Hello Friends, hope you have trained hard cause it`s time to march again. Back in 1992 and after I presume a success in sales the Second Series of the Mutant Military Turtles came out featuring: Kookie Kavalry Leo, Navy Seal Mike, Yankee Doodle Raph, Delta Team Don, Private Porknose Bebop and Dimwit Doughboy Rocksteady.

The sculpt of these figures was really good (again we got a whole new mold for each of these new figures) perhaps surpassing the first series of Mutant Military Turtles which I have talked in this thread http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=46738

The carboard art was awesome, although we don`t have the famous brick wall we do have the three illustrations for each of this new set, with lots of details and I think threse were very similar in terms of concept to the 1992 Wacky Wild West Turtles which I have talked in this thread http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=45619

Other thing that I loved in this second serie is that Playmates decided to make Militaries from different times, word war I and II, civil war, wild west, modern times, etc.

Time to see what this new army got, let`s start with our brave leader Leo.

Kookie Kavalry Leo was a more than awesome figure full of details, love the choice of colours used for this figure and the arrow in his hat (maybe a work of Leo`s twin/counterpart 1992 Chief Leo from the 1992 Wacky Wild West Turtles series?). The accessories were a Kowabunga Katana Blade Banner (vital), Bodacious Bugle (also vital), Power Packed Pistol, Side-slung Sword, Bogus Belt with Sewer Scabbard (love this one).

I still haven’t found a good review of Kookie Kavalry Leo

Well, let`s go now to the depths of the ocean cause it`s time to cover, the Second of this army which is no other than Navy Seal Mike

Navy Seal Mike was a nice figure in terms of sculpt, full of details although in this case I do prefer his 1991 Mutant Military ancestor Midshipman Mike, I consider this second one a too serious figure for Mikey to be honest. However, if you got the 1991 Sewer Sub vehicle this is a must have if you need to go for underwater explorations.

The accessories were Mutant Mines , sewer Spear Gun (very necessary), Reptile Regulator, Turtle-textured O2 Tanks, and Heavier-than-water Weight Belt

I still haven’t found a good review of review of Navy Seal Mike.

The Third one in this ranks is Yankee Doodle Raph

This figure was great in terms of sculpt, concept and the choice of colours was also the correct one. Love how Playmates wanted us to go back to our history roots.

The accessories were Bodacious Bed Roll (love this one), Removable Belt, Reptile Rifle with Sai Bayonet, Foot Firin' Flint Pistol and Cool Canteen with String-a-long Strap

I still haven’t found a good review of Yankee Doodle Raph

The Mutant Military Turtles never appeared in the original tv show but I believe, they could have been featured anytime they went to a war againt their enemies Krang and Shredder in diferents ages of time.

Here are featured in the 1992 Playmates toy catalog (Photo Courtesy of Vaughn Michael) Many still at the drawing stage

Anyone knows if there was a Tv commercial for Mutant Military Turtles?

According to the Toy catalog chances are…

What do you think about this second series of Mutant Military Turtles? Do
you got this ones?

Any memories you wanna share from where you bought and saw it the very first time?

Thanks a lot for reading

Great post as always, Bill! I never had any of these, but I think they are all pretty neat. Probably one of the few turtle variants that were tolerable. I think I like Raph's variant the best, he's pretty much a Civil War Union soldier.

I have bebop and rocksteady moc from this set! They are really awesome and my favorite variants of those two.

Um. That's a little bit of a stereotype with that Bandito one. Racist reptile Mikey!

I think I like the Raph one best! :)

The set is nice . But.. For me, Leo and Raph in those Calvary outfits belong in my western set. Kooky Calvary is awesome with lots of near gear.
