Oh gods. It's happening. Sony is gonna make a Hybrid Sonic the Hedgehog movie.. :o :ohwell:

I'm a big Sonic fan...but I don't know what to think. If they're going to do the whole thing where they put the characters in the "real world" and do all the typical "what is this technology I have never seen this before wut lol" jokes then let's just say...it won't be good. We'll see.

Oh my gosh this makes me so happy :o Ive always wanted a proper Sonic movie and to see him live action.

There were rumors recently because Sony registered domain names for a sonic movie website but it wasn't confirmed yet.

I hope sooo much its really true. I don't care what people think about Cartoon-to-Live Action movies.

Huge Sonic the Hedgehog fan here too. I'm not sure what to think about this movie either. I mean, my favorite fictional things are Sonic/TMNT, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Disney (animation/Pixar), and Spider-Man, Batman, & X-Men (and that's just my top eight :tgrin:). So in a three year span I'll have new movies from all of these properties except Sonic (unless it comes out in two years).

So on one hand, it's great that Sonic will now enter the fray of having a proper movie made of the character. But at the same time, if it turns out to be like Scooby-Doo of The Smurfs......I won't be crazy about it. It's really going to depend on story and tone. I wish it were all animation or CG but I fear they're going to force human characters in it just.... because. I know Dr. Robotnik is human enough but he's the only human-like character we need in a Sonic movie (or anything for that matter).

And I just hope Knuckles shows up...probably in a sequel though honestly. I'd love to see my favorite character (because Archie) in a movie in the future. I always find it funny that my favorite two characters were at one time both handled by Archie Comics. :tsmile:

That's Sonic Boom, not this movie. But since they're coming out at around the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if they used the Sonic Boom designs or took from its continuity.

That said, we don't know anything about this so I'm reserving judgement. Sonic is really hit or miss for me, as I'm sure it is for many other fans. As long as they don't revisit the Sonic 06 Eggman design, I'll have a good first impression.

It's been confirmed that it's not based on boom http://www.sonicstadium.org/2014/06/sonic-movie-not-based-on-boom/ over at the sonic forums he told us it's not based on boom, i personally hope it's a origin story to show how Sonic meets Tails and if they have to put humans in it, i hope they make it like Sonic X, or Sonic adventure.

A Sonic-meets-Tails origin story would be adorable and I'd be all for it. Not enough stories regarding this exist in any Sonic canon, and it'd make a really great movie, too, if done right!
