View Full Version : Caseyjonesfan's Custom Figures

Figured since I have several figures done and a few started I would make a single thread instead of a bunch of new ones each time I finish a new figure.

So to start here is my April O'Neil figure I finished about a month ago. The base was a Retro Action Real Ghostbusters Janine melnitz figure.
I used an exacto knife to cut the front chunk of hair off, then used some air dry to result new hair. I used acrylic paints to paint everything and some cloth paint to make the jumpsuit yellow. I decided to draw on the details and honestly I am not happy that I did that but I am content enough with it to move on to other projects for the time being.
Her accessories on her belt including the thing on the back and the turtle comm on the side along with the 2nd turtle comm in her hand and microphone were sculpted out of sculpey oven bake. The chord on the microphone is a thick bendy wire. Both accessories in her hand are removable.

Overall I'm happy with it but the hair and details on the jumpsuit bug me the most. The hair was a pain in the ass because the air dry clay was so brittle and would fall apart everytime I would get it attached. I plan to dredo the hair in the future to be more screen acurate.

This is a little diorama base I made for a Hallmark retro Leonardo Christmas ornamemt I have. He was hanging on my wall but it was really difficult to see him so I thought I'd come up with a proper way to display him.

The base itself is clay. I made a little trench in it and painted it, then filled it with hot glue to give it the effect of water. The sewer pipe is made of a toilet paper roll and painted. The little ooze canister is a light fuse that I bought at a dollar store and painted. I had originally painted it purple to look like the mutagen from the cartoon but it just didn't work so I scrapped that idea and painted it green. The newspaper and Shredder poster were hand drawn, crinkled, burnt, and dirtied up to look like trash. I plan to make some soup cans, and other garbage to stick in the water stream.

These aren't figures but they are 2 of my newest acomplishments.

My friend gave me this vintage Raphael cereal bowl for free, and clarified it was trash. I kept insiting I wanted it anyways and after a realy really reeeeally good washing and some acrylics I think I made it look a lot less creepy and a lot better for displaying. It had some really nasty grime, burn marks, a huge crack down the side and all the paint was gone. I repainted the face and the red on all his straps. I chose not to repaint the green because I have a hard time telling myself its okay to fix vintage stuff so I wanted to leave it as original as I could.

And this is part of my Casey Jones cosplay I am currently working on for Rose City Comic Con on the 21st. I was planning to do this costume for Portland Comic Con in January but when I saw that the original turtle voice actors and April are coming for the 30th anniversary I had to whip something up fast and cheap so that all my money can go to bills and photos/signing at the con.
This was a cheap party store halloween glow in the dark hockey mask that I painted with acrylics. I'm really happy with how it came out. Don't mind my 1 and a half year olds toys and monkey in the background haha.
