This has always bothered me since I was a kid. I apologize if this has been discussed here before but, what is that thing in the middle of the TGRI lab? When I was a kid, I always thought it was their way of including Krang into the movie lol. Does anyone here know what the heck it is?

An Utrom was supposed to be in the movie, but they thought people would get the Utrom confused with Krang, so they decided to change it. For the best, in my opinion.

So was it that they intended that to a utrom and just decided not to mention it? Just seems a little weird that its sitting there connected to all those tubes.

Just set designing to make it look futuristic and cool I think.

It was just a big ol' hunk of fools gold. Just set dressing I'd imagine.
