8) Hello Guys! You know today i was shown a movie about the ninja turtles and i have never seen it before. It is called the next mutation. I liked it. what do you think about this movie? About those dragons. I guess they are very stupid and funny. But i'd like to ask what happened to Shredder in this episode? What did Venus do to him??
Thanks guys
i hope to hear from you soon.
Good Luck.
PS: is this movie the last about TMNT?

Next Mutation was a series following up the cartoon in live action format, it aired on fox for a little while and was canceled for very good reasons. I've only seen it once but I don't really want to see it again, its preety much shunned away by all us turtle fans

But i'd like to ask what happened to Shredder in this episode? What did Venus do to him??She used her Shinobi mind powers to make him see the error of his ways. AKA She fried his brain! Bwahahahahahahaha!

I happen to love the show. It's supposed to follow after the movies, but basically goes off on a tangent from the "accepted" Turtle-verse. That's NOT a bad thing people! But that's your own opinion, I can't make you like it.

PS: is this movie the last about TMNT?Actually, it's an edited version of the first five episodes of the TV series. It was horribly edited, 110 minutes in 75 minutes of tape. They cut 35 minutes! That's probably why that version seems so confusing.
Anyway, it was "the last about TMNT" for awhile, but now we've got a few projects coming up that should be better than that. (Hey, I said I liked it, not that it was the best TMNT had to offer.)

 That was agreat answer. so Shred won't appear in show again, will he?

Kali

Actually, he does appear in TNM again, in one episode. But I've only got five eps on tape, and that's not one of them. :goofygri:

He'll definately be in the new projects.

how many eps/seasons did the next mutation have?

Kali
07-07-2002, 02:19 PM
One season, 26 episodes. They were signed on for a second season, but it got cancelled before they could make it.

Poor Shredder!
The very first ep was OK. Though the Turtles might have moved their lips while speaking! :P
I made myself watch the second ep (where Shredder dies) up to the end and then I watched the 3rd one (with the dragons) but it didn't give me any pleasure anymore so I gave up watching.

DID SHREDDER DIE????????? :goofygri:  :-? :o

Kali
07-08-2002, 08:50 AM
Shredder does not die! I can understand how you would think that if you didn't see past the first episodes, but he didn't die. Well, according to Venus' words: Shredder did die, was Oroku Saki lived on. Yes, I know it sounds complicated.

So, he doesn't die, he returns in episode 17, Enemy of my Enemy.

thanks again.

Kali

Well, at the end of 26 episodes the dragons were still strong and causing trouble, but according to the TMNT Letters at the Official Site, they were defeated. Just sent away to another prison.

I kinda liked the hunter, Bonesteel. He's one of the few TMNT villians to actually be insane. I respect that. Besides, he's fun to write!

You know i'm a big fan of turtles despite my age:-) I don't know what to do. I can't live without them. and i also think that their enemies do play a big role in the show because the turtles wouldn't be so cool without them.
You know Russia is a country of paradoxes and here is very difficult to realize what is going on. I mean that i saw the movie where turtles were travelling in time and an episode.. where i saw superShredder. sorry i really can't say how it's called in english because we're shown only russian versions. You are really lucky guys cause you can see the original. so i'd like to ask are these episodes old. did they appear earlier than the next mutation??

super shredder was the final giant shredder at the end of "Secret of the Ooze". i know this because i have had the first three action movies for a long time (and i still watch them). plus, i have that cheesy next mutation video... which was partially funny. i mean tje way michaelangelo tried to hit on his sister (i believe they are all brothers, i dont care what the show says. they were brothers in the original movies and in the comic book collection... i think). anyway... super shredder is the shredder that oozes himself at the end. he must've not been that much of competition, because he only lasted five minutes in the movie. that would be nice.

Kali
07-09-2002, 07:26 PM
Actually, no where in the comics or movies or cartoons do they actually prove they're all blood related. Still, that doesn't stop them from being brothers.

Don't even get me started on my Super Shredder theories.

The TMNT may not be blood related but they were still raised together and that makes them brothers. Doesn't matter if you're adopted, related biologically, or what, those you know best and care about the most are your family.

*smacks forehead* Oy, I know I'm going out of my mind now.

Kali
07-09-2002, 07:47 PM
That's your opinion. It's cool. I have no proof they're NOT blood related (except in the case of TNM) and even though I don't think they're related, and still think they're brothers at heart and that's all that counts.

BTW, isn't that Raphael in the first panel? He's the one who delivered the message to Oroku Saki.

Kali
07-10-2002, 02:04 PM
Raph is in the first panel. Leo's the one who says it on the second page there. Still, you'd call your adopted silblings "brother" and "sister", wouldn't you?

Not trying to convince anyone, just stating an opinion. They're mentally brothers, if not physically.

Kingkapong
07-10-2002, 07:17 PM
i agree with that. i dug up this book that specified that each turtle came from different petshops (but on the cover it had the word "unofficial"). this is another mystery.

Kali
07-10-2002, 07:34 PM
Yeah, in every universe the turtles were in the same jar, so it's assumed they all came from the same shop. I mean, would you go to four different stores for pets when you could get four from one store?

Or maybe the kid did, I don't know. Pet shop turtles are usually bred on a turtle farm. I don't know how those work, so I'm not sure whether nests are split up or not. Maybe they are related.

It's 100 degrees! I don't want to think anymore!

enigma-1
07-10-2002, 07:36 PM
Perhaps this is one of life's mysteries that will never be solved by anyone but the creators.

miss mab
07-10-2002, 07:59 PM
Chances are the petshop would have to custom order four turtles since those suckers arent exactly plentiful like hampsters in most petshops(at least thats been my experience). Most likely the petshop would of had to of ordered from a special turtle place and four were just randomly shipped together.

Kingkapong
07-11-2002, 08:47 AM
hmm...also, the turtles have different skin colours. leo and mike's colour are the same and don and ralphs are similar (in the movies). can't tell in the cartoon.

HorseTechie
07-11-2002, 11:46 AM
O heck.. just write a letter to Laird and/or Berger and have it settled once and for all! (I think I may do that... hrmmm...)

But yeah, I'm also one to believe they are brothers. The TNM is the ONLY exception I'll say they are not. Everywhere else, I figure they are blood related.

O course, in Higure, I twisted the facts a bit by saying that Mike n Don were related, and Leo and Raph are not blood related to anyone. But that's my weird ass fic for yah. :P

Kali
07-11-2002, 05:25 PM
Yeah, I tend to do that too, change tiny details like that from fic to fic, depending on the plot and stuff. For example, I don't think humans and Turtles could interbreed, but I've done it on one occasion, with reason.

I usually don't dwell on it at all unless it's an important point. My view: Blood or not, they're brothers.

Kingkapong
07-11-2002, 06:32 PM

I figure if you've been raised with them as brothers, you're gonna see em as brothers...dna or not. O_o Though I really doubt they're totally blood related. Chances are highly slim in a logical way.

Then again, who's to deny odd probabilities. I mean heck, chances glass breaks and mutagen are rare. Who's to say what not? O_o

Nturtle
07-11-2002, 08:07 PM

Skeletoncrew
07-12-2002, 12:59 AM
Personally I don't have any strong opinions on the blood-relation issue. They're a family unit, thats all I care about. All this talk of petshops is reminding me of our speculation as to whether Splinter might have fathered any ratties before Yoshi bought him. :P

Hmmm...now I'm wondering why in all his years of scheming cartoon Shredder never created a female turtle (or rat maybe) to use against them?

azure turtle
07-12-2002, 01:12 AM
Now now, Ninja Nin. You aren't an idiot. Everyone just has different opinions, that's all. I've always believed that they're related, but that's what I think.

I've actually wondered the same thing, SC! Why didn't Shredder take a girl off the streets and turn her into a mutant turtle? It'd definitely affect the turtles' if they discovered that there was a female turtle...She'd surely be a distraction. Hmm...this reminds of Kali's Midori fic. :)

Skeletoncrew
07-12-2002, 01:20 AM
Yeah, I was reminded of Midori after I started writing that. Maybe it would have been too "adult" of a concept for the cartoon. Though they did have the turtles (and Splinter sort of) ogling April in "April Foolish". At the very least he could have gotten a hooker (or some other sort of woman that would be willing to do the job) to pretend she was being attacked by Rocksteady and Bebob (or something), and then the turtles "save" her...then she could infiltrate their lair... But I think a female mutant would have been a really easy way to defeat them.

BTW, I just watched a NM clip...Splinter's head isn't terribly good...but I love all the leg he's showing!

azure turtle
07-12-2002, 01:50 AM
Oh dear.... :sweatdro:

I don't remember much of TNM, since I only watched a handful of episodes. But from the clips and pics I've seen, the costumes do look pretty good. The mouths don't really match the voices, though.

Kali
07-12-2002, 06:02 AM
As for the female turtle thing, I think a cartoon plot would be more along the lines of Missing Pieces, with Angel/Cassidy. I wrote that to sound a lot like one of the cartoon episodes. Even going so far as to always writing their full names. It actually has Krang and Shredder creating a female turtle to distract the Turtles and "infiltrate" the lair. Nothing goes right after that, of course.

It strikes us as an obvious solution, but I don't think Shredder's mind works quite the same way. He caught onto their weakness for pizza, and saving April and other innocents, though. He's just not a big fan of psychological warfare. No wonder he never won.

HorseTechie
07-12-2002, 10:40 AM
Hmmm...now I'm wondering why in all his years of scheming cartoon Shredder never created a female turtle (or rat maybe) to use against them?
oo... wait, wait, wait.... *tries to think* gah, I can't remeber it well... but there were opposing female chars in the eps that the Turtles had something of a rondevous with. Like Lotus Blossom... and then Mona Lisa...? Did Lotus start out working for Shredder?

Kali
07-12-2002, 12:01 PM
Lotus was hired by Krang to replace Shredder. He hired her because she was a skilled ninja and he could match her price. Leonardo getting a crush on her wasn't really planned.

The love potion in Green With Jealousy was the closest time Krang and Shredder came to using the Turtles' teenage hormones against them. That I can remember.

miss mab
07-12-2002, 01:18 PM
Was that the one where they all fell for Irma...well..except Donatello since he was driving. :P

I mean really though, if you want distraction, grab a teenage girl, turtleize her, then drop her in the lap of the four of them. It would be better off if she was kinda scared and confused and not part of the scheme cause then thered be honest sympathy and you could guess most of them would be trying their best to go the distance in good intentions to get her good side.

Though in cartoon world, they would soon after go off to try to "get the antidote" or something but then again who knows. :P

Kali
07-12-2002, 01:39 PM
I know, that's what I did in Missing Pieces. Except I also gave her amnesia. Well, Shredder did. Can't recall why exactly I did that. I think I wanted them to focus more on her immediate problem and kinda forget Shredder for awhile.

I must go back and re read exactly what I wrote.

Although I do like the "funky lair with lots of stuff" look, I prefer the lair as it is in the cartoon. Nice and neat. I suppose Splinter could be the pack rat type, but he seems to be an orderly sort of person. Plus, sleeping against a wall would NOT be comfortable!

Kali
07-16-2002, 03:16 PM
I always saw it like that. A large main room, kitchen, and dojo, wiith each turtle and Splinter having their own room. Or maybe the guys sharing rooms, which seems to be popluar in fan fics.

:o Venus and Splinter were sleeping together? (heh, just kidding!) I didn't see that. I guess I was too distracted with the way Mike and Leo were sleeping on the couch.

But as I understood it, Splinter did have his own quarters in the subway car where he rested. But it didn't make sense to me that the guys didnt have any real place to sleep. In TMNT1, I saw that they slept on mats in one tunnel area sectioned off from the main room. But that's Saban for yah.

In my fics and movie/TNM based RPGs, we gave them a sleeping area in the other end of the subway car.

Silly people. Even mutants need their own space to sleep. Personally I picture them either with their own rooms, or sharing rooms. It depends on which works best in the fanfic I'm writing. Shared worked for Moonlight, so thats what I did.

PM=Private Message. I don't know who was getting into a flame war, or why. It doesn't matter.

who was gonna get into a flame war?Nobody in particular, but the topic that was being discussed has a history of starting them. If anyone still doesn't know what I'm talking about or doesn't understand why I deleted those posts, email or PM me and I'll explain it further...

hmm... they fought with their bare hands... maybe because weapons also made it seem that there is more violence.

I figured its just more difficult to stage fights with weapons. Especially having to handle them in those costumes.

The only real fight I remember, was when Raph and Leo sparred with bambo staffs to settle a point. That one was actually pretty cool to watch too!

im which movie? i don't remember that, was that the third one? OHHHHH dumb me, next mutation... duh. That's neat, now I wish i paid more attention to the turtles back then, i missed out on most episodes, i only saw 1 or 2 on tv, and bought the vhs. I think it's because back then i didn't have that good of an attention span  during the last few years i've really matured
