What are people's thoughts on this game?

I was considering picking it up as I really, really enjoyed the first TMNT 2K3 video game that came out in like October of 2003. I really, really hated Battle Nexus when it came out and we had it on Gamecube at the time.

I was watching some videos of Mutant Nightmare and it looked pretty interesting. While I'm more of a fan of when you and your team mate are the only Turtles on screen, I think the controls look interesting enough.

Plus, a big seller for me is getting an actual physical copy of Turtles in Time as it's a bonus feature with this game. While it lost some of the music rights for that version and features an almost entirely new soundtrack, I still would love to get my hands on it. I wasn't as attached to the music on this game as I never had Super Nintendo and have only really played the game on the rare chance I saw Turtles in Time not being occupied at an arcade.

Anyway, thoughts on Mutant Nightmare?

I've only played the portable versions of the 4kids games. But I liked them all. Mutant Nightmare was pretty much just like the others, but with some wonky touchscreen mechanics thrown in...

Cool! I'll need to check it out then. It's only going for like 10 bucks online. Not bad.

I actually have it for Gamecube. Its a decent game but pretty repetitive. One thing i love about it is that you can costumize each turtles moves and equiping power ups can boost stats. I suggest picking it up. Its a fun beat-em up. If you like the first one im guessing youll like it too.

I like Mutant Nightmare, I was playing it on the PS2 a couple of weeks ago. It's better than Battle Nexus but not as good as the first game though. I thought the gameplay in Battle Nexus was really frustrating to the point where I just felt like smashing my controller off the floor lol Ended up having to use cheats to finish the game because I kept dying. The gameplay in Mutant Nightmare is definately an improvement and you should check it out.

I enjoyed it over a month or two as I completed it on PS2. I don't quite love the "level up" concept of games, but this one seemed to work out alright. I've enjoyed this game more than Battle Nexus. The final fight with the Chrell Mega-Shredder armor was a challenge for me, but a rewarding victory. The Same as it Never Was arc was also nice to play through.

Plus, it is cool how you do get to play as non-traditional characters in some mini-game sequences when Casey Jones, April O'Neil, Traximus, and Fugitoid. The escort level with April in the "Space Invaders" level can be frustratingly tough unless you really know your way around the level. April has a tendency to get herself blown up and force you to restart the level often.

I was greatly disappointed by the emulation on the Turtles in Time easter egg. Eh...

Used to be my favourite game back in the day! That's when the 2003 series was at its best and Ninja Turtles in general was like my whole life. Still a good game!

It covers Season 3 even though it has the Ninja Tribunal elements from Season 5. Wish we got a game about Season 4....

this game is really awesome on the ps2, especially if you have a multi-tap. I would love to see it on Playstation Now for Ps4,that being said, get it dude you wont be disappointed, and it has the Arcade "Turtles In Time" unlockable in the game.

I haven't played it in a long time, got it for the Gamecube. I did enjoy them all though, was/am a big fan of the 03' series so the games somewhat quenched my thirst. I actually might try to convince my fiance to play these with me one day :tgrin:

If you liked the other two I say you'd probably like this one. You do have all four turtles on screen this time which was kind of neat.

I had written a draft post about TMNT on Nintendo hand-held systems, but after doign a forum search I think some of my questions can be answered without creating anew thread.

My main question for this game is does the DS version have the Turtles in Time unlockable game? If so, does it play/look like the original?

Can't find any screen shots or videos of confirmed DS play.

Any help or advice appreciated, thanks

I have the game and have never been able to beat it. Every couple of years I go back to it and continue where I left off and get my ass handed to me.

HOWEVER I don't think TiT (heh) is an extra. In the Playstation games, you unlock the classic games after beating the first few levels - you don't need to finish the whole game. But, if I remember correctly, I have all four turtles in the last level in Mutant Nightmare on the DS, and so far, no unlocked games.

I may have a definitive answer for you when I finish the game around 2026. Stay tuned!

Thanks, appreciate your comments! Sounds like TiT is not on the DS version...

A very solid buy. I am pretty sure it came out for all 3 systems and DS. I have found several copies over the years at garage sales. Great trade bait. Great deal even on Ebay.
