thing, the spray paint cans, now even his bike. Casey went from being my least favorite character in every other incarnation, to being one of, if not my favorite character.

I'm mostly just glad that this Casey isn't as big a doof as the 4Kids Casey. He channels more on the Elias Koteas side of things (which to me is the definitive Casey Jones), not exactly mind you, but definitely more similar than not.

He's the Zeppo.
Or...he should be the Zeppo.
But I do agree that there are times when he's just too competent at fighting. So...instead of Xander, he's more like Gun from 'Angel.'

Definitely a Gun vibe from Casey in his aptitude of fighting, though I like Casey more than I ever liked Gun...

I totally agree, Casey wasn't meant to be a goof ball, so i'm glad on that. It's probably just the fact he is younger that it bothers me. Still awesome though!

I do agree, he is too good at fighting, but also, I think they portrayed his fighting abilities really well that he's a reckless fighter, so he won't be as good as the other turtles. The only time he was really OP was against Raphael which made no sense because of his lack of training. I mean, I can never imagine Casey even standing a chance against Slash.

Well in the 1990 movie Casey was good at knocking bad guys around with sports equipment. Though he stunk at basic hand to hand unarmed combat. The Casey from the newer cartoon is actually pretty intelligent, making the exploding pucks and the fold out skates.

I agree with what you said.
Plus, and there is this with a lot of characters (particular Shredder), I find a lot of Casey's lines to be very repetitive. There's only so many times you can say "Leave this to Casey Jones." Although Josh Peck is doing great as his voice, I have to say. He appears to have a voice acting talent beyond his years.
