It isnt the main continuity, but for anyone who invested in the "Archie marries Betty/Veronica" futures, it's a bummer that he doesnt even get a happy ending with either one of them in the twin universes as the same sequence of events play out. Why are comics obsessed with not letting their heroes grow old with their loved ones like the best of humanity?

I'm skeptical. Wasn't there some big Archie event a couple years ago publicized about everywhere where Archie was finally going to pick Betty or Veronica... but it ended up just being a bust or an imaginary story? They're just doing sensationalism.

That's how the "Life With Archie" comic began...based off the two scenarios that played out over the course of the anniversary stories where he married both Betty and Veronica in two seperate realitys.

The regular book will continue uninterupted with Archie staying in high school and never picking either girl forever, but it's still sad that an alternative option for fans sick of that status quoe are being given shock value like this
