A friend of mine said he played the new turtles game at the playstation experience and he said:
- It was trying to be a streets of rage and failing horribly
- The graphics are terrible
- It looked and played horrible

Tell me he's wrong, I know the graphics look fine and the video I saw showed it played nice and fast paced...he's wrong right?

I am dying with anticipation for the game, hopefully its an October release in the UK too

I can understand if your friend isn't a turtles fan. We know the new game is going to be beat em up style, so I think we'll like it because we're turtles fans, and it will be simply a fun game to play, but obviously it wont be a revolutionary new ground breaking game.

Man trying to be Streets of Rage? That was a great game but the TMNT game trying to imitate it? That's just sad. Oh well, I have my PS2 copy reserved so I guess I'll see how it turns out. Nothing is better than the old games though. I love beating the crap outta the old Krang and Shredder.

I played it at Playstation Experience, its not a bad game infact it had 1 of the longest queues, its a gd game but we could only play three zones there.

I would think the graphics would be terrible on the Playstation, they look really awful.

Raven

ya the graphics arent impresive, but I still think the game will be fun.

Playstation has the worst graphics of all the next gen systems. Also, TMNT is older than Streets of Rage, so who's copying who?

Streets of Rage was 1989

And TMNT was 1989

or atleast the beat em up TMNT was

I'm sure it's not that awful. You don't judge games by saying Cel-Shading ruinning the game.

Alot of games now and day use the Cel-Shading process for a more Cartoon Reference like Wind Waker & Cel-Damage.

I hope your talking about the game and not the console

But the PS2 does have the worst graphics out of all the consoles

Gamecube beats Playstation2
X-Box Beats Gamecube
And PC beats X-Box (depending on how good your graphics card is)

sorry but I have to disagree (its just a opion so dont yell at me)

I just dont like xbox, because of bill gates, I can stand the game cube.
but the only reason the ps2 is good is because of MGS games. If it wasent for that than it would suck, but to me it has some of the best games (at the moment) (but remember its been out longer than the other 2)

but thats just a opion. not facts (well for the part of it beening out longer)

Well owning all 3 of them plus prattically every console since 1987 including Neo Geo AES and CD

I can saftly say this.

Gamecube - A great console due to its link up caperbilities and 4 player port options.

X-box - I dont partically like this console, i hate to say that its graphics are better, but its fact, I didnt really want this console, but i ended up gettin 2 of them somehow  and i mainly only wanted it for 1 game , that game being "Shenmue 2"

PS2 - bad graphics but is older than the others, it has a much larger choice of games though.

well ya that was my point that the ps2 was out longer than the 2, an dI do feel the gamcube has (cant belive im saying this) better graphics, only because its so new. so I agree with you.
but I just feel the xbox is bill gates reason to get more money, the games for it are bland, and I dont really care for it, but its graphics are ok, I dont think it has as much a better graphics as the ps2, because they came out around the same time (I think)

but also have to remeber that if a console has better graphics, dosent mean that the games on the console live up to that, which dosent seem to be so for the ps2 and gamecube thats why they do so well, because the people are able to use and find more ways to get better stuff out of it, but the people of xbox (I im not trying to offenend anyone) games were at first all about the money, an djust comming out with games to look like it has a huge list of games. but I think there starting to relize thats not the way to go.

I agree

While the gamecube games are great graphics wise, alot of them i just get bored with.

Ok, i just grabbed 20 random GC games off my shelf, and i looked, and only 7 out of the 20 i could still possibly play, the rest im bored of and lack interest in.

In my opinoin, GC needs more beat em ups (like the upcomming TMNT game)

and the X-box well... as i said, 1 game is all i wanted, and i though, il give this console a try, and i bought about 10 more games... and well.. they didnt last more than about an hour, i got bored with them, they didnt interest me.
Microsoft shouldnt have made a Console, they should stick what they are Worse at making, and thats Windows. They should work more on the bugs and glitches in our OS. and not some cheap marketing ploy called the X-Box

agreed, micorsoft should stay to one thing, instead of sucking up awhole bunch of other stuff.

Few corrections to the budding console war. note, these are not oppinions, but actual hard facts about the 3. Keep in mind that Krang deleted this in another thread a while back.

PS2 had over a years lead on GameCube and X-Box. X-Box launched approx. one week before GameCube.

Statictics say that GameCube and X-Box are more or less even as far as graphics go, but with processor power the X-Box wins because for save data it has to search a much larger hard drive to access save data, and it has to transfer the larger file sizes quicker. GameCube's games data is compressed extremely small, so it dosn't need the raw speed.

Another thing to remember, regardless of what company you support: consoles are getting to the point where graphic upgrades are not going to as noticable. If they improve much more, games are going to be much much more expensive due to development fees and time. If you notice, PC's have, for the most part, hit this wall.

Now, on to the actual topic: TMNT is a liscensed game, meaning the only people who are going to pay attention to it are the fans of the toys/cartoon/comics, or people who like old school beat-'em-up games.

I played the game at E3 and I liked it a lot.
Out of everything I saw in the 2 days I was at E3, it is the game I have been most eagerly anticipating. It is also very nice looking. The cel-shaded look was definitely the right choice. The Giant Mouser and Nanobot boss stages looked pretty fun too. It is 2 player on all 3 consoles. I think it comes down to game mechanics. I think the consoles would perhaps be too taxed if they faced using 4 charcters plus all the enemies at once. I am not positive about this, but it seems there may be a fighting mode also where you can pit charcters against each other a la Street Fighter. There were only 2 stages playable at E3 and the versus option was not one of them. I vaguely remember seeing something which led me to believe there was a versus mode, but I could be mistaken.

The GBA game, on the other hand was not fun at all. Terrible play control.

RIC: For a joke, get this guy the TMNT game for his 10th b-day (well, that's about how old he sounds to me considering his opinions on graphics this and graphics that...)
