Okay. I'm not usually one to complain but there's quite a few people around here but especially in the movie section that see fit to use multiple animated gifs in one post.

It's obnoxious and slows the site to a crawl on mobile devices and perhaps slower PCs.

Maybe a limit of 2 gifs per post or some such? Other sites use that rule.

I agree, it has been getting kind of ridiculous. My computer isn't slowing down because of it, but I know that it happens for others, and I don't even wanna try to go on here on a mobile device...

Yeah, it's really obnoxious.

I've put numerous people on my ignore list as of late for this sole reason. Drives me up the walls. I've done it once or twice in the past but some folks are making one hell of a habit out of it.

This (http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showpost.php?p=1311954&postcount=76) post immediately came to mind. All those gifs are not necessary at all.

Especially when they're all saying the same exact thing.

It's not that funny. It's just annoying.

Have to agree. While many of them are cool and all that, I tend to avoid the gif heavy threads due to my computer's age. Using spoiler would be of help at the very least.

Agree with everyone here. The 2012 GIF thread is the worst. It makes my computer freeze up. If you are going to put GIFs in a post, please Spoiler them.

The worst is when people have them in their signatures as well as their post.

Ah sorry guys, I know I tend to post gifs in my responses sometimes - I'll spoiler them if I post more than one; would that help? My apologies if I have annoyed anyone by doing this; I thought it was the signature gifs that were crapping up people's computers.

I use mobile too, but if it's loading slow, just hit stop loading. You can just read the forum texts. Simple.

I know there's a 10 image limit (oddly even emoticons count), I wonder if there is a way to change the number of gifs to less than that....as they are MUCH larger and cause these issues..

If you're on mobile, you might want to consider seeing if you can disable viewing poster signatures and avatars to help with loading times.

Those don't show up on the mobile site, anyway. GIFs posted in a response do.
