View Full Version : Shell Cell = COOLEST toy yet!

I picked up the Shell Cell tonight at Wal-Mart Supercenter. They had just put them out. I got it home, and started playing with the Try Me button through the hole in the box. There are some REALLY sweet samples in there -- not stuff taken out of the show, but NEW lines. The best one is the new Mikey doing the movie Mikey's infamous "I LOVE BEING A TURTLE!" line. I LOVE IT! At right under $20 including tax, you all DEFINITELY need to pick this up.

And on a side note, there was a kid around age 12 there who totally nearly soiled himself over a Casey Jones figure. There were tons of them there, but yet he all but dove onto the shelf for it. Then, he handed it to his accomplace, who I gather was his brother, and told him to "put it in Momma's cart underneath something." I'm thinking, "Yeah, that'll work just fine until she puts those giant underwear onto the counter to be checked out and sees Casey looking up at her from underneath." In the words of Splinter -- "Kids..."

Yes, it's defiently one of the best things out yet. However, a $14.99 price tag is a bit bunch i think. They could lower it 2-3 $?!?!?!?!

I'm not into these roleplaying sets. If I want a cell phone, I want one I can use to call somebody with. If I want a pair of Sai's I'll go to army barracks and buy a real pair for 20 bucks.

Well, to be fair, they ARE intended for kids who are like, 5-10, not teens and early 20-somethings. I don't think they actually were *expecting* you to buy em, cqb. :P

Well, for what it's worth, I do have the real weapons for each turtle, mostly identical to those used in the movies. There were some pictures on my pics of my room thread...somewhere...

I finally found the Shell-Cell today. It is cool. Unfortunatly, it was $16.99 where I was, and I didn't have that much on me. :(

My brother practically had to pry it from my hands... But I'll go back for it. Soon. :)

Yeah, I was surprised to hear about it too! But the Shell Cell is apparently out now. Take a look at Josh's collection thread, and you can see the box in the pic. Pretty sweet.

that toy didnt realy impress me . i seen it at wal-mart. i was actually hoping it would be like walky talkys but it just makes sounds doesnt it?

Lets face it, the Shell Cell isn't that great compared to the old Turtle Comm. Now that was an awesome toy!

I don't think it's been spotted at KB yet, but it will most definately be atleast 55 dollars more than it is at Target.

I haven't even seen it at the Target near me, or at the KB Toys. The only place around me that has it is Toys R Us, and, like I said earlier, it was $16.99...

I'm heading out to Target tomorrow. Hopefully I can find it there. Wish me luck! (Then again, if all else fails, there's always my impending birthday, and my family members who support my TMNT collection obsession. :) )

Thanks! :D Actually, it worked! I went there and they did have the Shell Cell. It was marked at $14.99. Unfortunatly, the car needed gas, and my not wanting to walk all day to get home out-weighed my need for the Shell Cell. But, my Gram was with me, and she did buy me two more toys. :) I think I mentioned it enough that I will get the Shell Cell as a present, though. My Gram's so cool.

I just got it today. I pretty cool, nothin real special. The only bad thing I can find is that each turtles has only like 2 or 3 sayings. Other than that its not too bad.

Sounds cool, I'll have to check it out if i see it. Though I probably wont get it, I'm more into just figures themselves and not so much the accessories. That and it would probably be doubled the price up here in Canada :cry:

Getting back to the Shell Cell, seeing it in the store brought back alot of fond memories I had playing with my old Turtle Comm which I felt was much cooler looking! I mean it was more like a walkie talkie looking device instead of some lame cell phone.

:oops:.... I dunno what to say, except that the rubber ducky wasn't mine! I swear!

Anyway, I did manage to pick up a Shell Cell for around $16. I like all of the turtle sayings, but the sound FX are weird and annoying at times. Makes me wish that I would've bought a Turtle Comm many years ago.

Hrmmm... I might have considered the toy, had I not happened across this 16 inch Bringer of Chaos, who also comes along with the unfortunate price of $50. And then suddenly, he sounded like a much more fun play toy for my Turtle figures than a noisy shell cell. Layaway is a good thing. :evilgrin:

Of course, I'm holding out for the next wave of Turtle figures as well. Yeah...

I drove down to Washington State yesterday and picked up a Shell Cell and the new Foot Razor Jet. The Shell Cell was $14.99us at Target and the Razor Jet was $12.99us at Target as well. I also grabbed the new Tmnt board game at Target, It was $12.99us and I got a 100 piece puzzle for $2.99us. It was a good stop for me :)
