That's just a taste of our coverage. If you look behind that mysterious robot, you'll see a placard saying that Playmates and Konami teamed up...also, notice the Hot Wheels-esque race cars? I'm still VERY undecided on the Armored turtles.

They're nice, but could be much better. Saki's eyes need work, and I know it's possible after seeing how flawless the April and Casey figures were. And the Shredder Elite looks kinda plain. Probably a couple color washes would fix it up nicely.

can some one put up the Elite foot, casue I've been up and down the site, and can't seem to find it.

The shredders a waste, if they were going to do one with a removable helmet they could have at least changed the body

I wish they'd make the Saki toy with all his armor removable. That would be cool.

That saki is awesome! I can't wait for all of these figures. It's a good time to be a TMNT fan. :D

It also looks like that may not be the only video game figure released.

Btw, your site is great. I love it. But I wish I had never gone there, now I see all this stuff I want and short of winning the lottery, I have no idea how I'm goning to pay for it all. :P

It looks just like a mini one to me, unless there was something I missed. But really, what kid wouldn't want to play with overweight guy who likes garbage?

Cool pictures. :o :o I wonder when we'll get more mutant figures & stuff?? Well, now that I htink about it, the first TMNT toyline didn't even get other mutant animal characters made until like the 3rd or 4th assortment of figures. So, maybe soon we will some some non-human figures in the new line? :-?

I just want a Snailman figure, or a made-to-scale version of Leatherhead. If we at least get Leatherhead I'll be happy, you know? :D

They won't be making any mutant figures ever. There's not going to be any in the new show, and this toy line is for the new show.

Glad you like it!

Leatherhead very well could be in the new show, since he was in the original comic as the only other mutant. And for the record, not that it matters, it's our site; it's me and four other guys working day and night on it.

Ok I'd like to set something straight here, I know what the reports say, but they only go so far in to the series. Last I cheacked we don't know anything past the first season, as it stands now there probly won't be any in the second season (well new any way). But if we go into a 3rd or beyond the odds of other aniaml based creatures showing may increase. we have no way of knowing where the story line is going to go. And just becasue the people in charge don't want muatnats coming out of the wood work right now it doesn't mean that over time other mutants might not sneak in. We don't know the future just cause they say one thing right now doesn't mean they'll hold true to it later (kinda like the government). And they do have mutants in the show already, and they did leave in the story open to having Quary, Stone Biter, and Razor fist coming back, so them getting the figure treatment is not out of the question.

Again just cause they say no mutants now it doesn't mean they may not decide to make some later if they see a market for them

It is, according to our person at SDCC. The silver/gold definitely is, and the blue *should* be.

That didn't stop them with the old toyline. More then half of the characters/toys made in the old line were of completely made-up characters who rarely had screen time. There was a letter in the most recent issue of ToyFare which had to do with TMNT & stuff. Here's the letter from ToyFare:

<<Dear Toyfare,
I have been a TMNT fan since I was put on this planet. But I was a little disapoiintedwith the coming of the Extreme Sport Ninja line in wave two.
I was afraid this would happen. Now, don't get me wrong, I own wave one (including vehicles) and I feel that it is good to have new characters (Hun, April, and Casey). But what worries me is that when the ESN figures come out, it will spark the need to create so many variants of the Turtles that eventually you won't be able to even look at the color green without getting sick. That's what I feel was part of the demise of the original TMNT figures.

-Jon>>

So, then the ToyFare letter page guy gave this reply, which explains much:

<<I was curious as to the company's take on the whole thing, so I got in touch with toy veteran Vinnie D'Allvea, now VP of marketing for boys toys at Playmates. "If you go back historically and look at the Turtles line, most of the figures were not Turtles," he says. "Most of the them were all secondary characters. That's what made the line so strong and so rich. The more diversity...the better the storyline, the better the toy line."
D'Alleva says they'll do a couple of different versions of the Turtle figures each year, but "no Farmer Turtle and no Surfin' Dude Turtle." He says the Extreme Sports versions were made because they're in the show's opening credits, and he promises they're "the furthest we'll stray" from the classic Turtles. Next up is Fighting Gear Turtles, with removable armor that the Turtles could have made themselves from items in the sewer or junkyard, he says. Under the armor, they'll be super-articulated Turtles figures that collectors will dig. So relax, Jon...Playmates feels your pain.>>

So, it looks like the odds of Playmates doing some more secondary characters just shot up a couple of notches, huh?

Ok I'd like to set something straight here, I know what the reports say, but they only go so far in to the series. Last I cheacked we don't know anything past the first season, as it stands now there probly won't be any in the second season (well new any way). And they do have mutants in the show already, and they did leave in the story open to having Quary, Stone Biter, and Razor fist coming back, so them getting the figure treatment is not out of the question.

Yeah, what kid wouldn't want to buy a Quary, Stone Biter or Razorfist figure? Hell, I know I'd buy a Stone Biter figure- that guy's awesome! :D

Like, I remember the old Palladium Books TMNT & Other Strangeness RPG. In that, mutant animals weren't everywhere, but almost every adventure in the main book contained them: There were the Terror Bears the 4 psionic mutant bear cubs, Caesar the mutant Wolveriene & his 3 mutant weasels & mutant bat, Doc Feral & all his Bio-Spawn stuff & the Terror on Rural Route 5 adventure with the Mutant bull named Ferd, a mutant hound dog named Buck & 18 mutant pigs.

::scratches head:: Okay, now what I meant by listing all of that, was that in those adventures mutant animals weren't all over the place, but the player characters would come across them alot. Like if you go looking for trouble it's going to find you or something. Since the turtles are mutants, the odds of them coming across other mutants is higher then say a non-mutant coming across them.

Basically, what I'm trying to get across, is if the old toyline could make up stuff to include oddly dressed Turtles variants & mutant moose candian mounties, then doing it again shouldn't be a very hard task to accoplish.

Again just cause they say no mutants now it doesn't mean they may not decide to make some later if they see a market for them

::nods:: Yeah, I mean, look at the new MotU toyline. The kids responded very well to the SnakeMen on the TV show, & that's why they're making SnakeMen figures & having the second season deal with the Snake men a little more. Animal people are just cool toys- period. :D

In the end its all about money, if they see people want mutants or one shot charcters from the show they may start doing them. I cans ee them making a Silver Sentry and his bad guy.

And I know if it was done well, I'd get a Razorfist figure

And you never know they may decide to change existing chaters from the books, like say, a mutant Klunk

If they think they can make money off these guys they'll do it. And I think they probly should start doing it to a degree cause the thus far I'm not impressed with the vast majortiy of their human based figures (the only real exception being Casey). This may change but given how well the first turtles and Splint in the line looked, their skill may be in mutants

i woulden't mind maybe one or two one shot figs in each wave, just as long as it dosent turn in to entire waves filled with mutant elephants, manta rays, camels, and giraffes.

the Usagi fig, maybe a new Panda Khan, the mutant frogs, and a few others would be cool to see remade.

The shredder looks too much like the old one other than the silver armor. I'll have to wait to find out how much more articulation the armor TMNT have though. does someone know?

YEAH, that's be cool. Or those guys from the "the King" episode. Now THOSE need to be toys. :D

And I know if it was done well, I'd get a Razorfist figure

All it needs is claw-snappin' action & ball-jointed shoulders. That's good stuff. :)

Whom or what is a Klunk? :-?

Yeah, same here. Casey Jones is cool, other then that the others are kinda crappy. I mean, the Foot Soldier is kinda cool, & so is Shredder, but why didn't they give Hun ball jointed shoulders? His arms are big enough you know..
