So after much internal debate I've decided to purge my figure collection. Yesterday I took back the figures that had zero emotional connection to me or the original series cartoon series.

I no longer own:
Fish Face
Dog Pound
Snakeweed
Cockroach Terminator

Nor do I plan on buying:
Squirrelanoid
Spider Bytez
Kirby Bat

So, that being said.. are any of the characters mentioned above related to past stories, series, comics, etc? Or are they supposed to show homage to past characters in any way?

And lastly, what's the deal with Rhazar? Is this a nod to Secret of the Ooze? And why does Tiger Claw seem so familiar?

I know I'm throwing a lot out there at once, and it's probably obvious that I haven't watched much of the new series.. but I'd greatly appreciate any input.

All the characters you listed are original characters from the Nick show, so no, they're not from any previous incarnations.

As for Rahzar...if you don't mind spoiling yourself about the Nick show...
He's really Dogpound. Dogpound got mutated a second time and turned into Rahzar. It's still a very different character than the Rahzar from Secret of the Ooze, they only share the same name.

I know they are mutated squirrels or something but are these creatures also supposed to be an homage to the Pizza Monsters from the Original Cartoon?

The Squirrelanoids are based on the Xenomorphs from the Alien franchise. The Pizza Monsters were also loosely based on those, so that's probably about the gist of their relation.

The above is what got me thinking. So I was just checking if there were other theories out there as far as nods to the new characters go.

Actually Kirby Bat would be a relation to Wingnut. On the show Mikey names him that, but Donnie said not to name him due to it being inappropriate because he is the father of April, so he is just referred to as Mr. O' Neil, but that would have been boring on an action figure package apparently. I believe he was named after the comic book artist Jack Kirby.

this falls under the i will believe it when i see it, sure their may be a rhino and a warthog but i strongly doubt they will be the "beebop and rocksteady" people want to see

Well, if we're going purely on looks, they look like the old Bebop & Rocksteady, just with a modern twist. Whether their personalities will resemble the old show, I couldn't say.

Squirrelanoids remind me a lot of the monsters in the Case of the Killer Pizzas:

No pics yet... Discogod was lucky enough to attend the UK toyfair that showed off the new toys. :D

I do believe it was mentioned somewhere that they were only pictures of the two mutated henchmen. Why we haven't seen them is beyond me.

I am guessing the pictures of the bumbling duo was a standee similar to the early pictures of this metalhead:
