Who else thought so? i did when i first saw him and pics of him.

I think the Jim Henson company must had recycled a rejected design and made Tokka.

Hmm, kind of. Maybe they were originally a race of turtles that had ascended? I mean, both the Skeksis and the Mystics had round, humped backs, and large beaks. I'm aware the Urskeks were very different, but they could have originally evolved from turtles, and the crystal "devolved" them back to two separate "earlier" forms when it cracked..... Just a theory, mind.

I saw that movie for the first time this past Christmas. I was not sober and I had just, the best time.

Kevin Eastman designed Tokka. It just so happened that he had a slight resemblance to a Skeksis, so they used their head mechanisms as a blueprint for Tokka's.

I don't know if it's just me, but Urskeks look way creepier than Skeksis.

I was TERRIFIED of the Urskeks as a kid, when they started their chant I used to run away

Heh, I actually used that "creepiness" to base an alien race on their appearance for an issue of my Marvel-based comic series. Basically, Red-Back (Spidey's kid) has to stop an alien race from destroying the planet. In space. And it ties into his own conception and birth. Dr. Strange is involved. It was complicated and kind of "Alien-esque". They were sort of like the aliens from Independence Day, but looked a lot like the Urskeks.

Are you sure? I thought it was Steve Bisette who created him.

Nah, he's responsible for Terrorpin, another mutant snapping turtle from vol. 2 of the Mirage comics, & a toy design riffing on that. At least I believe so. But he definitely didn't create Tokka.
